Peloni: This story just keeps getting more and more disturbing, though with less and less surprise.

There are a growing number of voices pointing very specifically at the U.S. Secret Service and saying the level of incompetency in Butler County, Pennsylvania, was not accidental.
Indeed, as the fact pattern emerges, despite -and perhaps because of- the lack of public press briefings by DHS and the Secret Service leadership, a strong argument is now gaining momentum that USSS intentionally set President Trump up to be assassinated. In this horrifically possible scenario, ‘willful blindness’ is the best alternative.
Putting further fuel on the possibility of an intended collapse of security, the local Butler County SWAT team is now telling the public that Secret Service officials never met with them, nor provided secure communications channels between the SWAT members and the Secret Service. The SWAT team had no way to tell the USSS of the threat they saw moving toward President Trump. This detailed revelation is very troubling.
I am not at all surprised that First Lady Melania Trump now wants to keep Barron Trump as far away from American politics as possible.
The absence of specific government press conferences remains ‘the dog that didn’t bark’.
Greg Kelly notices that there is a problem here, but falls far short of nailing the culprits:

Adam, more appropriate names for the pseudo-culprit would be “Patsy”, or “Red Herring”, or, “Hey look, a squirrel!” but they wouldn’t have had the desired propaganda effect.
So far, no person or photo shows any recoil, flash or smoke coming from Crooks’s “firing” position.
One of the clips from Fox News reminded me that the attempted assassin’s name was Thomas Matthew Crooks. Somehow his last name seems relevant to his crime.
Truly appalling and terrifying. The “fix” is definitely in. In fact, local law enforcemen thad informed the Secret service that this guy whats-his name, the assassin,
was on the scene at the fairgrounds hours before the assassination, and that he had a very sketchy past, and should be considered a high security risk. They even passed on the message from the assassin’s parents parents that they were “worried about him.” They seem to have noticed he had taken one of his father’s guns and some ammunition for it, and they feared the worst. Local law enforcement passed on this “tip” to the Secret service, who ignored it.
And by the way–how did the assassin come to have a nest egg of 3.5 million dollars in forein bank accounts? Wise investments in the stock market by a twenty year old? or commodities exchanges by a 20-year-old with no experience working on Wall Street?
There were two secret service snipers ready to kill any sniper and they did after he shot at Trump. Why did they not shoot the sniper when they saw him on the roof? Why wait?
