I have often written that there is very little daylight between American Jews and Obama. This survey shows they support him on Obamacare, the economy and even how he is handling US/Israel relations.
As for the latter, the key stand taken by Obama is to be against the settlements. Dershowitz is also against the settlements. I blame Bibi for not making the case for the settlements. All his actions show he agrees with them. He gives lip service to our right to build in Jerusalem and to a lesser extent in J&S, but his actions put the lie to his words. He imposed a settlement freeze formally in J&S for 10 months and defacto in Jerusalem and J&S after the freeze ended. He is uprooting settlements. Has anyone heard about those 1600 units in Ramat Shlomo lately?
He isn’t vigorously challenging the ruling of the Israel High Court in which it declared certain lands as “private Palestinian land”. This ruling is a horror story and shouldn’t be allowed to stand.

BOSTON – US Jewish voters prefer US President Barack Obama to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney by 61 percent to 28%, according to a new American Jewish Committee survey released Monday.
Those surveyed also approved more than disapproved of the way Obama has handled what they saw as the major issues in deciding how they would vote, when asked to list their top three: the economy (80%), health care (57%), national security (26%), taxes (26%), the US-Israel relationship (22%) and social security (22%).
On the US-Israel relationship, 58% approve of how Obama is handling it, versus 40% who disapprove. On national security, 69% approve of the job he is doing and only 29% disapprove. And on Iran’s nuclear program, which was listed as a separate issue with 15% choosing it as one of their top three concerns, 61% approve of what Obama has done and 37% disapprove.
Among Jewish voters who list the economy as their top issue, 62% say they will vote for Obama and just 28% back Romney. But among Jewish voters who list national security or the US-Israel relationship as their top issue, Romney would edge out Obama 44%- 42% and 45%-42% respectively.
The Democratic Party is also seen as more likely than the Republican Party to make the right decisions on every issue listed. On most issues, including national security and Iran, American Jews viewed Democrats as likely to make the right decisions by at least 60%. But on US-Israel relations, that number sank to 57%, while Republicans rose to 40% (on all other given issues they were in the 30s or lower). Conversely, the church-state relationship was the one area Democrats cracked 70%, with 74% saying Democrats were more likely to make the right decisions and just 22% saying the same of the GOP.
The survey found that American Jewry is very worried about Iran’s nuclear program, with 89% concerned about the prospect of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon and just 11% not that concerned.
Fifty-six percent think it is unlikely sanctions and diplomacy will prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, while 42% think it is likely. In the event that they do both fail, 64% would support the US taking military action against the nuclear program and 75% would support Israel taking military action.
A majority of 59% of those surveyed had never been to Israel, but 71% still agreed that “caring about Israel is a very important part of my being a Jew.”
The poll was conducted of 1,074 Jewish adults from March 14-27. It has a margin of error of +/- 4.8%.

Hitler got it right. He figured that the Jews would try and squiggle out of their religion by trying to pass as Christians. In the end, what happened to the Jews in Germany.? The same fate is waiting for them in the USA as well. How any Jew can support the Democratic Party, the party of the KKK and true segregation is beyond me, but then again what do I know. American Jews are a hopeless case. Yes it does appear that Jews have a fanatical, religious-like attachment to the democrats. Israel should just wash their hands of American Jews outside of the Orthodox community and reach out to the Evangelical Christians.

Since you couch the matter in “tribal” terms, I think I can understand it a little better — putting this all in the context of what Ted Belman said elsewhere about the Jews considering themselves a “family”.
I am a goy, of course; but in digging up connections with the Jewish part of my family, one thing I learned is that whether a Jew’s children become left-wing radicals, or haredim, or modern orthodox, reform, atheist, neo-pagan, etc., doesn’t have much to do with blood lines. I wouldn’t be surprized, if some of the more orthodox posters here have anti-zionist democrat children, even though others here post with an attitude that radical Jews are the spawn of aliens. It really is a family feud — that explains a lot. What’s amazing, is that this family feud, which is extremely intense among Jews because of the innate feuding nature of Judaism, should be affecting the entire planet.
I can see the hand of God in this. It seems the Jews have become a lens of sort, through which all the rest of us can see ourselves: every “ism”, every doctrinal slant, every prejudice we goiim have is magnified among the Jews.
I see hope for American Jews; but it’s not the sort of hope that many here share. I see them going, one-by-one as individuals, in either of three directions:
1. They will go to Israel
2. They will become prime-movers in the “N e w W o r l d O r d e r”, only to be singled out and persecuted and killed by their peers, or
3. They will become M e s s i a n i c Christians.
There are other ways they could go, but in all those ways, they would completely lose any sense of Jewishness. I could discuss the matter more, but I don’t think that’s possible here.
The majority of Western Jews are Jews in name only. Few can read or write their name in Hebrew. Fewer know more than 5 words in Hebrew. Maybe 2% of Western Jews can conjugate Hebrew verbs ( I am still learning ).
I washed my hands of US Jews over a decade ago. Their search for the “bashert” on J date is done by zip codes; manhattan, los angeles, boston,,It is very Hitlerian.
I have more faith in Christians than Jews re: the USA and Israel.

The real religion of 60-70% of American Jews is not Judaism but liberalism. How else could anyone explain Jews supporting someone who 1)was raised as a Muslim, 2) who was a member of a church for 20 years run by a phony Afro-Nazi “Minister,3) who treated the Prime Minister of Israel in a manner that someone would treat the head of state of a country at war with the US,4) who is clearly anti-white racist as recently evidenced by his totally unpresidential behavior in the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case, 5)who major goal in the US is redistribution of wealth 6)who has the same understanding of basic economics as the average 5th grader 6) who clearly sides with Iran in their quest for nuclear weapons. Obama is an America-hating black antisemitic racist just as his mentor the racist, antisemitic minister of his church is but who for obvious reasons is not nearly as outspoken. Only a fanatical religious-like attachment to the democrat party could explain why 61% of American Jews support such as evil, incompetent person who truly hates them.
It just strikes me as odd, that
1. over 80% of US Jews name the economy as their main concern,
2. Obama has been running the economy for over 3 years, two years of that with a majority in both houses of congress, and
3. They’re voting for Obama.
If they’re voting for him, that must mean they’re satisfied with the way he’s running the economy. On the other hand, if Obama has made the economy so rosy, why are they so concerned about it? Pardon me, for thinking US Jews have no brains.
