The cities didn’t erupt. A gaggle of Tuckerite Kremlin bots erupted. After all, burning down several Ukrainian cities and murdering tens of thousands of Ukrainians in an unprovoked war of aggression just wasn’t enough. Written more than a year ago:

Sebastien, THAT’s radical, I must admit! Concerning the 30 cities, it is SOOOO French! I remember when Charles de Gaulle pulled France out of military integration with NATO, even after we had flattered France by putting its headquarters there (It then moved to Brussels). (We had earlier flattered him, by letting him march into Paris as its “liberator” (I think the US, Canada and UK actually had played a bit role in that business).
In 1967, le Grand Charles continued his self-glorification while visiting Canada and declaring, to the extreme displeasure of his hosts, “Vive le Québec libre.”. He was immediately decalred persona non grata and booted out of the country.
My sister’s French teacher, when he was the advisor of our high school Chess Club, once intimated that he had had a conversation with a Frenchman who said, “France could become a great nation, if it WANTED to be!”
To their credit, the French are the only members of the EU who have bothered to maintain a world-class military, and have given the US some assistance in policing the world. They have a top-notch armaments industry, competing with the best.
Back when I was an Anarcho-Communist, in 1978-9, I remember there was a popular button that read, “U.S. out of North America.” 😀
