It is the US that is prejudging the outcome of talks

Israel Hayom reports:

The U.S. condemned the approval of construction permits across the Green Line and called for both Israel and the Palestinians to refrain from taking unilateral steps that could hurt the ongoing peace talks.

“Our position on Jerusalem is clear,” U.S. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Wednesday. “We oppose any unilateral actions by either party that attempt to prejudge final status issues, including the status of Jerusalem. We’ve called on both sides to take steps to create a positive atmosphere for the negotiations.”

Now I want our government to say,

“our position is clear. We annexed the eastern part of Jerusalem 30 years ago and intend to build in our sovereign territory. We resent that you are prejudging the final outcome by denying our right to annex and to build.”

  1. To be in sync with the US administration, IL should ban the use of terms “occupation and annexation”. One cannot occupy or annex what is her own! Those who have power believe that they can override right. That is why every single civilization based on power ends up disappearing.

  2. The US position is hilarious because according to the Clinton Parameters – that “every one knows” – in any final peace deal, the Jewish neighborhoods of Jerusalem would become part of Israel!

So why then are the Israeli Left and the US so upset? Unless of course, that “every one knows” postulation had no truth to it in the first place.
