For those of us who may have mystical tendencies, it is interesting that the late Rabbi Menechem Mendel Shneersohn, whom member of the Lubovistcher hasidic sect more or less worship as a demigod (they call him “The Rebbe,” predicted thirty years ago that the Jewish year 5781 (2020-21 in the secular calender), would be a year of divine anger at the Jewish people and all the peoples of the world. Unspecified terrible suffering would occur. He compared the coming year to the seven years of famine that afflicted the Land of Israel and Egypt during the time when the Israelite
patriarrch Joseph with viceroy of Egypt.
During this period, according to the Book of Genesis, Joseph imposed a 20% tax on the Egyptians to pay for grain that he had stored for food during the famine. Eventually he nationalized all land owned by private owners, making it the property of pharoah, in order to make them pay for the last installement of food and seeds to regrow crops once the seven-year drought finally ended.
Some of the parallels to the present situation are obvious. Both food shortages and higher taxes are widely predicted for both the United States and Israel by leading economists. Also, a wave of housing and commercial property defaults that could easily result in a lot of land becoming government property.
If accurate, this means that senior military officers are plotting a coup to overthrow Trump.
