Zelensky Wants US Troops in Ukraine

Peloni:  How crazy would the Americans have to be to follow the clarion call of the man who saw his own nation sewn into an ever reducing Rump, who betrayed his own constitution on a number of details not the least of which was his own re-election, and who has an ever insatiable appetite for endless war.  Indeed, as Zelensky is running out of Ukrainian youths who might be shoved into an unmarked vehicle and delivered to the Ukrainian front, he now countenances that this lack of available cannon fodder should be filled with the youth of America.

He also wants Putin replaced

Volodymyr Zelensky speaks at U.N. General Assembly (YouTube)

I think his summary is fair enough. But it is not the real text. Zelensky really thinks he can get NATO (led by the United States) to commit air power and troops to fight in Ukraine. That is why he is campaigning for Kamala Harris in swing states, including Pennsylvania, because he knows that the American troops cannot be dispatched until after Harris wins the election.

Democrats Host Zelensky in Pennsylvania | National Review

How do you force Russia to the negotiating table, you ask?  You give Ukraine lots of long range missiles to pummel Russian territory, destroying infrastructure and causing immense civilian casualties.  Here, again, there is a subtext. Putin is weak and unpopular, the Russian state is crumbling, and if things get worse he will be ousted from power, opening the way for a more reasonable and chastised Russia.

Zelensky and others in Ukraine, such as Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, and their friends in the UK, perhaps some at the NSC, promote the idea of an overthrow of Putin supporting the thesis by citing the case of former Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died in a jet plane explosion in August, 2023 and who led a “revolt” against Putin.  Prigozhin, a visible leader of the Wagner group, an illicit billionaire, and a “friend” of Putin led a squad of malcontent Wagnerians into an invasion of Russian territory, after Prigozhin claimed that in the battle for Bakhmut the regular army shortchanged him and allowed hundreds of his men to be sacrificed, lacking air cover and artillery support.  His forces were welcomed, it seems, in Rostov-on-Don, although coming off a victory in Bakhmut made them national heroes, not exactly revolutionaries.  Starting a military drive to Moscow, Putin was prepared to destroy Prigozhin and his forces, but Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, brokered a deal.  Prigozhin did not stick to the deal and on one of his forays in Moscow, boarded his airplane that apparently exploded in flight, not far from Russia’s capital.

Remains of Prigozhin’s plane

The other candidate for overthrowing Putin is the late Alexei Navalny.  He represented the left opposition to Putin. He did run for Mayor of Moscow in 2013 and garnered around 27.2% of the vote.  He had been out of Russia for medical treatment after being poisoned with Novichok, a Russian-developed nerve agent.  Navalny was told not to return to Russia but did so anyway.  He was arrested, put on trial and sent to a high security prison where he died.  Navalny campaigned on an anti-corruption theme and directly attacked Moscow’s leaders as thieves and crooks. Navalny narrated and produced sophisticated presentations trying to destroy Putin and Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president and deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council.

Navalny certainly had western support, although not much is known about how much help he actually received.

Navalny funeral

Neither Prigozhin or Navalny were able to take down Putin. At present there is no candidate to do so beyond these two deceased players. In fact this is what is odd about the Zelensky thesis is that it is supported by UK intelligence and top UK leaders. How much real support it has in the CIA and at the NSC is not clear.

Crocus City Hall on fire, photo via Twitter

The real internal threat in Russia seems to be from assassins and killers, including terror groups who have been able to set off bombs at key industrial, military and infrastructure targets, kill Russian political and military officials and Russia nationalist supporters, and who carried out the brutal attack last March on the Crocus theater complex that killed at least 60.  In some cases Russian citizens have been recruited by Ukrainian operatives to carry out terror attacks.  In the Crocus attack the shooters were linked to ISIS (from so-called Khorasan province, ISIS-K, in Afghanistan and Pakistan) but the Russians claim that they were backed by Ukraine.

None of the above indicates any threat to the current regime significant enough to force a change in leadership.  There is even less certainty or clarity on what group might emerge in charge of Russia if Putin was overthrown or died.  When you listen to the rantings of some Russian politicians and TV personalities, you wonder what would happen if they really were in power.  Would they use nuclear weapons, blaming Ukraine, the UK and the United States?

Similarly the calls for deep strikes on Russian territory also invites the same sort of risk of resorting to nuclear weapons by Russia. While it is unlikely that Putin would use such armaments, the same can’t be said if he is replaced by more extreme leaders.

Zelensky’s “dream” of replacing Putin or even putting Putin on trial is just political theater, and not very smart theater.  His chance of success is virtually nil.

The idea of sending in NATO and US troops, of course, is even worse as an alternative because Russia would respond by unleashing war on Europe and the United States.  Everyone knows that to be the case, but it may happen anyway as Ukraine’s army crumbles and no western leader, let alone a new President Harris, would want to accept defeat.  Instead of supporting a diplomatic initiative, the Biden-Harris administration is following Zelensky down the rat hole.

  1. Iran (& its proxies Hezi, Hamas, Houtis….), Russia, China are all enemies of Israel now either through direct war actions or supplying of weapons and political support. Doubt if that changes if the Ukraine war stops.

  2. @Rafi
I entirely agree. More than this, though, that unnecessary war has led to a financial and energy crisis around the world, and has remodeled geopolitical associations which have largely only benefited China and her minion around the world. Hence ending that war would be a major benefit for the entire world, outside of China.

  3. If Trump could get Ukraine war stopped that would be good for Ukrainians and Russians as both sides are literally bleeding.

  4. @Michael

Just as The USSR and Germany jointly started WWII with the invasion of Poland, Russia and NATO jointly started WWIII with the invasion of Ukraine.

WWII began with the betrayal of Checkosylvakia, just as the Ukraine war began with the US overthrow of Ukraine (which actually began back in 2003 and was completed in 2014).

  5. @Michael

I cannot argue with Peloni, because he threatens to ban me if I do

False. I warned you to stop using ad hominem attacks. If this is all you have to support your arguments, then indeed you have no argument to make. So, share your arguments as best you can without the acrimonious personal attacks which you were making when I issued the warning which you seem inclined to hide behind. You are an intelligent man, and you are capable of distinguishing what is and is not an ad hominem attack, but if I am mistaken in this conclusion and you need some assistance in discriminating between what is and is not a fair argument, you can find some help here:
    https://philosophy.lander.edu/logic/person.html

  6. Tianna,

You are wrong. I haven’t supported either side, and you can believe me. I cannot argue with Peloni, because he threatens to ban me if I do; but I will answer you. Let me make my position clear, which I have maintained up to now:

    1. The US should not commit troops to Ukraine. Whose side does that put me on?

    2. Joe Biden & Co. lured Putin into invading. Whose side does that put me on.

    3. Putin invaded Ukraine — both in 2014 and 2022. This is simply a statement of fact, of objective, undeniable observation: The troops came from Russia into Ukraine; EVERYONE knows this. It is not taking sides.

    4. Despite claims of imminent victory for the past 2 1/2 years, NEITHER SIDE has gained a significant advantage beyond the first few months. This is the truth; speaking the truth is not “taking sides”.

Tanna, My only interest in this war of Biden, Obama and Putin, is that it is the beginning of WWIII — not the “leadup” to WWIII, but the start of it. Just as The USSR and Germany jointly started WWII with the invasion of Poland, Russia and NATO jointly started WWIII with the invasion of Ukraine.

If these things don’t disturb you, that’s your problem; and if you ARE genuinely concerened, you would be praying and not wasting your breath with the mudslinging here that passes for “discussion”.

    Over, and out.

  7. I haven’t taken either side in this war

This is perhaps the most unbeleivable statement you have ever made, and yet you like to make it over and over, as if it gives your views some form of gravitas. Well, speaking for myself, I just find it humorous. Judging from Tanna’s comment, I see I am not the only one to read your words in utter disbelief. But if it makes you feel better to make such a statement, well just keep telling yourself
“I haven’t taken sides, I haven’t taken sides, I hate that Russian dog who invaded poor Ukraine, but I haven’t taken sides…”

  8. Michael, I can’t believe your last 4/5 lines. I have no dog in this race either, but the side you argue is the side you support. You seem like a man confuse while watching football. (I want to draw a stronger mental picture, but better sense overrode my left/right hand). the object of the game- the goal of the game- tells you the why? of every play. An among all of the regular commentors, probably the most religiously out spoken.

Look what the United States has done to the people of every country we have ever invaded. the life, the death, blood, destruction, sickness, lives destroyed forever. Don’t argue the end justifies the means. –
If Russia had done nothing, do you really think, there would have been peace in Europe, Ukraine and Russia.

In the analogy of football, if the two teams were told that the looser of the game would be taken to the 50-yard line and shot in the head, you better dam well believe the game would be played quite different then it is now. Even while playing by the same rules.

  9. BTW Peloni,

You have been staunchly defending Putin’s dealings, in many ways. You certainly have a right to take a partisan stand in this; but I fail to see how that stand benefits anyone but Putin. The Russians don’t benefit; the Ukrainians don’t benefit; the Americans don’t benefit, and the Israelis certainly don’t benefit.

Israel is, in fact, at war with a coalition of Iranians, Russians, Chinese, North Koreans and lesser actors. All these parties are supporting one another in their war effort. The Iranians supply drones to Russia, and receive compensation for it. Similarly, the Chinese support the Russians, militarily and diplomatically. The North Koreans supply the Russians with artillery shells, and have in the past cooperated with the Iranians in their nuclear weapons development progreams. All these parties consistently vote against Israel in the UN — including most recently, where they voted against and Ukraine abstained.

As I said, you have the right to stand with any side you want; it just makes me wonder why you make such a point of it.

I hope you realize that I agree with almost everything the OP says. I haven’t taken either side in this war, and I certainly don’t want American lives and treasure drained into it.

    @Michael
Drop the ad hominem attacks or your comments will be moderated. Instead let us look at the false statements which you support as accurate and the facts which demonstrate that they are indeed false.

Seeing that your statements lately are almost entirely false I fail to see how your own attacks are anything but ad hominem. Your are calling me a liar, without basis. Nonetheless, since the alternative is censorship, I will be escpecially careful to be nice to you.

Adam did not reference that article or any other article and instead made a factual misstatement that Zelensky was still “is still serving his first and only term.”

Zelenskyy IS serving his first and only term, so you, contrary to your wonderful nature, might be considered by some to be lying — that is, unless he is somehow able to serve a second term after this Russia-caused martial law is ended.

Adam did not reference that article or any other article

So? Who said that he did?

More than this, Adam also states that. Absolutely nothing in Ukrainianj or Western sources about Ukrainian youths being shoved into unmarked cars and taken to the front.

So? Adam didn’t see your “simple” search As a matter of fact, neither have I seen it. I can show you dozens of reliable references with video and photographic evidence of the Russians doing much worse. None of that is here nor there. It does not make Adam nor I liars, as you’ve falsely accused us.

The Ukrainian sources say that young men under the age of 27 who don’t want to serve are permitted to leave the country.

Again, Adam FACTUALLY, according to you, represented what the Ukrainian source said; yet you have called his statements generally false.

Adam has, in every case, shown himself to be honest and honorable. If standing up for him is somehow “ad hominem, there is a semantic problem here. I came here, seeing you verbally beating up on Adam, and I came to defend him. I make no apology for that.

  11. @Michael
Drop the ad hominem attacks or your comments will be moderated. Instead let us look at the false statements which you support as accurate and the facts which demonstrate that they are indeed false.

Adam did not reference that article or any other article and instead made a factual misstatement that Zelensky was still “is still serving his first and only term.” This is completely false and your efforts to prove him right has only stipulated what I stated:

his first term expired on May 20, 2024, making this the 6th year of his first 5-year term

More than this, Adam also states that

Absolutely nothing in Ukrainianj or Western sources about Ukrainian youths being shoved into unmarked cars and taken to the front.

But a simple search shows the following Guardian article with a video displaying exactly this:
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/aug/15/bribes-and-hiding-at-home-the-ukrainian-men-trying-to-avoid-conscription

    Adam also states that

The Ukrainian sources say that young men under the age of 27 who don’t want to serve are permitted to leave the country.

Again, this is simply a factually incorrect statement. As cited in the Kiev Independent, which is a Ukrainian source,

Under martial law, Ukrainian men between the ages of 18–60, with some exceptions, are not allowed to leave the country because they could be called up for military service.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/bbc-650-000-conscription-aged-055712780.html

So as I stated before, your support of Adam’s incorrect statements is not very well supported, and this is because they are factually wrong. But do read the articles cited here, or the sources which you ignored before, and tell me what facts any of these sources have misstated on these points. Perhaps you will do better than suggesting that Adam was correct in stating that Zel was still in his first term, but I doubt it.

  12. Peloni,

Can you say even a truthful word? (Don’t answer that — it will be a lie).

Adam brought reference to the following:

    Marcin J?drysiak

Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidential term came to an end on 20 May. According to the Ukrainian constitution, the head of state holds office for five years and performs their duties until a newly elected successor takes office. Elections are usually held on the last Sunday of March in the fifth year of the president’s term.

Such a vote should formally have been held this month, but that did not take place as the current act on the legal regime of martial law explicitly prohibits the government from holding presidential elections, parliamentary elections, referendums or amending the constitution as long as the act is in force. The provisions of this act also extend the term of office of the head of state until the day when a president elected after the end of martial law is sworn in.

    https://www.osw.waw.pl/en/publikacje/analyses/2024-05-20/president-until-end-war-volodymyr-zelenskys-term-office-extended

The reference you cited on the Candace Owens article contained nothing of substance — just more of your eternal nonsensical defence of Putin.

Look, for some reason you are in love with this Russian jerk. Adam and Bear, obviously, are not. He attacked a country, and has brought about the death of perhaps a million people. He made that mess, and he should clean it up.

  13. @Michael

    citing CANDACE OWENS

Wrong again, I didn’t cite Owens. You only need to click the link and actually read what is written to discover this.

And Adam did not present any idea for me to edit. He corrected me and stated that Zelensky “has not vio;ated his own constitution by running for reelection, since he is still serving his first and only term” which is factually wrong. So I guess you didn’t even read what Adam wrote to which you were agreeing. Which makes your comment even more ironic.

  14. Weasel friend,

your support of his conclusion of Zelensky not over extending his sell by date

Adam didn’t make a CONCLUSION. He presented his ideas to you for editing, and you were unable to — citing CANDACE OWENS as a reference. Go away and come back again!

  15. @Michael

I agree with Adam on all points

Did you bother to read any of the sources which I posted just a few hours ago? Even one? Did you even read the titles of the sources I listed? Or did you simply look at the link to gain the support of Adam’s comments. Since you mention Candace Owens, I assume you only did the latter, since if you had actually clicked on the link you would not have seen me referencing her in any form. If you had made even the briefest inspection of what I wrote, you would have known that. Hence, your support of Adam here does not actually offer him much support.

And your support of his conclusion of Zelensky not over extending his sell by date as president certainly taints your support as troublesome, because you are both quite wrong on this point which is not up for debate, interpretation or discussion. Zelensky failed to hold elections this past year, and is currently no more representative of his people than was Abu Mazen in the year after he failed to hold elections in the PA.

Given all of this, one statement which you made seems somewhat ironic:

EVERYONE is lying, to one degree or another

So, I am afraid that you are not the only one laughing.

  16. Peloni,

I agree with Adam on all points, and see no reason to accept your “sources” as disinterested parties. CANDACE OWENS??? Come on!.

What I seem to find these past few years, in being eposed to the MSN and alternative media alike, is a continuous stream of one self-interested person after another, trying to scare the pants off of everyone. EVERYONE is lying, to one degree or another and in one direction or another, definitely including you (and Adam has called you on it). You said,

This is quite silly. Why would I state something which I didn’t even believe?

Well, well! Why would you tell us you were telling the truth, if you were a liar? Do you take all your readers for fools as well? Or have you even fooled yourself? Stop this nonsense!

You, I, Adam, all of us get an endless stream of information, ALL OF IT generated by liars. We get the lies, the damned lies and the statistics. All of this qualifies as what the late Herman Cain called “The Noise Machine”. When everyone gets fed up with these “facts”, here’s some real TRUTH that will never let you down:

    Pss.2
[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Hashem, and against his anointed, saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

I plan to laugh with Him.

  17. Adam
Zelensky’s term of office does NOT expire in 2025. If you look up the Ukrainian constitution, you will see that the president is to have no more than a 5year term, and Zel’s term began back in 2019. In fact, his first term expired on May 20, 2024, making this the 6th year of his first 5-year term, with his current hold on power being quite illegitimate.

As to the sources supporting my views, I have posted a non-exhaustive list for you a year ago, but not of late. Here is that list:
    https://www.israpundit.org/fk-ukraine-candace-owens-explains-why-america-should-not-support-ukraine/comment-page-2/#comment-63356000265578

One source which I added in an addendum somewhere to this list was the work of Ivan Katchanovski. He is the Ukrianian Canadian who identified the Waffen SS Nazi Hunka which was celebrated in the parlaiments of both Canada and Ukraine. The greater input of his work over the years however is related to both the Maidan Coup and the Ukrainian and international coverup which was put in place to hide the reality of the Coup being a coup. In any event, he should have been included in the list of sources I put forward above.

I generally hold the texts to have stood the test of time, even as I have less interest in the podcasters which I once took some interest. One new podcaster which has greatly impressed me of late with his highly unbiased review of daily events, while still having an imperfect view of things IMO, is Willie OAM. He is very different from the likes of Dima and Denys, who share a good bit of propaganda in addition to what facts they share which dilutes from their conversation, again IMO. In any event, I hope something here satisfies your curiousity, even if you find it less than persuasive. You have indicated lately of having a strong bias on these topics. In fact many people are swayed by the Memory Wars of Eastern Europe. I have no such connection to either side, and am not tied to the narratives of either Ukraine or Russia simply because it came from one or the other. I do however find that the Ukrainians are less fothright in many respects and quite dispicable in their support of and praise for Nazi elements in their society. Of course, for more on this you can check out the X account of Eduard Dolinsky who has been fighting antisemitism in Ukraine for nearly twenty years.

If you are still unwilling to share your sources with me, I will interpret this as meaning you don’t really believe them yourself.

This is quite silly. Why would I state something which I didn’t even believe?

  18. As usual, my”parallel universe” tells a completely different story about each and every point in Peloni’s anti=Zelensky rant. For one thing, he has not vio;ated his own constitution by running for reelection, since he is still serving his first and only term. If an independent Ukraine still exists in 2025, which has begun to look dubious, he could conceivably run for reelection, but he has not announced his candicacy, and Ukrainian sources say he is unlikely to ru for a second term. Absolutely nothing in Ukrainianj or Western sources about Ukrainian youths being shoved into unmarked cars and taken to the front. What makes this extremoly unlikely, even if we assume that the Ukrainian government is evil, which I don’t, all Ukrainian and Western sources report that the men fighting on the front lines are nearly all over forty years of age, because all of the younger men have already either been killed in action, suffered disabling wounds, or have left the country. The Ukrainian sources say that young men under the age of 27 who don’t want to serve are permitted to leave the country. Although this is unusual for a country at war to be given this permission. There are said to be over a million Ukrainians of military age in Poland, Germany, Britain, Ireland and elsewhere. Within the past month the Ukrainian government has asked them to return, but only with in the past month.

Peloni, please share with me the sources for your version of events. Ihave asked you to do this repeatedly. But each time you say you don’t have time, but will do so later at some unspecified time. But you never have followed through. and provided me with these sources. Please do so now so I can check out these sources for myself.

If you are still unwilling to share your sources with me, I will interpret this as meaning you don’t really believe them yourself.

If you are unwilling to share these sou

  19. I think there will be at least one and possibly two more attempts by the Deep State to assassinate Trump. They want to keep him out of Washington at all costs. But I don’t think they will be successful, because God has His hand on Trump. Therefore, should Trump win the election, they will move to Plan B:

Between Election Day the first week in November and Inauguration Day the first week in January, the Deep State, via the White House and London, will send precision long-range missiles to Ukraine, along with U.S. operators to man the launchers, and green-light their use against Moscow. This will cause Putin to detonate a high-altitude nuclear bomb over Kiev, so that the widespread EMP sends Ukraine back to the 7th Century. Note that Ukraine is not a NATO country, so Article 5 would not be triggered. But I believe NATO (a.k.a. the U.S. and U.K.) will retaliate, and WWIII will be on.

If the Deep State cannot stop Trump from being President, they will hand him WWIII on a silver platter. However — and this is important — it is completely in God’s plan that Donald Trump should be the world leader prosecuting the war, not Kamila Harris. Just one man’s opinion.
