First we read that Iraq supports transfer by paying money to Arab’s in Kirkup to relocate.
Now we learn France to Pay Immigrants to Return Home
In light of these precedents, not to mention the long standing precedents of resettling refugees to solve international conflicts or for that matter the forced transfer of 8,000 Israelis from Gaza, Israel can now discuss voluntary transfer of Arabs without the idea being considered immoral. Well, at least, with it being less immoral.
In The ‘peace process’ is in need of a paradigm shift voluntary transfer is discussed.
Apparently most Jerusalem resident arabs have Jordanian passports because they don’t want Jerusalem to remain part of Israel. Surely this is enough to deport them to the country of which they are citizens.
As for other Arabs who are not citizens of Jordan, nothing is fairer than paying them to leave. If in addition Jordan agrees to annex some of the west bank, a substantial part of the arab problem will be solved.
But as we all know, Israel is held to different standards. Even discussion of such a plan will automatically cause the international community to deride Israel for ethnic cleansing and racism. Pointing out the world community’s hypocrisy in light of the above-mentioned examples will fall on deaf ears. That doesn’t mean such a move by Israel shouldn’t be carried out, but no one should expect the world to be silent as they are regarding France and Iraq’s relocation efforts.
