Undercutting our soldiers either American or Israeli

By Ted Belman

Palin 6Speaking on the US’ counter-terrorism policies, Sarah Palin claimed that President Obama‘s ways of life “coddled adversaries.” and she didn’t stop there:

“Come on. Enemies, who would utterly annihilate America, they who’d obviously have information on plots, to carry out Jihad. Oh, but you can’t offend them, can’t make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we’d baptize terrorists”.

As night follows day, she was attacked by the main stream media, the leftists and the liberals. She responded with a Facebook entry:

Actions to stop terrorists who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network.

If you want to talk about what really harms our troops, let’s talk about politicians who gut our military’s budgets, or a president whose skewed budgetary priorities slash military benefits, or an administration that puts our vets on endless waiting lists for care that comes too late to help those who’ve paid the price for our freedom, or those who break bread with those who think it makes no difference how our military heroes died in Benghazi or anywhere else trying to protect America. Those actions are a heck of a lot more harmful than declaring an appropriate message our enemies should receive. If some overly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended.

Perhaps hypocritical folks who only want Freedom of Speech to apply to those who agree with their liberal agenda might want to consider that the evil terrorists who were the brunt of my one-liner would be the first to strip away ALL our rights if given the chance. That’s why we do whatever we can to prevent them from killing innocent people. And for that, we should NEVER apologize. Good Lord, critics… buck up or stay in the truck. And if you love freedom, thank our troops! Thank our vets! And thank those who have the brains to support them and the guts to defend what they have earned!

I am sure it was an oversight that she didn’t mention the namby pamby rules of engagement that put American soldiers at a disadvantage and often gets them killed.

Which brings me to the IDF who similarly tie the hands of our soldiers in limiting what they can do with in-your-face protesters or with the enemy during a war.

Recently a Nahal fighter David Admov was caught on camera cocking his weapon at a Palestinian teenager, after which he was removed from his post. His fellow soldiers, believing this was why he was removed, launched a massive protest in support of him which garnered 70,000 likes. They were mistaken as to the cause of removal which was for violent behavior that occurred before the incident.

What is important to note is that IDF soldiers empathize with Admov. They obviously don’t like the rules of engagement,

As YNET put it:

IDF soldiers are stationed at weak points on the seam line between the Jewish Quarter and Palestinian Hebron, and are doing their job as they are caught between the devil of the orders they received from their commanders and the deep blue sea of provocations carried out by those whose entire goal is to get an incriminating photo of an IDF fighter and distribute it worldwide.

It goes on to place the blame on the IDF command.

Whoever puts the soldiers in these situations is treating them unfairly. The IDF itself must make sure that the manner in which soldiers are stationed in Hebron will not expose them to a confrontation with the provocateurs. In other words, they should operate from a stand which will prevent them from being caught up in distress which requires them to cock a weapon in front of a Palestinian.

The larger point that both Palin and this incident make is that our soldiers are treated as expendable.

Israel Matzav has the video of the incident and includes an explanation. It also has the video of the viral support he received.

  1. So, who comes first? Our men and women in uniform, their lives and the lives of civilians, or world opinion?
    The answer should be clear

The answer indeed should be clear, but when you have A TRAITOR seating in the PM office, uttering such GARBAGE, as golda did at the time
(“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. “) this has set a very dangerous precedent, that only got worse with the passage of time.
    Yesterday it was Shalom Eisner.
Today it is the nahlawee David…
The little Arab f***er was within a range where he could have struck with a knife. The tall Arab f***er that CAME FROM THE BACK may have had what it looks like brass knuckles….
It seems that as ’67 becomes but a dim memory, the ghetto/shtetl mentality is coming to back to life…. :-(.

  2. Israel is worried more about PR failures and what the goyim will say than the protection and pride of it’s own soldiers.

Our Torah and Torah Sages understood how we should behave towards our enemies and why:

“Oh L-rd, what shall I say, after Israel hath turned their backs before their enemies… and what wilt Thou do for Thy great Name?” (Joshua 7)

“Israel’s degradation is the desecration of the Name of the L-rd.” (The Biblical commentator Rashi, Ezekiel 39:7)

  3. @ honeybee:
Indeed he was. It is standard routine by the Islamic vermin who is fully aware that the renegade disgraces “commanding” our kids in uniform do not allow them to act as soldiers. The present “military leadership” only attacks… Jews.
The unJews “arm” our kids with rubber bullets and or paint ball rifles and never allow to act as David of the Nahal Regiment did.
The idf has turned into a political incubator, not a military.
KOL HAKAVOD to the soldier. Kol Hakavod!

  4. They were mistaken as to the cause of removal which was for violent behavior that occurred before the incident.

Violent behaviour in the context of the enemy’s violent behaviour… Am I missing something here?

  5. Nothing strange on the procedure.
Those systems, including the one constructed here undermine all targeted populations, including of course those volunteering to “serve” who are part of the general population. One can be sure that those targetted come from dedicated Jewish groups.
Certain special privileges “service” branches are set aside for their own associates and families.
They do select psychopaths to set up in uniforms and those, for the most to attack the population groups designated by the regime for assault.
The Jewish people in Israel must remove the strata that has assumed vicious control of the state and uses people for their cadre’s benefit only.
