T. Belman. Its time to end proportionality. We must use as much force as is necessary to bring peace to the land. In other words, zero tolerance for terrorism. No more pussy-footing around. Our words must be as bold as our action.
Zvika Fogel from Itamar Ben-Gvir’s extremist party says that Israel is ‘too merciful’ to the Palestinians, and that such an approach must change
Far-right Israeli lawmaker Zvika Fogel expressed his desire to scrap the concept of proportionality in an interview with British broadcaster Channel 4, saying that “if it is one Israeli mother crying, or a thousand Palestinian mothers crying, then a thousand Palestinian mothers will cry.”
“Anyone who wants to harm me, I will harm him back. As far as I’m concerned the concept of proportionality should cease to exist,” Fogel hit back to foreign correspondent Secunder Kermani’s question on Palestinians’ own security needs.
Noting that what he was going to say was “unpleasant,” the lawmaker from Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party said: “If it is one Israeli mother crying, or a thousand Palestinian mothers crying, then a thousand Palestinian mothers will cry.”
“We are too merciful. It’s time for us to stop being so,” Fogel added when he was accused of racism.

You should write an article entitled …”Israel With Hands untied”……
YESHOL-
Are you assuming that the Arab terrorists obey “the Laws of War”..have they ever heard of them>>
If they have, then they are NOT for them but for US.
.You are not serious I hope…!!
PROPORTIONALITY…..
No good. There are 7 mill Jews in Israel and over 400 mill Arasbs world wide, a large number surrounding Israel, maybe 140 mill, not forgetting also Iran which is not Arab but Islamic. Then there’s Iraq, not having been there lately I haven’t counted their numbers…but, say 35-45 mill
So….NO proportionality ……just plain stupid to expect it, or else they want to see Israel wiped out…!!!

“The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation. War is hell. War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen, and I say let us give them all they want.”

The West ties Israel’s hands by demanding proportionality. They do so, not to save Palestinians lives but to save the Palestinian cause. They don’t want us to win.
I addressed proportionality in my article “Don’t muddy the waters” in 2008.

Well Said!
The harsher the response, the more effective its desired outcome will be. Don’t shoot someone throwing a rock – shoot them twice.
In the so-called Laws of War, “proportionality” is defined with respect to a permitted military purpose. The status of Deterrence is not clear – at least to me. Quote: “Deterrence is the threat of force in order to discourage an opponent from taking an unwelcome action.” A poor definition. Sometimes the deterrance is achieved not by THREAT of force but by the USE of force – for instance, when the enemy disregards the threat, either because it is not severe enough, or because the enemy thinks that the threat will not be carried out – for instance, the threats of the USA by President Obama when he talked about “red lines” in Syria.
For Israel to deter Arab terrorists, the only possibility is to make the community of the terrorist suffer – and that sort of act is considered “punishing the innocent bystander”. Is that permitted? What would the laying siege by stopping the electricity and water supply to a town in which a terrorist is hiding, and notifying the town that the siege will continue until the terrorist’s head is handed over?
