Kerry Compares Boston Victims, Marmara Terrorists

At Istanbul, Secretary of State makes jarring comparison between Boston Marathon terror victims, IHH terror activists killed by Israel.

Speaking at Istanbul, Turkey, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made a jarring comparison between the victims of the Boston Marathon terror bombs and terror activists from the IHH group who were killed when they attacked IDF forces aboard the Mavi Marmara in 2010.

Kerry told his hosts in Turkey that he understands the pain of the families whose loved ones were killed aboard the Marmara – and added that he can understand their pain well, having just dealt with the families whose loved ones were slain in Boston.

Kerry said in his speech that he hopes the Israeli apology will lead to a thawing of Israel-Turkey relations.

Representatives of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arrived in Turkey Sunday, for talks on the compensation Israel will pay Turkey for the deaths of the IHH terror activists. The apology was brokered by U.S. President Barack Obama, as part of a rapprochement between Israel and Turkey that may include security cooperation regarding the Iranian nuclear weapons threat.

  1. A rich leftist attacks IL because he knows that IL contrary to Muslims cannot and will not retaliate. They need too much the little sultan who is going to pay one day or another.
Kurds need their own country. This will stabilize the whole ME whether the Muslims and the West like it or not.
When Jihad attacks the US it is the fault of the terrorists; when they attacks IL it is the fault of IL. This is all about morale relativism.

I do not know if all the Mavi Marmara victims were terrorists. Some were probably just activists.

The only “victims” were the Israelis.
when an illegal act is planned and participated in, such as a robbery or blockade busting, the participants become responsible for any crimes which result.
There is no need to absolve those who did not hold the knife from murder. The “activists”, as you call them, are the accomplices who did not hold the knife. In my opinion all are terrorists and all should die.
Too bad more terror accomplices, accessories and supporters did not die.
    I am disappointed.

At some point we must decide which one to engage, to prioritize

the advantage of an offensive rather than defensive and reactive policy is that one gets to choose which battles are fought and their terms. Israel needs to be offensive in diplomatic and legal terms in order to limit the the options of the enemy.

Most Israelis who have heard or read his crap, have already discounted it based on the source.

we should be grateful that Kerry is already showing himself to be a bigger clown and buffoon than Erdogan; both vying for winner of foot in mouth competition. we could not hope for a greater display of incompetence than what he just served up. Hopefully, he will get media coverage. it’s likely that such a fool will continue to serve up more entertainment than billy carter. Bye Bye kerry peace initiative 🙂

You maybe right but I can tell you it’s very tiresome to most, having always to be on the defensive. In truth even I have little patience for getting involved in every item that deserves to be attacked or defended coming from our enemies in and out of Israel. At some point we must decide which one to engage, to prioritize, to conserve our energy and clout and direct it to those items, incidents and personalities deemed the greatest threats to us and to those we deem we have the best chances of winning.

We are in this battle greatly outgunned and out financed.

Still, his words will be forever on the internet and on Middle East books and he will be quoted all over the world for years to come. ~~~ The international public don’t know his background, other than he held a very important govt job for several years. They will assume he is a patriotic Israeli, not just anybody like one of those crazies from Neturei Karta kissing the Iranian president. ~~~ An attorney general has an aura of knowledge and authority. ~~~ Israelis should not dismiss the serious damage that his words will cause. There really should be widespread condemnation by all Israelis demanding a government statement. Wasn’t the government quick to make a statement accusing alleged Price Tag suspects (a false flag operation) of “terrorism”?

Everybody has corrupt incompetent leaders, sign of the times.

  8. Canadian Otter Said:

Even worse: that he makes those statements unchallenged. Where’s the national outrage?

Everybody in Israel know Ben Yair was the worst most ideological AG we ever had. He was deposed from his job after he negotiated a large compensation package and was never considered for any future public office especially as have other been appointed to the SC. He was lucky he was not indicted for a whole list of offenses many made public before his ouster. He was the Israeli lefts point man much as the current American AG is for Obama.

Most Israelis who have heard or read his crap, have already discounted it based on the source.

In the context of that incident, what in your warped little mind differentiates an activist with an iron pipe, knife or any blunt instrument from a terrorist?

The real activists on the ship is assumed to not have been involved in either the actual attacking of our soldiers and most certainly not in the actual proximity of the boarding by IDF personnel.

Other ships with so called activists posed no resistance to the directives of the IDF and behaved themselves without incident.

I would have sunk the ship after they refused to stop and not attempted to board it? Of course I would have provided them with a life raft and a bottle of water.

    But,certainly Kerry’s metaphor was dishonest.

He sounds much as you do with his false moral equivalence when it comes to Jews or Israel.

Moreover, it signals just exactly where the Obama administration is going. That is scary

The Jewish People remain cursed with the most corrupt leaders

Leaders have come and gone through-out our history, but our people and the Torah remain.

  12. Why blame Kerry when it is the government of Israel that is so debased that no one even notices how they always grovel with no self-respect. Netanyahu allowed Obama to hand him the phone which Netanyahu should have simply hung up and told Obama to go to hell. After the Turks continue to insult Israel in violation of their prior agreement Israel is still willing to pay compensation instead of declaring the agreement broken. The Jewish People remain cursed with the most corrupt leaders who only know how to grovel and betray their country.

  13. I think MK Danon did a fine smack-back on this; just read it at Times of Israel .
Maybe Kerry is setting the table in order to blame Beth Israel Hospital in Boston for being a Mossad-controlled cover for organharvesting of the BrothersTsarnaev?
and, no, not going to apologize for Kerry, though I used to think he has a brain, albeit always disconnected from the flood of words that his voice insists on gurgitating.

  14. This is how bad it gets? Kerry is a wretch for suggesting such a thing. It’s one thing to coddle the Turks, another thing to really believe the swill you are feeding them.

  15. I can’t believe I’am reading before breakfast. I find myself no longer able to speak to those who support this administration, phef.
Thak you Dean for the new vocabulary!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. @ jrob:

True, in the minds of this administration, there are good jihadists and bad jihadists depending on their ever-changing affiliations with most favored nations of the US such as Turkey, Qatar, Saudi, the UAE and Egypt. I am sure that the daily briefings include information about whom the Saudis currently want eliminated and whom they want to protect.

Sometimes the messages get screwed up like when Chechen school boys go freelance and do not follow orders from their western and Saudi paymasters but listen instead to the call of jihad from the other jihadists who are on a more expedited schedule for change in America.

  17. US drones are likely just killing those that resist the State Department backed jihadists. At least US policy would indicate that such is the case.

  18. What next, Kerry? Will you compare the 9/11 victims with those “brave” jihadists whom you kill daily as a result of your drone attacks? Where is the compensation for their families? Oh, I forgot, you reward terrorists by allowing them into the country and government, pay for their schooling, honor the “religion of peace,” and turn them into spies while you ignore the terror plans that take root among them in plain view as you turn a blind eye.

Kerry, part of the administration that refuses to make the great cognitive leap to connect Islamism with terrorism, does not understand why terrorists must be turned away from his shores if they were approaching loaded up with unknown cargo and a boat load of Turkish-sponsored terrorists. America had better watch their apologetic Secretary of State because similar maritime plans for the US are probably contained in some terror handbook and I am sure that by comparing Israel with terrorists who just killed and maimed people in the streets of Boston, he has opened the door for these types of plans to be carried out.

Not only has Kerry just rewarded terrorists and shit on Israel, he has added to the reward of 72 virgins that terrorists get in heaven with a posthumous reward from the USA for attacking Israel, a country that is serious about fighting terrorism in ways that Kerry obviously cannot understand.
