  1. He had G-d given talent and he did not waste this gift.

    He is gone but left us his music.

    He now performs for the Almighty.

  2. George Gershwin was Jewish – as a composer, particularly in his Paris period, his style recalls Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy but he is always original. He died at 38 in 1937 of cancer. No one at the time thought he would be gone so soon. But we have his delightful music as his gift!

    Mention should be made here of his older brother Ira, who was a talented lyricist.

    Its hard to imagine what American culture would have been like without them. They are non-pareil and sad to say we shall not look upon their likes again!
