  1. Great shooting better late than never, but remember the Lord reproved the angels for singing when Pharaoh’s army was drowning in the Red/Reed Sea.
Also remember that the IAF killed the original Hizbollah leader one, Somebody Moussavi who was a bit lacklustre. Nasrallah then came in as having climbed a bloody meritocratic ladder and though unwelcome to Israel he was undeniably very able.
Incidentally have others also noted how Moussavi (Moshe – ist) is a noticeable surname in Iranian / Shiite circles? These erstwhile Jewish families converted but their origins have never been forgotten.
Let us just hope that this year’s wars are soon over and that some arrogant clerics and self righteous diplomats learn lessons. (1) You do not set out with impunity to kill off a nation state for solely theological aims – or any others.
    (2) Waffle about NOT killing the opposing leadership because you have to talk with them to make peace does NOT apply when the opposing leadership has made it clear in words (cancer, pigs & monkeys) and actions (harassing fire on civilians, shooting hostages) that they have no intention of making peace.
    (3) Patrons are NOT necessarily sovereign over their clients who have their own priorities starting with staying alive.
    (4) If a patron state pulls too much rug under their client the client will go ahead anyway if it sees itself endangered. If a Patron state abandon’s a client or even jerks the rug under it unduly, it endangers the rest of the Patron’s alliances.
    (5) There are limits to being cynical about humanitarian privilege. Push abuse of the Red Cross and Geneva Conventions till they break and the enemy will backfire your abuse on your good self – as in WW II the Japanese and German Nazis found and deserved.

  2. The Syrians and Lebanese are holding great celebrations with the possible news of Nasrallah’s death. Songs celebrating Bibi as a liberator as well.
