Apparently, Sarkozy, Proposes ‘Mediterranean Union’ to build strategic and economic ties between southern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
I cannot imagine that this would be good for Israel though the “state like any other state” crowd in Israel would.
Europe started out with an economic union and ended up with a destruction of sovereignty and national identity.
Is it possible to have a union that leaves intact sovereignty especially over defense and immigration?
