Urgent:  Palestinian dignity is a bizarre goal for Trump

T. Belman. Dignity requires respect for the Palestinian narrative which as we know is a lie. Besides, why are they entitled to dignity given all their lies and breaches of all other deals made. Considering how they incite and advocate the killing of Jews, why are they entitled to dignity. The opposite, they should be controlled.

The fact that trump is even mentioning “self determination” and “dignity” for the Palestinians is a bad starting point for America to intervene in negotiations.

He should have promised Israel that all former treaties or agreements will be honoured inclujding the Palestine Mandate and res 242.

By Dr. Aaron Lerner , IMRA

“Trump plans, in talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to “reaffirm America’s unshakeable bond to the Jewish state” and in a meeting with Abbas to “express his desire for dignity and self-determination for the
Palestinians.” U.S. national security adviser H.R. McMaster – 13 May, 2017

About “self determination”  – its time for Prime Minister Netanyahu to make it absolutely clear that the only relevant form of “self determination” for the Palestinians is a form of autonomy.  A NECESSARY condition for any truly viable arrangement is that it does NOT provide for Palestinian sovereignty.

Ask any legal expert and they will tell you that if a sovereign Palestinian state formed via a “fantastic deal” completely and utterly breaks the terms of the deal it REMAINS a sovereign state.

And “dignity”?

Don’t be fooled into thinking that “dignity” is some noble criteria.  A purely positive and innocent requirement.

Because basically any security measure can be interpreted as being undignified.

What kind of dignity is there if shipments entering Palestinian territories are subject to inspection?

What kind of dignity is there if the sovereign state of Palestine is subject to measures to insure that weapons restrictions are honored?

What kind of dignity is there if Palestinians are arrested just because they murdered some Israelis?

And it doesn’t stop there.

Any expression of the connection of Jews to holy places offends Palestinian “dignity”.

Taken to its ultimate conclusion, Palestinian dignity is offended by the very existence of the Jewish State!

No.

“Dignity” is anything but a purely positive and innocent requirement.

I might add that it is an incredibly hypocritical position when one considers that the United States has absolutely no problem violating the dignity of hundreds of thousands of airline passengers each day in the name
of security.

  2. :
It’s not the Israeli government’s job to recognize Arab dignity.

The Government is NOT a person. It cannot recognize dignity, the color purple, or anything else, for that matter.

Which boils down to asking why anyone should expect Jews to respect Arabs who:

    Can’t respect Jews.
    Can’t even respect themselves.

  3. Trump has two main interests in the middle east:

    1. Getting the Arabs to help get rid of ISIS with USA assistance.

    2. Like all recent White House occupants he has the naive foolish belief that he is clever enough to solve the Israeli Arab Conflict. This shows he knows little of the middle east, Islam or Arabs.

So now Trump is listening to people tell what is needed to create middle east peace. So we hear things like “Dignity” and “Sustainable Peace”. Abbas is man of peace.

So we are for another round of pure time wasting and not getting on to a new Israeli paradigm that will have a chance to create stability and peace in the very very very long term for Israel.

  4. I don’t think Trump even knows what he says. He seems to pick words out of the air and much of what he says we already know is fantasy and self-contradictory. He needs to take a page from Obama’s leadership handbook and have people hold up prompters for him. Speaking off the cuff will just get him in trouble. Besides that, he’s shown from the start of his campaign that he knows nothing of what goes on in the Middle East. I thought when he hired Friedman he would learn quickly, because Friedman wrote some good campaign info on Trump’s campaign website. Trump needs to study those. If Trump doesn’t know, he needs to know that what he says is going to be picked up by the media and used against him, so he needs to be very careful what he says.
