Yale Study: Natural Immunity Protects Against COVID Three Times Longer Than Vaccine

To their dismay, the Yale School of Public Health just concluded that immunity acquired by COVID-19 infection lasts three times longer and is stronger than that provided by vaccination. Naturally, the Yale Daily News downplayed the info under the headline, “COVID-19 reinfection is likely among unvaccinated individuals, Yale study finds.”The Yale study concluded that the risk of COVID-19 reinfection stands at 5% at three months after recovery and decreases to 50% at 17 months. By contrast, COVID-19 vaccine protection against infection can wane to a mere 20% as early as five months after full vaccination. Now, I may not be a Fauci-approved Scientist, but I’m also not stupid.Related: Natural Immunity for the WIN! Israeli Study Suggests COVID-19 Vaccine Policies Should Change Now

The Yale study joins the ever-growing compendium of studies that attest to the superiority of natural immunity over-vaccination for protection from COVID infection. It’s worth clicking over to the linked article because you probably had no idea there was already so much Science! proving the point.

Here are a few highlights from the Blaze Media listicle by Daniel Horowitz:

New York University, May 3, 2021

The authors studied the contrast between vaccine immunity and immunity from prior infection as it relates to stimulating the innate T-cell immunity, which is more durable than adaptive immunity through antibodies alone. They concluded, “In COVID-19 patients, immune responses were characterized by a highly augmented interferon response which was largely absent in vaccine recipients.”

Cleveland Clinic, June 19, 2021

In a study of 1,359 previously infected health care workers in the Cleveland Clinic system, not a single one of them was reinfected 10 months into the pandemic, despite some of these individuals being around COVID-positive patients more than the regular population.

Israeli researchers, August 22, 2021

Aside from more robust T cell and memory B cell immunity, which is more important than antibody levels, Israeli researchers found that antibodies wane slower among those with prior infection. “In vaccinated subjects, antibody titers decreased by up to 40% each subsequent month while in convalescents they decreased by less than 5% per month.”

Irish researchers, published in Wiley Review, May 18, 2021

Researchers conducted a review of 11 cohort studies with over 600,000 total recovered COVID patients who were followed up with over 10 months. The key finding? Unlike the vaccine, after about four to six months, they found “no study reporting an increase in the risk of reinfection over time.”

I could link these all day, but I’m sure we both have other things to do. The point is that the Science! is more consensus-y every day: those who have already recovered from a COVID infection—even a mild or asymptomatic one—have naturally superior protection from future infection than those who are merely vaccinated, and are also safer to be around than people who have been vaccinated but never had an infection.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t get vaccinated if you already had COVID, especially if you are tolerant of the vaccine’s side effects. According to the experts, you would be even better protected than people who are either only naturally immune or only vaccinated. But if you have recovered from an infection, you’re manifestly as safe as if you were only vaccinated.

Clearly, it’s time for public safety policy to recognize natural immunity as equal to vaccination.

Of course, the government-pharma complex isn’t going to give up its advantage without a fight. Big Pharma has a lock on all that sweet vaccine cash, and our leaders simply love their hot new emergency powers. But cracks are finally appearing in the “crisis” power apparatus. The more Americans insist we Follow the Science™ and grant equal rights to the naturally immune, the faster this much-needed transformation can occur.

  1. Good News in Israel on Covid. It appears things are getting better steadily.

Israel’s Covid positivity rate dropped below one percent for the first time since July on Tuesday.

The country’s health ministry recorded 866 new cases of Covid, with the current positivity rate standing at 0.88 percent.

Of the current cases, 249 patients were classified as seriously ill, with 139 on ventilators.

Infection rates are gradually dropping following continued distribution of the country’s third vaccine booster shots.

Currently, Israel’s health authority says around 3,915,254 people have received a complete set of three Covid vaccine doses.

The news is a welcoming sign for Israel, as the country is gearing up to open its borders to fully vaccinated tourists starting November 1.

  2. The latest from Patrick Byrne:
    https://www.deepcapture.com/2021/10/letter-to-physicians-have-you-checked-your-1947-nuremberg-code-today/
This is well worth the read. Byrne makes an appeal and a not too subtle reminder to the medical community of the duty of their position and the peril of their involvement in coercive medical practices, linking it to the Nuremberg Code, Hannah Arendt and Eichmann, Crimes against Humanity vs the man who scheduled the trains, fascism, the Plandemic and psyops.

Additionally, the jabs create an impairment to the immune system per the English antibody data. We don’t know if this is specific to Covid or if it is more generalized, but I will have more to say on this later. On top of all this, the jabs are the source of the variants that will keep this virus forever one step ahead of the jabs…

Regarding the reduction of serious Covid illness among the vaccinated, we should look at this more closely. The poor are known to have poor health, it’s unfortunate, but true. They are also the greater portion of those who are vaccine hesitant. So the healthier public are among those who are vaccinated. The healthy have no concerns of the virus with or without the vaccine. On top of this, all those who become sick with Covid following the jab are counted with the unvaccinated and all those who die following the jab are counted with the unvaccinated. So reducing serious illness would seem to be a fait accompli – its built into the system, guarenteed not to fail.

And notice what we did not mention in all of this=> treatment, safe, afordable, available, established and effective treatment.

Regarding the second article shared by Bear, in which he cites

50-fold jump in antibodies after third shot

This is likely the source of the problem of both the vaccine failures and at lease some of the severe adverse effects. I say ‘likely’ because no one is investigating the harms or the failures of the vaccines. Unfortunately, rather than employing treatments and taking the time to investigate these concerns of the jabs and limit the carnage, the 3rd jab experiment was pursued, presumably because someone thought that if some is good, more is better and even more is even better, right? Not usually… ,but we will find out. Just for kicks, has anyone ever gone through desensitization?

Also, the deaths in Israel are still 300%(12/day monthly ave.) of where they were before the 3rd jab began(3-4/day monthly ave.), 3 months ago.

  4. (1 of 2)
The article that Bear shared earlier is a perfect example of science being manipulated to craft a dialogue in support of a political objective, but correct me where I miss my mark.

If the purpose of a vaccine is to prevent infection[er, that should say disease], then it needs to lead to the creation of a good memory cell response[now this is true] – B cells and T cells that are cells induced by the vaccine but that stay in our body[well they are suppose to, but…do they?],” Gal Tanamy said. “If a person becomes infected, these cells are activated and can create a fast and good response[yeah but this isn’t happening with the jabs]against the pathogen, which is why we do not get sick if we are vaccinated[only we do get sick even if we are vaccinated].”

Because, Kobiler said, the booster is not only stopping serious disease, it is also aimed at halting infection – a high bar for a vaccine[really?].
“Most vaccines are used to prevent serious infection and not any infection[vaccines prevent disease],” he said. “Here we are asking the vaccine to prevent any and all disease[nope, just disease], to prevent the infection from spreading[this would be good, but the jabs don’t do prevent spread, they enable it].
“Most people in the world don’t need the booster shot to prevent them from getting serious disease[then why are they taking them], but they do need it to prevent them from getting corona and spreading it to other people[No one knows if this is true, not the scientists, not the doctors and not the lab rats].”
Gal Tanamy stressed that even people with two shots are “still very much protected from severe disease ” because of their memory cells[Totally BS, ask the dead if this is true, and the thousands of cases].

So vaccines are used to prevent disease not prevent serious infection. Simple. A vaccine is given, an immune response is created, strong enough to generate memory, but weak enough not to produce the disease, and definitely too weak to create any serious illness and absolutely too weak to cause death. The Covid jabs do not prevent disease, they don’t prevent the spread of disease, they are not weak enough to prevent serious illness and they are not weak enough to prevent death. They create a massive immune response, waning protection that fails as the antibodies disappear – ie no memory, because as the initial protection wanes, following re-exposure, memory should kick-start the Tcells immediately and Bcells shortly after, but there is no memory. Furthermore, where has anyone seen a single Tcell responding from these vaccines. @Reader is quite correct that the cytotoxic killer Tcells are usually the cells that respound to a re-exposure of a virus, but the Bcells are not respounding either, simply because both immune memory lines(B/Tcells) failed to create memory. And this is ignoring the effect on the innate immune system by these jabs.

As far as the 3rd jab is concerned, none of us know what will come of this experiment, but people have already died from covid following the 3rd jab, but time will tell us more, lets hope that Vander Bosshe is wrong this time. Also, the vaccines allow the jabbed people to carry large numbers of virus while infecting others, with no sign or little sign of disease. So as the jabs are failing to protect from disease and from spread, they are potentiating the creation of superspreaders.

  5. I notice from reading the article posted by Bear that the Israeli jounalist who wrote this Jerusalem Post article says there is a great deal that is unknown about the Covid vaccines–whether there is any number of shots that will give the patient permanent immunity, and if so ho many shots; what time should elapse between the shots in order to create maximum immunity; whether the vaccine will be effective against possible future variants.

With all previous vaccines, the authorities at least thought they had the answers to these questions before they authorized their use for the general public. But the Covid vaccines were authorized by authorities for general use before they knew the answers to these questions. And they still don’t. That reflects the fact that approval for the massive “emergency use” of these vaccines, and even vaccine “mandates” for receiving them, was granted in a hurried process without the thorough testing before they were authorized for general use without the close monitoring of them for possible undesireable side effects once they were in general use. This is why critics have accused world governments of conducting what amounts to a vast medical experiment on the population of the entire world, without the informed consent of those participating in this “study” of the vaccines. Never having been subject tio the rigorous vetting procedures of previously authorized vaccines, the cv-2 vaccines remain “experimental,” and all those tens of millions of vaccinated indiduals are subjects of this vast “experiment.”

  6. To the best of my admittedly limited knowledge, a jump in antibodies does not necessarily mean an increase in immunity because the real immunity is ultimately taken care of by the T-cells one kind of which (the Killer T-cells) this vaccine actually destroys .

Thus the creators of this “vaccine” have actually learned how to give the vaccinated AIDS Type II (because the original AIDS kills the other type of T-cells).

It could be that the antibody reaction is against the vaccine itself which occurs every time it is injected into the body.

  7. Hi Michael, No I do not agree with you at all! I choose to be polite about it and find no reason to be snarky nor negative.

  8. Hi, Bear. You said,

“Others may disagree and choose to believe different sources.”

I agree, and accept your explanation. At the same time, you are actually agreeing with me, in saying that the current furor over “the jab” is a matter of faith, not science.

  9. If the chickenpox vaccine lasts 20 years, why not the COVID-19 shot?
Will the third booster shot be our last? Israeli doctors explain the science behind it.

    By MAAYAN JAFFE-HOFFMAN OCTOBER 19, 2021 00:25

The measles vaccine lasts forever. The chickenpox vaccine is good for as long as 20 years. The DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis) requires five doses before the age of seven, but then it offers protection for at least 10 years.

So why do we assume that we will have to get a shot of the coronavirus vaccine every six months or year?
There are reasons why individuals might need a COVID booster at least every year, but also some reasons why the third shot may, in fact, be our last.

The first reason we might need a fourth (or fifth or sixth) shot is because of the decay of our own antibodies and immune response, explained Dr. Oren Kobiler of Tel Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine.
Recent studies have shown that the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine wanes after four to six months, making individuals more prone to infection. A booster dose does exactly what its name implies: It boosts our antibodies, offering greater protection against the virus.

Another reason we might need repeated shots is due to variants, or what is known in scientific terms as “antigenic drift.” If the virus is always changing, then our vaccines will need to be updated to protect against the latest threat.

Some viruses, such as polio, measles and mumps, do not change a lot, hence the vaccines continue to be effective. In contrast, influenza changes every year, so people receive a new flu vaccine to protect against it.
“The vaccine is the protection,” said Prof. Meital Gal Tanamy, head of the Molecular Virology Lab at Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Medicine. “The period of protection is dependent on the vaccine and the virus.”

“A variant is a virus that contains mutations, and if it has evolutionary advantages, it can take over in the population,” she said, adding that this is what happened with the Delta variant. “The other question is how effective against these variants the vaccines we have will be.”

Coronavirus is an RNA virus, which means it changes. However, its mutation rate is three to four times less compared with the influenza virus, which is good news for vaccine makers, Gal Tanamy said.
Another thing to consider is how good the immune response really is that is induced by the vaccine.
“If the purpose of a vaccine is to prevent infection, then it needs to lead to the creation of a good memory cell response – B cells and T cells that are cells induced by the vaccine but that stay in our body,” Gal Tanamy said. “If a person becomes infected, these cells are activated and can create a fast and good response against the pathogen, which is why we do not get sick if we are vaccinated.”
The question then is whether or not we get a good memory response with the vaccines that we have.
Recent papers have shown that even as neutralizing antibodies wane, the vaccine still has a good memory response.
So, why take the booster then?
Because, Kobiler said, the booster is not only stopping serious disease, it is also aimed at halting infection – a high bar for a vaccine.

“Most vaccines are used to prevent serious infection and not any infection,” he said. “Here we are asking the vaccine to prevent any and all disease, to prevent the infection from spreading.
“Most people in the world don’t need the booster shot to prevent them from getting serious disease, but they do need it to prevent them from getting corona and spreading it to other people.”
Gal Tanamy stressed that even people with two shots are “still very much protected from severe disease” because of their memory cells.
But there are also reasons to believe that this third shot could be the last.
Many childhood vaccines are taken three times and no more, such as the polio vaccine and the HPV vaccine against the papilloma virus. The latter, for example, if taken after the age of 15, needs three doses, one month and six months after the first dose, and then it lasts a lifetime, as far as scientists currently know.
Another idea is that the administration regime could be altered to make the vaccines more effective.
Several recent papers suggest, for example, that the Pfizer vaccine creates a more robust immunity if the first and second shots are given eight or even 12 weeks apart instead of three, Kobiler said.
“Now, with the third dose being given at six months [after the second dose], I am not sure we will ever need another booster,” he said.
There are also scientists who believe that like previous coronaviruses, the pandemic will eventually become endemic and less severe, and the need to vaccinate will soon become unnecessary, Kobiler added.
“I am more inclined to that point of view because of what we know of other coronaviruses,” he said. “Usually, they are caught at a young age and cause very mild disease. And those that are exposed to them at a young age tend not to suffer from severe disease when they are older.”
Finally, each booster sparks a better immune response, both in terms of quantity and quality of antibodies than the one before, Gal Tanamy said. The immune response becomes “more specific” and the antibodies “more efficient,” she said.
So, will we or won’t we need to vaccinate against COVID for life?
“Only time will tell,” Kobiler said.

  10. For your eyes, Bear:

“Physician Assistant Deborah Conrad noted that, in a community in which less than 50 percent of individuals at the time had been vaccinated for Covid-19, approximately 90 percent of the individuals admitted to her hospital were documented to have been vaccinated, a report said.

“These patients were admitted for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to Covid-19 infections. Even more troubling is that there were many individuals who were young, many who presented with unusual or unexpected health events, and many who were admitted months after vaccination,” Aaron Siri noted in an Oct. 17 substack.com report.”

    https://www.worldtribune.com/90-percent-of-hospitals-admissions-are-vaccinated-officials-report-ignored-by-superiors-fda/

No sane and informed person would want to take these poison shots. My wife is a medical professional; people like Peloni are medical professionals; one person who warned of the dangers of the poison shots won the Nobel Prize in virology. Doctors and nurses, by the thousands, are losing their careers for refusing to take the jab. What gives you any confidence to naysay all this? Saint Anthony Fauci?

  11. I don’t know why some people keep insisting that the vaccine is perfectly good when it was shown OFFICIALLY to give immunity (if you completely discount all the well documented dangers of it) for only 6 months?

This kind of thing never happened with a real vaccine before.

BTW, ~80% of those who experience bad side effects are women, and of those the majority are the women of childbearing age.

Isn’t it a highly interesting coincidence?

  12. @Bear

The side effects for 99% plus are some soreness at the vaccination site, perhaps some tiredness for a day (normally) and maybe some sore muscles.

It is coronavirus that has been weaponized to kill. But it is a very poor weapon, for if you do not treat it at all, only 3 of 1000 will die. And those 3 represent the millions you referenced. Yet these millions are not dead because they caught Covid. They are dead because their Covid was treated as if it was not a treatable condition. Medicine is a wonderful field of study, but it is just a plethora of minutia if we only diagnose a disease to prevent any treatment of it while, we have had ready treatments all along.

Meanwhile, nearly 20k have died in close association to the jabs, just in the US. But no one seems to give a tinkers damn about their deaths. In one week there have been over 900 people diagnosed with myocarditis in the US alone, adding to the 10K since June, while no one is checking for it, just incidental findings when children start grasping their chests. And yes, most of those are children and half will be dead in 5-10yrs. There are now documented 1000 aborted pregnancies following the jab, again, just in the US. These lives have been catastrophically impacted and their families will never recover emotionally or financially. And yet, there is no recognition of their suffering and, therefore, no investigation to limit or end the harms being done because comments such as those you just made, with respect. I know it is not your meaning to ignore these peoples suffering, but this is what happens when comments such as yours and Dr. Barr’s reference that these fatalities and heart ailments and abortions are just noise, imparting a complete disregard for the severity of these matters that are much more significant than sore arms. These vaccines are not safe, having increase the harms of all other vaccines since the 90’s by 1000x in just 10months. They are documented to produce failing immunity which to some significant degree impairs a person’s ability to mount and establish a similar immunity to those not vaccinated at all. The millions of people who are at threat to the virus are known, they are the elderly and the ill. Children have no need for vaccines that impair their immunity and scar their hearts, in unknown numbers which are never examined, simply because we keep stating that their numbers are simply incidental, ie noise.

Why are there no answers to many pertinent questions, including: Why are there no autopsies to remedy these tragedies that are doled out in the vaccine’s butcher’s bill. Why are there no treatments pursued for the breakthrough failures of the vaccines. Why are none of the dozens of compounds that have been shown to produce a benefit employed for anyone with Covid. why are all children being vaccinated for a virus that has only killed 542 children worldwide in 2yrs. Why is Israel’s ‘treatment’ of this condition sitting in utter humiliation by the comparison to India’s, of all nations. Why is the US, the UK, Italy, Germany, and France all similarly shamed with the same policy of non-treatment beyond this multi-problematic vaccine while the dead keep building. With respect, can you enlighten me on any of these matters? I think these are fair questions, even as there are no fair answers to be had.

  13. How many millions of people have died from Covid or are some still saying it is just the flu and not a real problem or disease? How many have serious lingering medical problems after catching it?

Millions and Millions of people have been vaccinated and are far safer for it. The side effects for 99% plus are some soreness at the vaccination site, perhaps some tiredness for a day (normally) and maybe some sore muscles.

  14. In terms of eating at restaurants – most restaurants as far as I know are staffed by the illegals who are paid in cash and who come to the country without passing medical exams and carrying any number of pathogens and even parasites.

  15. ALERT ALERT ALERT!!!! Those of us in the such as myself who need frequent blood tests and receive the occasional injection. Also, anyone who is foolish enough like myself to eat take-out food or dine in restaurants, read this!

Tens of millions of filthy, used medical gloves imported into the US
(CNN) — Trash bags stuffed full of used medical gloves, some visibly soiled, some even blood-stained, litter the floor of a warehouse on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Nearby is a plastic bowl, filled with blue dye and a few gloves. Thai officials say migrant laborers had been trying to make the gloves look new again, when Thai health authorities raided the facility in December.

There are many more warehouses just like it still in operation today in Thailand — trying to cash in on the demand for medical-grade nitrile gloves, which exploded with the coronavirus pandemic. And they’re boxing up millions of these sub-standard gloves for export to the United States, and countries around the world amid a global shortage that will take years to ease.

A months-long CNN investigation has found that tens of millions of counterfeit and second-hand nitrile gloves have reached the United States, according to import records and distributors who bought the gloves — and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Criminal investigations are underway by the authorities in the US and Thailand.

Experts describe an industry riddled with fraud, with one of them — Douglas Stein — telling CNN that nitrile gloves are the “most dangerous commodity on Earth right now.”

“There’s an enormous amount of bad product coming in,” Stein says, “an endless stream of filthy, second-hand and substandard gloves coming into the US of which federal authorities, it seems, are only now beginning to understand the enormous scale.”

Yet, despite the potential risk to frontline healthcare workers and patients, US authorities have struggled to get a handle on the illicit trade — in part because import regulations for protective medical equipment were temporarily suspended at the height of the pandemic — and remain suspended today.

Piles of dirty, suspected second-hand nitrile gloves were found in a raid on a warehouse in Bangkok, December 2020. The Thai FDA said fraudulent companies package gloves like these for resale around the world.
Piles of dirty, suspected second-hand nitrile gloves were found in a raid on a warehouse in Bangkok, December 2020. The Thai FDA said fraudulent companies package gloves like these for resale around the world.

In February and March this year one US company warned two federal agencies — Customs and Border Protection and the Food and Drug Administration — that it had received shipments filled with substandard and visibly soiled gloves from one company in Thailand.

And yet the Thai company managed to ship tens of millions more gloves in the following months, some arriving as recently as July.

The FDA told CNN it could not comment on individual cases but said it has taken “a number of steps to find and stop those selling unapproved products by leveraging our experience investigating, examining and reviewing medical products, both at the border and within domestic commerce.”

    A surge in demand

In early 2020, demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) shot through the roof as the coronavirus pandemic took hold around the world. And prices for nitrile gloves stayed high. Medical grade nitrile gloves are commonly used by doctors and healthcare professionals in patient examinations. The FDA bans powdered latex from being used in healthcare, while lower-quality vinyl gloves are more common in industrial settings and food handling.
The gloves, produced almost entirely in south and east Asia, rely on a finite supply of natural rubber, highly-specialized factories and niche manufacturing expertise. Ramping up supply couldn’t happen quickly and production from trusted, established brands was spoken for years in advance.

Governments and hospital systems scrambled to get what they needed — and dozens of shady companies looking to turn a quick profit saw an opportunity.

Late last year Tarek Kirschen, a Miami-based businessman, ordered about $2 million of gloves from a Thai-based company called Paddy the Room, which he then sold to a US distributor.

“We start getting phone calls from clients completely upset, and you know, yelling and screaming at us saying, ‘Hey, you screwed us,'” he recalls.

Kirschen got to see the product for himself when a second container arrived in Miami.

“These were reused gloves. They were washed, recycled,” he told CNN. “Some of them were dirty. Some of them had bloodstains. Some of them had markers on them with dates from two years ago… I couldn’t believe my eyes.”

Nitrile gloves shipped to the US by Thai company Paddy the Room Trading Company. These examples, seen by CNN, show clear signs of previous use — hand-writing in pen and other soiling.
Nitrile gloves shipped to the US by Thai company Paddy the Room Trading Company. These examples, seen by CNN, show clear signs of previous use — hand-writing in pen and other soiling.

Kirschen says he refunded the money to his customers, put the gloves in a landfill and alerted the FDA in February 2021.

He says none of the gloves he ordered were used in medical settings, but a CNN analysis of import records show that other US distributors acquired nearly 200 million gloves from Paddy the Room during the pandemic.

It’s unclear what happened to those gloves after they entered the country.

CNN attempted to reach all of the importers. The vast majority did not respond but two did say the shipments were substandard and the gloves weren’t even nitrile. One company, Uweport, told CNN they were unable to re-sell them to medical companies, as planned. Instead, they were sold at a lower price to distributors that supply American food processing plants, hotels and restaurants.

The other company, US Liberty LLC had a very similar experience with Paddy the Room. It says it was also bilked by a different Vietnemese company which sent them “gloves with holes, with stains, ripped, and in different shades and colours,” company President Firas Jarrar told CNN.

Stein, who has been buying PPE from Asia for decades, has been tracking the countless frauds and scams across Southeast Asia since the pandemic began.

“It’s ridiculously nefarious at every link in the chain,” he told CNN.

Stein, who has built up a following of buyers and sellers on LinkedIn, often finds himself counseling people who lost millions of dollars to nitrile glove fraud and trying to talk people out of signing deals that are clearly too good to be true. He says the discounts on offer are often impossibly steep.

Louis Ziskin is one US entrepreneur who was tempted to buy. “We saw dollar signs. We also saw we had legitimate medical customers who were literally begging for this stuff,” he told CNN.

His company, AirQueen, went ahead with a $2.7 million order from Paddy the Room, via a third party also based in Asia. All paid 100% up front.

Ziskin is an ex-convict who spent more than a decade behind bars after he was caught smuggling the drug ecstasy into the US in 2000.

But in the last decade he’s become a successful tech entrepreneur, whose business has even been profiled in Forbes magazine.

But then he stepped into the murky world of nitrile gloves.

An independent inspection carried out at a Los Angeles warehouse and verified by CNN confirmed that most of the gloves he bought were not nitrile, but lower-grade latex or vinyl, and many were very obviously soiled and second-hand.

Ziskin says there was no way he could pass them off to hospitals in good conscience.

“It’s a total safety issue… to me the fact that these companies were never blacklisted is shocking,” he told CNN.

Louis Ziskin, CEO of American company AirQueen, spent $2.7 million on nitrile gloves from Paddy the Room. When the shipments arrived many of the gloves were bad quality, soiled or even second-hand. His latest shipment was seized by federal authorities who are conducting a criminal investigation into Paddy the Room.

When the shipments arrived many of the gloves were bad quality, soiled or even second-hand. His latest shipment was seized by federal authorities who are conducting a criminal investigation into Paddy the Room.

Perhaps that is because the scam is an elaborate one. Paddy the Room sent Ziskin pristine independent inspection reports purporting to show the gloves in the shipment were high quality. The documents though, were fake. The inspection company whose report had been falsified confirmed to CNN that the reports were forgeries.

Like Kirschen, Ziskin raised the alarm with US authorities shortly after he received his shipment of bad gloves early this year, contacting both the FDA and the CBP. Yet, import records showed the warnings seemed to make no difference. Since Ziskin’s written warning to the CBP in February, 28 containers totaling more than 80 million gloves shipped by Paddy the Room entered the US.

The flow of sub-standard gloves into the US was also made easier by the FDA’s temporary suspension of import regulations.

“There was just no other answer. There was no way to meet the demand,” explained Stein. “But that opened the floodgates for all the nefarious behavior.”

In a statement, the FDA told CNN that companies were only allowed to import under the relaxed rules “as long as the gloves conform to the consensus standards and labeling cited in the guidance and where the gloves do not create an undue risk.”

But few physical checks are made on gloves or any other items arriving into American ports, and any medical gloves that were fraudulent or even contaminated would likely not be discovered until they arrived at their destination.

In August, the FDA did finally send out an alert to all its port staff that shipments from Paddy the Room should be subject to detention without physical examination.

That was five months after Kirschen and Ziskin raised the alarm.

The FDA would not comment on its investigation into Paddy the Room, but Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials confirmed there is an ongoing criminal investigation into the company.

The CBP told CNN it had seized some 40 million counterfeit face masks and hundreds of thousands of other PPE items. It says it has seized some shipments of gloves, but it has not tracked the volume of seizures.

CNN asked the DHS if the system had failed given the number of second-hand gloves making it into the American supply chain.

“I don’t know that that’s the right way to phrase the question,” said DHS Investigations Special Operations Agent Mike Rose. “I think all of us would love to get to a point that not a single counterfeit dangerous good entered the US — and I think we’re working towards that.”

Last spring, at the outset of the pandemic, the DHS launched what it called Operation Stolen Promise to crack down specifically on counterfeit PPE, which Rose says has now made more than 2,000 seizures of Covid-related treatments and PPE.

“I think DHS has been a model around the world for how best to coordinate efforts among different agencies to really stop the import, the transactions and all the other surrounding criminal activity around Covid,” Rose said.

    Bangkok raids

The Thai FDA has struggled to keep up with the fraudulent trade in nitrile gloves.

When its agents first raided Paddy the Room last December, they found piles of garbage bags filled with loose gloves — of different colors, materials and quality. Workers at the warehouse were stuffing the old gloves into new, counterfeit Sri Trang boxes branded SriTrang — a well-known and legitimate gloves producer in Thailand. SriTrang told CNN it does not do business with Paddy the Room.

Ziskin ended up with thousands of boxes of those counterfeit SriTrang gloves — most bearing the company logo in Thai.

According to Doug Stein, the PPE expert, gloves shipped to the US would never be put in boxes labeled in a foreign language. That alone should have set off alarm bells, he said.

The Thai FDA arrested the owner of the warehouse but was unable to bring charges against the tenant — a Hong Kong resident, according to the Thai FDA.

But the raid didn’t close down Paddy the Room. The Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai FDA Supattra Boonserm told CNN that months later her agency raided a similar facility.

“They just moved to another location, to another warehouse,” she said. “And why is that? Because the demand for gloves is still high. There are still customers waiting out there,” she told CNN.

Paddy the Room and its partner company have not responded to CNN’s requests for comment.

The Thai FDA says it has carried out at least 10 raids in recent months and seized substandard and used gloves being repackaged into counterfeit nitrile boxes. Some raids find workers scrubbing used gloves by hand in wash bowls and dyeing them with food coloring.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai FDA Supattra Boonserm and members of the Royal Thai Police seized counterfeit nitrile gloves. The Thai FDA says SkyMed, the brand whose logo is on the boxes of gloves, is “for sure fake.”

“It may be too slow to dry them hanging up, so they would put them into a dryer, literally a laundry dryer,” Boonserm explained. She suspects many used gloves are collected from China or Indonesia and shipped to Thailand to be washed, dried and re-packed.

“In simple terms, it’s fraud,” Boonserm says.

“Under this outbreak situation, the demand is enormous both from hospitals and the general public. The volume of illegal gloves we have found is enormous.”

Doug Stein says given the scale of the illicit trade, he thinks it likely that some gloves have ended up in a medical setting. But it’s unclear if any of these fraudulent, re-used gloves have harmed any US health-care worker or patient.

Boonserm says her agency thinks there is a network of corrupt individuals and companies in Thailand working together to make a profit from the global clamor for nitrile gloves. One of those companies is SkyMed, a brand run by a former Thai military officer. Boxes bearing the SkyMed label were found in the raid of Paddy the Room in December.

“SkyMed, is for sure fake,” Boonserm says.

According to Boonserm, the company has an import license to bring in medical gloves made in Vietnam, but records show SkyMed has never imported medical gloves to Thailand, nor does the company manufacture its own gloves.

SkyMed did not respond to repeated requests for comment for this story.

The extent of fraud in the medical glove industry has driven many international buyers to drastic measures to recoup their money.

Louis Ziskin decided to go to Thailand in an effort to recover his company’s lost $2.7 million, but things quickly went wrong.

Ziskin and several others were arrested and charged with assault and kidnapping after a confrontation in a Bangkok restaurant.

Ziskin says he wasn’t there and strenuously denied the charges.

“I’m going to see this through to the very end,” he vowed. “Am I going to get my money back for the company? Most likely not. Are we bringing a light to this to where hopefully, the United States can get up off the bench and stop it? Yeah. If that’s what justice is, then that’s what my hope is.”

After Thai police missed their deadline to submit evidence in the case, Ziskin was allowed to leave Thailand and flew home to Los Angeles. Thai police tell CNN the investigation is not closed.

Others connected to the incident are still facing trial in Thailand. All have denied the charges against them.

On July 27, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) cleared out Ziskin’s LA warehouse, seizing 70,000 boxes as evidence in their investigation into Paddy the Room, about five months after he first blew the whistle.

The great unknown is how many million more sub-standard nitrile gloves may be stacked in warehouses at US ports.

Doug Stein believes the fraud may amount to billions of dollars.

“It just became this dark, dark underground,” he says, “where fear meets greed.”

  16. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get vaccinated if you already had COVID, especially if you are tolerant of the vaccine’s side effects.

It has been well shown in studies that I have previously linked that the vaccine’s most severe adverse effects are ~400% more likely to occur in people who were previously vaccinated. Also, given that the vaccines only poorly mimic the robust immunity of the Covid recovered, why would anyone risk death, disabling conditions, myocarditis, among other very concerning conditions. There is also the possibility that the vaccines will actually diminish the immunity of Covid recovered. We of course have no certain knowledge of such important and obvious questions as this because there has been no funding provided to collect such readily available data as this which might conflict with the shareholders vaccine targets. This all becomes all the more significantly relavent when we recall that the shareholders control both the funding for such research, as well as the best data collection tools.

  17. Without innate and naturally acquired immunities, life (from the multicellular primary state) as we know it would very likely not be possible.
