Zionist Spirit’s Jeremy Saltan interviewed on their policies

I watched the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes of the 80 minute interview.

I was not happy with what Jeremy said. He double down on what Shaked and Hendler have said.

He reiterated that ZS wants a National Unity government. He believes that’s the best thing for Israel because it balances extremes. He wants right wing policies,  left wing democracy and security. He defines this as the Zionist Spirit. I am totally against the left’s definition of democracy. I trust the right in this regard.

I also trust the right to protect us and not the likes of Lapid and Gantz.

He also stands by the coalition government and is proud of what it accomplished. He wants more of the same. In so doing he ignores what is happening in Area C and the Negev.

He reiterated that they don’t want a 61 seat majority government because it makes it too vulnerable to collapse. He didn’t comment on 62 seat  or more government. His concern, I believe, is that if there is only a 61 seat government then a couple of detractors from Smoltrich or Ben Gvir might bring down the government. On this I totally disagree.  I think that if the only alternative is a rightwing government of 61 seats it will be more stable than the last coalition. In addition, if they cross the threshold, it is more likely that will will get a right wing majority of 62 0r 63 seats. Does he have problems with that? Is ZS going to kill the coalition if it is not “democratic” enough in its eyes? That’s my concern.

He describes right wing policies as supporting Israel as the nation state of the Jews but doesn’t comment on the importance of extending sovereignty t0 Area C. To me that’s the most important issue. Why is ZS silent on that issue.

I told him that I wanted to interview him of these issues for about 20 minutes.  He is amenable to it.
