    We KNOW the truth, you jackass. The chinese are responsible. The only question is whether intentional or the virus accidentally escaped from that Wuhan lab. Considering the timing; an American election year, Trump finally pushing back against China’s years of ripping us off, the American economy booming, its hard to believe it was coincidental.

    That you would even consider Chinese communist propaganda that American soldiers brought it to china reveals what a piece of shit you are to tarnish our servicemen that way in defense of the chicoms.

  3. Though the plot has nothing to do with China. The villain is a corrupt corporation that has infliltrated the government and NIS (equivalent of CIA) and bribes officials to buy military applicitons it doesn’t need and assassinates those who doesn’t comply. Incidentally, it’s not 40 eipisodes. it’s 32 and an additional 8 behind the scenes episodes.

  4. Korean dramas are very popular in China. Many Korean actors appear in Chinese dramas, as well.

  5. Not to be paranoid but what if this is a case of life imitating art, rather than art predicting life. If this was released deliberately, could they have gotten the idea from the show? We know that, Arthur C. Clarke’s “2001, Mel Brooks’ “Get Smart” and Gene Roddenberry’s “Star Trek” envisioned futuristic gadgets that nobody had ever thought of but that influenced future inventors who stated as much in documentaries.

    This coronavirus IS unique in structure among the rest of the known coronavirus family, and the explanation is extremely technical.
    The fight is now centered on whether it was naturally produced or engineered in a lab, and if it was a lab creation – whose virus specialists did it and why.
    The American government blames the Chinese, the Chinese blame the Americans whose military men were in China in October 2019, and the truth may never come out.
    In the meantime, we are arguing here about the ACTUAL case/death numbers which are still quite low and the PREDICTED case/death numbers which are enormously high.

  14. @ Ted Belman: Uncanny, yes. But let’s look at what is so uncanny about it.

    Disease control professionals have been worrying about and predicting a pandemic for years. The coronaviruses had caught their attention because of their similarity to the SARS and MERS viruses, which they believed had caused many deaths in past flu seasons.The scriptwriters for the Korean show about an “outbreak” contacted disease control professionals to research their horror story. Then these professionals shared their anxieties with the scriptwriters.

    Two years later disease-control specialists convinced themselves that what they had feared for years would happen someday was actually happening now. This occurs very easily when one has negative expectations It is a case of self-fulfilling prophecy.

    First you “predict” that a calamity will happen, then you become convinced it actually is happening.

    This is hard to do if the predicted calamity is something that everyone could see if it ever happened, like a nuclear war. But it is easy to claim that a “pandemic” is happening at any time, since people can’t see or hear it. No mushroom cloud, no asteroid strike from outer space causing a huge explosion. A pandemic is invisible, like the invisible demons that supposedly attacked the “afflicted children” in the Salem panic years ago. But you can make it seem visible by imposing all sorts of regulations that make people miserable, prevent them from interacting with each other, persuading them to go to a hospital if they feel a little sick, etc. Once you urge people who feel a little sick to go to a hospital for “testing,” you can claim that the hospitals are “overwhelmed” with patients, etc.

    That is what has happened. For several years, disease-control “experts” convinced themselves that the coronavirus family of viruses would mutate into a deadly virus, although they had no solid evidence that this would happen. Then they shared their concerns with the writers for a TV horror show. Two years later, they convinced themselves that the “pandemic” they had feared for years was actually happening. Finally they talked everyone around the world to believe them.

    What is uncanny about all this is the human capacity for self-delusion and irrational fear and self-inflicted disasters.

  16. I retract my earlier suggestion that “My Secret, Terries” is “wothless propaganda.” I was wrong. A little internet research has enabled me to learn that it is an authentic Korean TV drama series that ran in 2018.

    However it is not evidence that it “predicted” the coronavirus epidemic. Nor is it evidence that COVID -19 has a 90 per cent fatality rating, or that it was scientifically engineered by Chinese scientists to kill of the human race.

    The word “coronavirus” has been around for some time. Coronaviruses have also been around for some time. It is true, as the fictional show says, that “SARS, MERS and the common flu” were all associated with coronaviruses, going back I believe to 2011 at least.

    What is supposedly new is a new strain of coronavirus that was supposedly discovered by a Chinese medical researcher in November 2019. This allegedly new virus strain is also related to the SARS virus, and hence has been given a second name (which I forget; can some one remind me of it?) which contains the acronym “SARS” in it.

    COVID-19 does not have a 90 percent death rate.

    It is quite possible, however, that the Chinese medical researcher, and perhaps other Chinese doctors as well, had watched the show, either in its original showing or Netflix on demand streams, and when a new mutation of coronavirus showed up, were consciously or unconsciously convinced that it was a terrible killer virus. In other words, the Chinese doctors were influenced by the show to panic when this new coronavirus mutation showed up to panic, and to induce the whole world to panic.

    Actually, new viruses and mutations of existing viruses happen every year. It is a part of the evolutionary process that has been going on for three billion plus years. There was and is no rational basis or scientific evidence that COVID-19 is more deadly than the other coronaviruses, whichare associated with the the common cold.

    Even if COVID-19 is associated with or triggers a more deadlyflu, as the SARS or MERS viruses did, which is possible, we need to remember that those viruses caused only a small number of deaths worldwide, and there have been few cases of either since 2018-19.

    When it comes right down to do it, viruses and virus-connected illnesses have always existed and will always exist. The mass panic by educated people who should know better is something new, and terrible.

    Worthless? To whom? Everyone in the US age 65 and older is now a member of the lower caste whose freedoms and civil rights have been permanently infringed.

  19. A worthless scare story. Our enemies don’t need to create a virus that causes a 90 per cent death rate to hurt us . All they need to do is scare us, because we are easily panicked. They have done that.

    P,S. death rate from those with coronavirus in the their bodies is probably about 001 per cent. No one knows, or probably ever will know, though, because no genuine epidemiologal studies have been conducted.

    This is shaping up to be one of the worst and most harmful frauds in human history. Dr. Anthony Fauci is one of history’s wrst criminals.
