  1. @ bernard ross:

His long held positions on Israel reflect what is commonly held by most senior American military and this goes back to WW2 1948 under Marshal at state and forget his name at Defense the crazy one who killed himself??? Sec of Defense has influence over any president depending on the relationship… Trump seems to idolize the military especially tough combat officers.

  2. @ bernard ross:

Don’t underestimate British control and influence on American financial and intelligence institutions… The Empire might be dead but power centers survived.

I agree they will do anything to bring Trump down. Obama hanging around Washington to be active in that direction. Some say will build shadow government. Trump must try to secure all the files on the bad guys Obama and Clinton’s etc. He who holds the information controls his fate like J Edgar Hoover.

Assassination not out of my wildest scenarios….???

I have found it is MI6 who runs CIA ops and surrogates for them when inconvenient like eavesdropping on world leaders CIA finds legally difficult to do themselves.

Yes, but also each operates illegally, under the table in the others nation with permission to spy on their own citizens. There was a scandal within the last couple of years that the CIA allows MI6 to wiretap in the USA under agreements… this is how the cia gets info and skirts domestic law… apparently they do it also for MI6 in the UK.
Knowing this it becomes obvious that the obama intelligence people fabricated the dossiers and got them to an old friend who delivered it to Mcain, who was likely in on the whole plot, to give to comey at fbi. Woodward says thee “dossier” is garbage. The whole thing looks amateur but get legs due to tied MSM pushing it as news. In my view mccain and all the intelligence obama heads, the operatives involved and possibly obama were involved in an espionage plot which was a seditious conspiracy to sabotage an elected american president, create a destablization disinformation campaign through the fake news MSM disinfo outlets, corrupted our security services… its treason, sedition and sabotage… if it had worked they would have likely annuled the election and it would be a defacto coup. IMO they plotted a coup against an elected president.. with obama as part of it. It should be a death penalty crime… Pinochet and Duterte would know what to do.

It is possible that trump knew all this which might explain the military men heading all the security departments. Perhaps Pieczenik was correct. In any case I expect a destabilization campaign through all the activated moles like BLM, disguised as protests just like the arab spring. I think the trouble is beginning and it might depend on Trumps willingness to lock them all up before they succeed.

Being in the tank for Trump is no excuse for ignoring his fsults asnd mistakes including appointing Jew hating SOB’s to key positions in his admin.

sorry, i am late… I am not in the tank for anyone.. its true that I am impressed by Trumps performance and achievements to date and the unusual tactics he has used to totally humiliate and wipe out all his opposition. As a result of observing his success against all odds, which was a learning experience for me, I tend to take an unorthodox approach to evaluating what he does. I do not automatically assume that he has done something with the same criteria and reasons as I and others would expect. Also, I put on a businessmans hat in trying to understand his moves and decisions. Also, I do not expect that every decision he makes is made with Israel as his priority. In the case of mattis so far I see no problem.. he likely chosee mattis for reasons unrelated to Israel… whatever opinions mattis had or didnt have remains to be seen..and especially what effect will be on Israel. Mattis is unrelated to diplomacy, settlement, sovereignty.. he is defense. His opinion is irrelevant on all those issues and I already stated that. Trump has so far behaved more positive for Israel than most Israelis and I dont expect any personal opinion of mattis to hamper Israel. The military tends to operate on a chain of command and follow orders, trumps orders…. as the official commander in chief of all the forces. Trump has chosen a military man to convey and execute his orders… his opinions on issues is irrelevant. Trump will demand that his subordinates follow his orders… businessmen do not operate on consensus, feelings or opinions of their employees just like military on their subordinates. Thats why yaalon and eisenkot knew their military investigators, their military prosecutors and their military judges would follow their declarations of the soldiers guilt as orders and would execute dutifully their commands.

It is truly difficult to read slams here against Mattis, based solely on his testimony for the Senate FR Cte, needing to get that waiver passed despite the Democrats full-blown campaign, funded by Soros, to delegitimize POTUS Trump.

I will concede that he might be an excellent field commander but he doesn’t sound like an intellectual as many have credited him.

As General Jim Mattis remarked about Afghanistan, “It’s hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.”

Apparently the Genius Mattis failed to comprehend some basic facts. The US gives Israel no aid. The money euphemistically called aid is anything but that. America possesses neither selfless goodwill, nor moral or legal obligations toward Israel. The annual subsidies are bribes at worst, payments at best. America pays Israel for the influence in the Middle East. Controlling the Middle Eastern bully is America’s greatest regional asset. America receives immense leverage in its dealings with Muslims by the fact of controlling their major enemy. That achievement did not come easy: America failed at replicating it with Pakistan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Germany, Japan, and several other countries. America has two contradictory policies: isolation and world outreach. Aligning itself with regional hegemons is the only way to resolve that political dichotomy. Tried in many countries, the US policy of regional alignment succeeded only with Israel. Only the Jews were ready to sell sovereignty.

Do U.S. Generals Have Pro-Arab Slant?

“…Those of us who served with him know that he is a caring, erudite, warfighting general. We also know that there is a reason he uses the call-sign Chaos: he is a lifelong student of his profession, a devotee of maneuver warfare and Sun Tzu, the sort of guy who wants to win without fighting—to cause chaos among those he would oppose.

To Marines, he is the finest of our tribal elders. The rest of the world, very soon, will know how truly gifted he is. Our friends and allies will be happy he is our new secretary of war; our enemies will soon wish he weren’t. …”

Seems there is a Trump Golf Club for D.C. So, the Woodmont Country Club Jews can have Obama or not. The Kushners can go to the Trump Golf Club, which has a kiddie pool, bringing charges of whatnot from CNN et al.

    Semper Fi.

  7. @ yamit82:
We’ll find out which G-d when Woodmont Country Club decides on Obama’s post-presidency membership.

Assuming he now applies, because, after all, why would he want to golf with Jews without HRC in the WH?

Also, the Kushner family needs a place for their children to swim, and membership at Woodmont makes more sense for them. No hint if they are considering an application.

Delicious that Woodmont started back when the WASP country clubs were Judenfrei.

  8. @ Edgar G.:
My take of Mattis same as you EdgarG; masterful, actually emphasizing current policy.

    @ yamit82:
Mattis was CENTCOM head from August 11, 2010, to March 22, 2013.
Then he retired. Things changed with Israel and the Sunnis since then. Have some confidence Mattis will be a positive, especially when the USA enforces UNSC Res 1701! (my dream)
He is a Marine. And he is intelligent.

Mattis lunch with Rick Perry and Danny Danon, in the Map Room, would get Mattis up to speed. (smile)

I am wondering if Gov Perry will get asked about Defender of Jerusalem during his confirmation hearing for Sec Energy. Doubtful, because all the Dems will be testing his knowledge of nuclear physics…

  9. Marine Gen. James Mattis, who told the 2013 Aspen Security Forum that, in the absence of a two-state solution, “either [Israel] ceases to be a Jewish state or you say the Arabs don’t get to vote — apartheid. That didn’t work too well the last time I saw that practiced in a country.”

He also said Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel.

He is not a friend of Israel.

I am hopeful though that Friedman, Kushner, Ivanka and Tillerson will be greatest influencers on Israel Palestinian matters aside from Trump himself in the new USA government.

I forgot General Flynn who is a friend as so is Steve Banon.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, said that he thinks the United States should pull out of the peacemaking business altogether.

Quote from General Flynn, “I don’t think there’s gonna be peace between Israel and Palestine. I mean, come on. How many people have we struggled to go through that?” said Flynn. “So let’s be honest about this, and let’s not have another big name go in there and get in the middle of the two countries and try to figure this out while people that are coming from one side of that line with daggers are putting knives into women and children in Israel.”

  10. xxx

Incidentally, regarding the questioning and answering of Mattis, I particularly noticed, that whilst giving the appearance of being rather anti-Israel, he was carefully dealing only or mainly with the status at the very present, that is, during Obama’s Presidency, and was NOT projecting forward to Trump’s taking office. One could say that it was a very masterful performance, being both evasive and appearing frank at the same time.

These are my impressions anyway, that he will accept and act on the policies set by the new President, when the time comes.

SE took the words from my mouth. I was intending to say the same about the Temple Mount, but he said it and that’s good. But….another point of his is wrong. The Land IS disputed, it’s disputed by the Arabs, only the Arabs, not by both or the Jews alone. The Jews KNOW that the land belongs to us.

As for the last legally binding document about the Land, it was not San Remo or forward in the 1920s. That description belongs to the United Nations, which, in 1945, in their Founding Charter, Art. 80 accepted and agreed to honour ALL previously BINDING International Agreements directly from the League of Nations.
The San Remo conference, The Sevres Agreement, The LON British Mandate, The Anglo-American Treaty, all encompassed the Balfour declaration and indeed went a bit further.

They were ALL included in Art.80 of the Founding Charter of the UInited Nations in 1945, which was the most recent International Agreement accepting the full ownership of Palestine from the Jordan to the Sea, as belonging to the Jewish People, and morphed into the State of Israel.

Addendum; The peace agreement signed in October 1994 between Israel and the State of Jordan affirmed, or in fact, re-affirmed that Israel’s Eastern Boundary between them, was the River Jordan, Israel thus encompassing the whole of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Sea as in the original post WW1 multiple International binding agreements above mentioned.. The local Arabs were not even mentioned, and this agreement has the status of an International Agreement, having been accepted by the United Nations..

Being in the tank for Trump is no excuse for ignoring his fsults asnd mistakes including appointing Jew hating SOB’s to key positions in his admin. Mattis is a dumb Jew hater and whatever his acumen as a combat officer his is apparently a Arab Lover and Jew hater supported Kerry and blames Israel for American set backs and losses in the ME.

“So we’ve got to work on this with a sense of urgency,” Mattis said. “And I paid a military-security price every day as a commander of CENTCOM, because the Americans are seen as biased in support of Israel, and that moderates all the moderate Arabs who want to be with us, because they can’t come out publicly in support of people who don’t show respect for the Arab Palestinians.”

  14. @ bernard ross:

Interesting that public opinion of Jews in Israel almost exact opposite of American Jews wrt Obama and Trump.

An overwhelming majority of Israelis believe that outgoing President Barack Obama and his administration were pro-Palestinian Authority, as opposed to pro-Israel, according to a new poll by the Smith polling institute.

According to the survey, which was released on Thursday, nearly two-thirds of Israeli Jews believe the Obama administration is pro-Palestinian Authority, but an even larger majority say his successor is pro-Israel.

The poll, which was conducted from January 10th to 11th and has a margin of error of 4.5%, reveals that 65% of Israeli Jews feel the Obama administration has been pro-Palestinian, compared to just 12% who feel it has been pro-Israel. Twenty percent said Obama has been neutral in his dealings with Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Most Israeli Jews, however, view President-elect Donald Trump as being pro-Israel. Seventy-nine percent characterized the incoming administration as such, while just 3% said it was pro-Palestinian, and 10% said it was neutral, while the remaining 8% had no opinion.

The results of the Smith poll corroborate the findings of this month’s Peace Index, a survey conducted by Tel Aviv University in conjunction with the Israel Democracy Institute.

According to the Peace Index survey, just 22.2% of Israeli Jews believe the Obama administration has been friendly towards Israel, compared to 56.9% who say it is unfriendly, and 17.3% who say it has been neutral.

More than two-thirds (68.7%), however, say President-elect Trump is friendly towards Israel, while just 2.6% say he is unfriendly towards the Jewish state, with 12.2% believing he is neutral. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/223232

WASHINGTON (JTA) – Donald Trump’s choice for secretary of defense said at confirmation hearings that Tel Aviv is Israel’s capital — apparently at odds with the president-elect, who has said he intends to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.

“The capital of Israel that I go to, sir, is Tel Aviv, sir, because that’s where all their government people are,” James Mattis, a retired four-star general, told the U.S. Senate hearing on Thursday morning in response to questions about policy on Israel.

Trump’s transition team has not cited any timetable for moving the embassy to Jerusalem, Israel’s stated capital.

Meanwhile, Mattis and Rex Tillerson, the Exxon CEO under consideration for secretary of state, both said they were unhappy with the Iran nuclear deal but suggested they would not scrap it. Tillerson also appeared this week at confirmation hearings.

Mattis was most pronounced in his rejection of a retreat from the deal reached last year between Iran and six major powers led by the United States exchanging sanctions relief for a nuclear rollback deal.

“I think it is an imperfect arms control agreement — it’s not a friendship treaty,” Mattis said, responding to Sen. Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate’s Armed Services Committee and a backer of the deal. “But when America gives her word, we have to live up to it and work with our allies.”

Huh??? Anyone crediting this moron with being a scholar is also a moron.

  17. Many errors in his speech:

    1) NO, the Western Wall is not the holiest site in Judaism. Judaism’s holiest site is and has always been the Temple Mount (which is currently under occupation by Muslims).

    2) NO, the “territory” is NOT disputed. It has LEGALLY belonged to the Jewish people since the Paris Peace Conference and San Remo.

    3) The League of Nations was NOT the last legally binding document. As stated above. That was the Paris Peace Conference and San Remo.

You mean well but PLEASE know the facts before you say such stupid things.

  18. @ yamit82:
Yes, shocking, as Mattis is NOT currently employed by Obama.

But, Mattis is very educable, and his answers to Sen Graham might have been because it is Graham, who barks his questions with condescension.

I was more surprised by his claiming ignorance of UNSC Res 2334 in response to Sen Wicker, who was gracious in giving Mattis a pass.

It would appear the US military really has been influenced by the Arabs.

If you study the DoD organizational chart, SecDef is unwieldy – too many direct reports, sprawling span of control.

Nikki Haley’s confirmation hearing for UN Ambassador is Jan 18. Foreign Relations committee. Timmy Kaine can try saying Palestine again as he did with Mattis. twice.

Mattis is derived from Matthew: gift of G-d.

  19. Remember that ” 200 generals” want to concede territories to the Muslims! They will get bubkes & more missiles.
    Muslims understand only POWER!

LOL,…. the suckers are still whining
israel should get the names of the US agents who trashed trump to the israeli agents.. to trump. Trump needs to get them into jail and get who instructed them to sabotage an elected president or to seek to alter the course of an election… its a crime of sedition and treason… people should go to jail. Someone instructed them from higher up.. maybe right up to obama.
Everything they pull on trump backfires…. even their intelligence dirty tricks. It is said that 4Chan set up the suckers and buzzfeed with the russian prostitute story as a hit. I think MI6 is colluding with CIA and mccain, who is on intelligence commitee… apparently a russian then named says they never contacted him. I hope trump purges the lot of them and gets them in jail.

Gen Mattis seems to be pro Arab and has no love for Israel

irrelevant.. he is sod not sos
he says “right now” he follows policy on tel aviv.. that is the only sensible thing to say at a senate confirmation hearing where the goal is a confirmation
he stated that moving embassy is decision of sos
on any controversial issue the MO is to get confirmation
SOD has nothing to do with foreign policy and follows policy of pres… SOS also follows policies of pres
the problem is not trump or usa… its Israel
embassy, settlement, annexation, muslim anti semitism, holy places access…. ALL OBSTRUCTED BY GOI
my wager is GOI more afraid of moving embassy than trump
every day the GOI allows muslims to beat up jews
Israel is the problem… look nowhere else…. every defamer follows Israelis defamations.

  22. yamit82 Said:

Gen Mattis seems to be pro Arab and has no love for Israel or understanding of our positions.

as SOD his opinions on those matters are irrelevant. However, you must read carefully the hearing replies

first, re the capitol of tel aviv… he says “right now” he follows US policy
second, on moving embassy, he states that is the portfolio of SOS.
He acknowledged that Israel was treated poorly by obama
    but
Cabinet members must follow the dictates of the pres on policy.

it makes no sense to parse the words of these hearings where the goal is to receive senate confirmation… not to give policy. Everything said is related to confirmation and binds no one

the real problem is Israel, not trump and not the USA
moving the embassy, annexing, settling, muslim anti semitism, holy places access…ALL OBSTRUCTED BY THE GOI
My bet is that the GOI is more afraid of moving the embassy than trump.

In the Intelligence report Israel was named along with Russia and China for Hacking into DNC servers and I suppose others.

Gen Mattis seems to be pro Arab and has no love for Israel or understanding of our positions.

Justice Dept IG now investigating Justice Dept and FBI regarding Clinton investigation and it will fall on Trump and Justice Dept and AG Sessions to make final determinations. Obama can now Pardon Clinton in advance. Apparently the 300 hundred Emails dumped on Sunday eve. Had material that triggered the IG to investigate https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-01-12/justice-department-inspector-opens-probe-of-fbi-election-actions

  24. US officials said to warn: Trump’s ties to Russia could pose security risk to Israel
Hebrew daily claims American intel staffers told Israeli counterparts that information shared with incoming administration may reach Moscow and from there be leaked to Iran
    http://www.timesofisrael.com/report-us-intelligence-warned-israel-over-trumps-ties-to-russia/

Trump needs to jail those rogue US intelligence officials trying to sabotage the POTUS… looks like sedition and sabotage with US corrupted intel services, MI6, McCain, and the dem corrupted security orgs in on it. I suggest treason trials when trump gets in… this is a concerted conspiracy to commit sabotagee an treason punishable as a capital crime… against the elected president of the USA

Report: Obama Intel Officials Used ‘Russia Blackmail’ Claims to Warn Israel About Trusting Trump
    http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2017/01/12/report-obama-intel-officials-used-russia-blackmail-claims-warn-israel-trusting-trump/

It is likely that the usual Israeli leftist security figures are also in on it…. the ones that always jump up in unison… global leftist intelligence figures are being activated to bring down trump. I would not put assasination past them like they did kennedy’s. Trump needs treason trials and a purging of the soros network of spies from the US security agencies..

Israel needs to investigate and hand the names of the US agents attempting a coup over to Trump… also.. is the “hebrew newspaper” and Israeli agents in on the attempted coup?

    Good choice, SZ.

My late father, Max Harris, of Davenport IA, Rock Island IL and Chicago IL, who served in France n World War 1 as part of General “Blackjack” Pershing’s American Expeditionary Force, taught me to never to trust liberals. So I have been on the Republican side of the fence since my final year in high school, during which I was a member of the school’s conservative club. One of the activities in which I participated that year was to join a group of hand-picked volunteers to work at that year’s presidential convention, serving as messengers and “go-fers” for the delegates committed to the late great Senator Robert Taft of Ohio. That great man, who was lauded some years later by President John F Kennedy in “Profiles in Courage”, whoch he authored, was a strong supporter of the Jewish state, which had fought its way to independence in 1948-1949.

On and off over the succeeding 65 years, i served the Republican Party. In any case, while I did indeed support various local Democrats for office, I never voted for any liberal for any office higher than that of our county in Wisconsin.

And I can truthfully say I never have had any personal regrets resulting from my political choices.

And all of the above is much of the reason that I became one of the first commenters on Israpundit to commit to support of Donald Trump for the US presidency — irrespective of the abuse that flew in my direction some some of Israpundit’s other commenters, who were supporting either Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz.
