Why Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week Is Needed

Members of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) are up in arms over an announced event which they depict as a “hateful” assault against the dignity of Muslims everywhere. “I haven’t decided what I think might be the recommended approach to this,” comments one MSA member. “Do we counter it with parallel events? Do we ignore it all together? Do we use it as motivation to put more work into our usual MSA activities?” Says another, “It would be nice to see some sort of unified response across all [MSA] campuses.” A third declares, “In all cases our action/reaction would be more effective if we get other like-minded student organizations, campus leaders, and professors to join in too. . . . Rather than critici[z]e this specific program, I think we need to discredit the whole [sponsoring] organization and its founders for being so hateful and intolerant.”

The target of this ire is Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, and the sponsor is the David Horowitz Freedom Center. It will be held on more than 100 college campuses across the United States during the week of October 22-26, and will be the largest conservative student protest in American history.

The goals of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week are:

    · TO EXPLAIN WHO THE ENEMY IS — not “terror,” but a fanatical religious movement associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and the sponsors of the Muslim Student Association; it is a movement including al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades — whose common goal is the creation of a global Muslim empire ruled by an Islamic “pope” or caliphate, to be based in Iraq, once America is defeated.

    · TO COUNTER THE LEFT’S BIG LIE — that “George Bush created the war on terror,” and to do this by means of campus demonstrations, guest speakers, and documentary films. The speakers will include former Senator Rick Santorum, Robert Spencer, Christopher Hitchens, Nonie Darwish, Wafa Sultan, David Horowitz, Daniel Pipes, Steve Emerson, Frank Gaffney, Cliff May, Phyllis Chessler and Ibn Warraq. The films will include Obsession; Suicide Killers; Border; Islam vs. Islam; and Islam: What the West Needs to Know.

    · TO PROTEST THE VIOLENT OPPRESSION OF WOMEN IN ISLAM — the “honor killings,” arranged marriages, child brides, and second-class citizenship of Muslim women.

    · TO STRENGTHEN THOSE ON CAMPUS WHO REJECT THE ANTI-AMERICAN CURRICULUM OF THE TENURED LEFT which teaches that America is a racist, sexist, homophobic, imperialist “Great Satan” whose little Eichmanns deserve what they get at the hands of Medieval religious fanatics armed with the latest technologies of death.

    · TO TEACH AN ALTERNATIVE CURRICULUM THAT WILL ARM AMERICA AGAINST THE RADICAL JIHAD – This curriculum will teach that Islam, as currently practiced in Muslim states, oppresses women, gays, Christians, Jews and atheists. It will teach that “Islamo-fascists hate us not because we are oppressors but because we are Christians, Jews, atheists, gays, and liberated women, and because we are tolerant, generous and free.”

In a related measure calling upon “all campus political, cultural, ethnic and religious groups to [oppose] all forms of religious supremacism, violence and intimidation,” the David Horowitz Freedom Center has drafted an Islamo-Fascism Petition affirming four major principles:

    · “the right of all people to live in freedom and dignity”

    · “the freedom of the individual conscience to change religions or have no religion at all”

    · “the equality of dignity of women and men”

    · “the right of all people to live free from violence, intimidation, and coercion”

The petition states descriptively and unequivocally: “Islamic Jihadists around the world have declared war on America, Israel and the West” and seek nothing less than “world domination” and “the suppression of all Infidels” — among which they enumerate homosexuals, Christians, Jews, and all non-religious people.

The Freedom Center is calling on the Muslim Student Association to sign the petition and to reject the hateful agendas of its sponsors, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Casting itself as a defender of religious tolerance and moderation, the Muslim Student Association proclaims:

    Sincerity is the foundation of our existence.
    Knowledge precedes our actions.
    Humility guides our conduct.
    Truthfulness is the mark of our speech.
    Moderation is the compass of our journey.
    Tolerance is the banner of our outreach.
    Forgiveness precedes our reconciliatory efforts.
    Patience is the hallmark of our planning.
    Gratitude binds our hearts together.

    That’s really quite funny.

    Will Hitchens – the liberal-left apologist for the Bosnian Islamofascist – Alija Izetbegovic – be wearing ear plugs and a blind-fold when the “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West” documentary starts being screened?

    Or will Hitchens simply excuse himself that he has to leave before its screening as Hitchens could well exclaim: “I have to be going now, sorry but something extremely urgent has come up, so you’ll have to excuse me, bye!”

    Or will he just grin like a cheshire cat, bear it, and hope nobody notices what’s in the film, or will he do as his liberal colleague,Oliver Kamm, and his sidekick, Marko Attila Hoare does and ludicrously claim that the late Izetbegovic was a “moderate muslim” despite Izetbegovic’s resurrection in 1991 of the WW2 Nazi SS “Handzar” division as his own personal praetorian bodyguards, his close relationship with bin Laden (bin Laden was a frequent guest of Izetbegovic in Sarajevo and Izetbegovic’s embassy in Vienna issued bin Laden a Bosnian passport in early 1993!), Izetbegovic’s frequent meetings with the Islamofascists mullahs of Iran in 1991 and Izetbegovic’s own writings in his 1970 Islamofascist manifesto: “Islamic Declaration” which he had re-published during his 1990 election campaign in Bosnia, an election which he actually lost to the secular entrepreneur, Fikret Abdic, usurping the position of “president of the rotating presidency” which Izetbegovic illegally refused to relinquish in 1992 in violation of Bosnia’s constitution and his failed attempt in 1992 to introduce Sharia law in all of Bosnia?

    This Islamofascist terrorist, Alija Izetbegovic: darling of Western governments and the liberal “mainstream media” during the 90’s, is Hitchens’ supposedly “moderate secular muslim committed to a Western style liberal democracy” that he still defends and covers for to this day?

    Is Hitchens’ brain suffering from dementia due to his chronic alcoholism, therefore merely “unaware” of all the above facts revealed over the last 16 years pertaining to Izetbegovic’s self-confessed Islamofascism?

    So how could Hitchens or anyone else defending him claim that Hitchens is merely “against genocide”?

    If Hitchens is so much “against genocide”, why doesn’t he say a single damn word against the massively documented genocide perpetrated by Izetbegovic in Bosnia, by Tudjman in Krajina and Croatia and still being perpetrated by the UN-funded KLA (aka “Kosovo Protection Corps”) in Kosovo against Serbs,Jews and Gypsies for the last eight years, since 1999?

    Why does Hitchens cover all this up and instead chooses to act as an apologist for these Islamofascist/Nazi mass- murderers?

    Perhaps Hitchens is simply a spokesman for the Western governmental elite, or just a plain old liar and hypocrite? Or all of the above?

    Given all the above, which shows VERY clearly that “The left” bare very little responsibility for the massive spread of Islamofascism in the world, why then does David Horowitz want us to focus on some idiot who blurts clichés and makes various noises about the California Highway patrol?
    Could it be that David Horowitz wants to keep his Islam-aware readers focussed on distractions?
    Could it be that David Horowitz wants to cover up the pro-Islamist agendas of the Establishment?
    Could it be that David Horowitz wants to ensure that the Islam-aware are kept virtually ineffective – reduced to complaining about Islamisation while prevented from actually doing anything about it, all the while having their egos appeased to the tune of “at least we’re not dhimmis like the leftards are!” or similar?
    Could it be that David Horowitz is a decoy merchant?

    There are plenty of decoy merchants implanted within the propagation mechanisms of virtually all political/social movements, there to steer different target audiences in particular directions. It is not too difficult (though unfortunately beyond the scope of this post to detail) to demonstrate that the “Islam aware” and generally “pro-War on terror” movements, the “antiwar” movement and the “9/11 truth” movement are all being led in certain directions and brought into conflict with each other in particular ways.
    This is achieved in part by having operatives in various roles embedded within these movements to set the boundaries of debate within those movements. This combined with media management of the exposure of and debate between these movements, allows for the creation of much political theatre with very little positive actually achieved by anyone. The various operatives are invariably linked to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)/Elite Foundation/Soros/intelligence agency networks.

    The practical upshot of all this is that various movements – which in a sane world should be able to discuss and debate all the facts and issues and actually resolve something – are played off against each other, can “legitimately” highlight flaws with each other and can “legitimately” claim credit for exposing certain important truths. In other words, they are all kept impotent, all kept in a self-righteous stance, all kept regurgitating a mixture of truths and falsehoods, and all kept bickering with or ignoring each other in a series of political theatrics which cloak the Realpolitrick behind the scenes.

    It’s a nasty paradigm, and one which we should seek to avoid being trapped by.

  6. Felix, you asked me what you characterized as a simple question which you figured would demand a difficult answer trying to explain away an ambiguity:

    How can Horowitz be for Islamofascism in Bosnia, by providing platform for Hitchens, though I would sure like to examine Horowitz re Izetbegovic as well, and be against it in US campus???

    There is no ambiguity in Horowitz choosing Christopher Hitchens amongst the noted speakers at Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

    Your question cannot be answered as you would have me or anyone else answer it, unless I accept the following two false assumptions upon which your question is based.

    Your first false assumptions is that Christopher Hitchens was supportive of Islamofacism in Bosnia and second that because he was included in Horowtiz’s roster of very well known anti radical Islamic speakers, Horowitz is therefore also pro Islamic fascism in Bosnia.

    As to the first, contrary to your own view, Hitchens believes the Serbs were committing ethnic cleansing against Muslims in Bosnia and therefore was supportive of action taken against the Serbs. That does not however make Hitchens pro Islamofacism, but rather makes him anti-genocide as I would like to believe all right thinking people are.

    Hitchens in his own way and style has written a fair bit warning of the dangers of radical Islam and the West’s inadequate response to it, just as the other noted speakers have.

    Secondly you make the false assumption that Horowitz, by having selected Hitchens as a speaker during Islamo Fascism Week adopts all that Hitchens believes and believes in. Surely Felix you must see that there is no evidence to support your jump to the conclusion you have.

    Further Felix, you must recognize that Horowitz has by choosing Hitchens made only a statement that Hitchens writings and speeches on the dangers of Islamic radicalism are in keeping with the views of the other noted speakers who will be in attendance at Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

    I trust Felix, I have adequately answered your question and satisfied you that your question derives from a false premise and there is no ambiguity in Horowitz’s having included Christopher Hitchens as one of the speakers during Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

    The question is though what is the role of Horowitz in having Hitchens on his slate.

    We know that Israel is coming up for the crunch times, if I can put it like that, with this Bushie conference scheduled for autumn.

    With a class of politicians inside Israel who are set to betray, ie Olmert and co.

    Now this Horowitz fellow gets this big thing going, and if I ma not wrong he is providing a cover for the bushies and the Clinton mob as well.

    So I ask you a simple question Bill.

  9. No one should let pass the MSA’s disingenuously playing the Muslim victimhood card in calling this Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week planned for 100 American college campuses, a

    “hateful” assault against the dignity of Muslims everywhere.

    To allow the MSA to get away with such accusation is the height of political correctness and hypocrisy.

    As the article points out the MSA has been affiliated with elements of radical Islam and they have no compunctions about promoting anti-American/Israel and anti-Semitic hatreds.

    Further this article points out that the MSA’s stated creed of brotherly love and tolerance for non-Muslims is, based on the facts, pure bullshit.

    The MSA should be painted with their own excrement by the non-Muslims for what the MSA really is.

    Horowitz had Hitchens in his line up, that is the same who said:

    “Safely be ignored and needn’t be teased too much now. The rescue of the Iraqi Kurds in 1991 taught them nothing; they were for leaving Bosnia and Kosovo to the mercy of Milosevic; they had nothing to say about the lack of an international intervention in Rwanda. The American polity is now divided between those who can recognize a new situation when they see it, and those who cannot or will not.”

    So leaving Bosnia to the mercy of Milosevic.

    Here Hitchens is lining up with the Bosnian Islamofascists. But hiding his support there for Islamofascism behind the bogeyman Milosevic which Clinton and then Bush built up through endless lies, as the bogeyman.

    So Hitchens says nothing at all about the real Islamofascist Izetbegovic.

    The question is how can Hitchens appear now on this platform in America and claim to be fighting against Islamofascism when he clearly supported it in Bosnia.

    Or is he like Attila Hoare and is making the case that Izetbegovic was a moderate!!!

  12. Yeah, but Sept 12th’s also the day before Roshashana, a holiday–not just that day, but those 2 weeks really–that even more and more Christians are busy celebrating. The David Horowitz Freedom Center consistently does great work, and lots of it. The lineup of speakers and events for the week looks very impressive. Good target for the message, too.
