After viewing Netanyahu’s speech, we are all left with a bitter taste in our mouths. If the intellectual supporters of this drama are allowed to continue as if they were right to be disobedient and to be paid for their disobedience from abroad, they should be made to feel that their elevated status has now become a disadvantage. How can we ever trust them again to protect the country as pilots or high officers in the IDF? If they are willing to sell their souls in this obvious manner, the trust we have so far invested in them was misplaced.
Taking this a step further, allowing the head of the Histadrut to shut down the state of Israel means that the power of policy is not with the government but rather with the left. Anyone who still aligns himself with the Histadrut should reconsider. I know this affects a large percentage of the population, but it can’t be allowed to continue.
