T. Belman.. ADL is wrong to say that Cruz demonized all Muslims. And wrong to say that terrorism is motivated by a “radical interpretation of Islam”. It is motivated by Islam. There is only one interpretation.
Anti-Defamation League condemns Republican presidential candidate who called for patrols of Muslim neighborhoods.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Tuesday condemned Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, after the Texas Senator called for new powers for law enforcement to patrol “Muslim neighborhoods”.
In a statement issued following the Brussels terrorist attacks, Cruz wrote “Our European allies are now seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods.”
His spokesperson, Alice Stewart, later clarified that the statement meant there should be a strong presence of law enforcement in neighborhoods with significant Muslim populations.
In response, ADL CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt said Cruz’s call was “demonizing all Muslims.”
“As we saw in Brussels today, violent terrorism is a legitimate concern for the home front. But demonizing all Muslims is a misguided and counterproductive response to the terrorist threat posed by those motivated by a radical interpretation of Islam. It is an irrational approach that harkens back to the fear and bigotry that led to a dark and tragic chapter in American history – the relocation of more than 100,000 Japanese-Americans to internment camps during the Second World War simply because of their ethnicity,” Greenblatt wrote in a statement.
“The overwhelming majority of Muslims in America are law-abiding people who are as outraged by terrorism and bigotry as Americans of every other faith. Sweeping generalizations about them can serve only to foment discrimination and hate crimes against innocent, devoted Americans. Furthermore, our law enforcement agencies need the cooperation of Muslim communities and community leaders to combat and deter crimes, including violent extremism,” he added.
“Ordering special patrols of Muslim neighborhoods will almost certainly create an adversarial relationship between law enforcement and the communities they have sworn to protect, making those communities more vulnerable, more frightened, and often less willing to help. The approach is contrary to the principles of individual rights, equality, justice, and religious freedom on which this nation was founded,” wrote Greenblatt.
Muslim leaders and organizations are also loudly opposing Cruz’s comments. A spokesperson for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which is said to have Hamas links, said, “It’s really beyond belief that you have one of the leading presidential candidates calling for law enforcement to target religious communities totally based on the fact that they are of a particular faith.”
@ bernard ross: Trump’s AIPAC speech, if analyzed openmindedly supports Ross. You are a broken record Babu, and your record is of Tiny Tim singing Tiptoe in the tulips….how much more of this babushkababble do you have within you?

even you should notice that I am not “mindless” in my posts. So far, on Trump, in spite of all the media and political attempts to pretend he is a clown going nowhere, my prognostications on his progression have been basically accurate. The same ones who predicted that he would have been knocked out ages ago are predicting that Hillary can beat him at the polls… those same ones never imagined or predicted last july that Trump would be the forerunner by a large margin. You would be more accurate to call the universe “mindless” when it does not deliver your predictions. I predicted that he would have a much bigger following than folks thought and that the GOP would try everything to kill his progress.
An example of the difference between Cruz and Trump is how they bothe frame the muslim issue now. In my view the Cruz suggestion is foolish.. he talks about patrolling muslim neighborhoods with a visible presence whereas Donald talks about keeping them out. bombings dont happen in muslim neighborhoods and they would not happen under the eyes of visible patrols. Trumps solutions is much better, no comparison. Cruz is still pussyfooting with PC trying to frame the problem as a policing issue rather than a security and war issue. It is intelligence which needs operating in muslim mosques, meetings, orgs…. Cruz is foolish if he thinks a visible patrol in muslim neighborhoods will do anything, he wants to treat it like drug dealing and gangs but it is much more existentially dangerous and much more akin to war and 5th column behavior. Cruz failed in a fast off the cuff solution whereas Trump successfully and immediately analyzed the problem and solution correctly. I am not worried about muslim neighborhood crime…. its airports and trains where the crimes happen but it is in intelligence where it is prevented. Foolish Cruz thinks that sending more cops on patrol is the answer.

no, much further now than a theory. I have tested it many times in the last few years whenever BB behavior is not logically explained by other theories. when i first mentioned it neither BB nor the others mentioned relations with the gulf arabs but since then it is mentioned often. Even in his latest speech to aipac he again speaks glowingly of his relations with the arab neighbors and so have others in gov. It has explained so many things more logically than any other narrative I hear. Most of the soft dealing with the pals and hamas is based on his wanting to maintain his understandings and goals with them. They in return have been working behind the scenes to leash hamas and the MB using egypt, their proxy. Both BB and abbas appear to engage in a cyclical game or drama of threats and resolution in order to pass time and maintain both as in conflict. He is now always talking about the concept that he will get a better overall deal with the arabs. there is no better explanation of his behavior and motives that I have yet come across. I think that he and abbas agree much more than we think but that neither can tell that to the street.

President Barack Obama conceded Wednesday that a two-state solution to bring peace between the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority won’t happen under his administration — and claimed that the failure was, at least in part, due to Israel’s continued economic success.
The admission came during a town hall forum in Argentina, when Obama told the crowd that “because Israeli society has been so successful economically, it has, I think, from a position of strength, been less willing to make concessions” to the Palestinians.
The United States and Argentina sealed a major trade deal on the eve -the first day of President Barack Obama’s visit- bolstering the efforts of his counterpart to end a decade-and-a-half of international financial isolation.
“On the other hand, the Palestinians, because of weakness, have not the political cohesion and organization to enter into negotiations and feel like they can get what they need — and so both sides just go to their separate corners,” Obama continued.
He said his administration has worked hard for a negotiated peace, particularly Secretary of State John Kerry.
“We have worked and worked and worked. Last year and the year before that, John Kerry, that poor man, he was flying back and forth and taking messages back and forth. I was making phone calls,” Obama said. “Ultimately, we can’t do it for them. The tragedy of the situation there is until the population of both people recognize the truth, which is they are going to be living together one way or another. The question is, are you going to be living together with check points and people being stabbed in hatred, or are you going to be living together in a way that creates hope and optimism for your children?”
He admitted it won’t be one of his accomplishments: “It’s been 60 years it’s not going to happen in the next nine months.”

@ Keli-A:
It is difficult for me to believe. I was brought up differently.
The ADL long ago stopped defending Jews against anti-Semites by protecting Moslems and Islam from criticism. The sacred doctrines of Islam require Moslems to make war against the Jews and either subjugate the Jews to Islamic rule or to kill them. The Moslems, as a group, are the worst enemies of the Jews, and the ADL, instead of exposing them, attacks those who do expose Islamic anti-Semitism. The ADL has become a traitor to the Jewish people.

Keli-A Said:
Do you really believe this of BB.?
@ bernard ross:
BB has long accepted OSLO and it operative inferred border and broader provisions for a Pali state…. His problem as with previous governments are the settlers….. He would prefer to extricate them on the cheap by increasing pressure even murder of Jews to weaken-resolve and force the weaker less ideological ones to leave on their own with out the need to compensate them. In the end he has as did Olmert Sharon and Barack accepted loss of Y&S and all current and future negotiations and conflict is over about 7% containing Jewish suburbs of Jerusalem in the eastern part of Jerusalem environs and those settlement hugging the green line…. That explains all of BB’s moves and non moves since elected. There is no urgency by any of the parties to change current status quo nor does there seem to be any real interest….. as for your pet GCC theory it remains just that still, your theory…..Looks like the Russian are moving in to replace the Americans with the Saudis and the Russians have stopped delivery to Iran of their last SAM system… The Saudis are pragmatic.

As you have exhibited.
You obviously did not bother to read the comments of ross and bee. A wise choice worthy of emulation.
There is no intellectual component to Israeli negotiations, only a futile desire to be loved. Winning wars and then begging the vanquished for peace is a uniquely Jewish pathology.
