T. Belman. Ben Gvir is right to fiercely oppose any aid to the PA. Bibi and Gallant are absurd to say “it will aid Israeli security interests.” The financial stability of the PA is not our concern. Destroying terrorism is. Supporting the PA is a cop-out. It is done to avoid a conflagration. A conflagration, like in Jenin, is needed.

Senior government officials have harshly criticized the intention to pass “relief measures” for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority.
“This is not what a fully right-wing government looks like,” the Cabinet ministers said. “The Palestinian Authority encourages terror and is receiving a prize from Israel.”
Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant (Likud) believe that supporting the Palestinian Authority and taking steps to help it will aid Israeli security interests.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir (Otzma Yehudit) responded, “I intend to fiercely oppose in the Cabinet meeting the embarrassing decision to provide relief and benefits to the Palestinian Authority.”
“There is no greater absurdity than having the body which encourages terror, pays salaries to terrorists and their families, encourages incitement to murder Jews in the educational system, and takes over territory in Judea and Samaria – receive, at the height of a terror wave – a basket of prizes from the Israeli government. I am sure that the other Cabinet members, ministers of the right-wing government, will agree with my position and not lend a hand to this outrageous proposal.”

According to the report, the ministers are set to decide on the establishment of an industrial zone in the Palestinian Arab city of Tarqumiyah, northwest of Hebron. In addition, the ministers will also discuss the development of the “Marine” gas reservoir off the coast of Gaza.
Diplomatic sources told Channel 13 News that a discussion is also expected to take place on the question of restoring the VIP permits to senior officials in the Palestinian Authority which were revoked by the cabinet in January, after the PA’s promotion of an anti-Israel resolution at the United Nations.
