The question that I kept asking throughout this excellent analysis is: ‘what’s the difference?’
Bibi did all these deals behind the scenes and what is clear now is that he had to keep giving away all this land. So, what’s the difference between Bibi and what’s happening now, except that the conflict will be more out in the open?
During the last ten years I’ve been in Israel, I’ve seen Bibi give away the Negev to the Bedouins, the north is all but gone now (my relatives in Karmiel and others report). And as the last war shows, Arabs are everywhere now ready to do hang-to-hand fighting in the streets of every town, village and city in Israel. And what about Netanyahu’s first treasonous term when he gave away Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem and 40 other territories in the Wye Memorandum?
So, what’s the difference? Lapid is unquestioningly a moron. Bennett seems to be untrustworthy. I’m not defending anyone, all MKs are garbage and that’s been the case for decades. I’m just wondering how is all this any different to what’s gone on before. It is Bibi after all that has brought us to this place.
