The first, “Stalin the Movie” starring Robert Duvall, is a film on the life of Joseph Stalin, Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from Lenin’s death in 1924 until his own death in 1953. This is a well researched and historically accurate film according to a historian colleague with his Ph. D. from Oxford. It is quite lengthy (almost 3 hours) but can be watched in 2 or even 3 sittings. It is quite amazing how so many people today continue to be influenced by the sham that is Marxism, having no exposure or interest in what this simplistic, extremist, inept and amoral economic system looks like when applied.
This film and others like it should be mandatory for all Grade 11 and/or 12 high school students. The first stage of communist takeover is the grand, but undeliverable, utopian promise, that appeals to people’s better nature by eliminating inequality. When implemented, the people come to realize that the promises were simply hooks designed to attract them but bear no resemblance to reality, and that their former systems worked much better, with all of their flaws and imperfections, than communism. When they attempt to express “buyers’ regret” the immoral and brutal reality of communism rises to the surface.

The second is a shorter documentary about the political life of Lavrentiy Beria, Stalin’s fellow Georgian who rose to become Stalin’s chief executioner responsible for many of the tens of millions of Soviet Union citizens killed by the communists under Stalin. Kruschev executed Beria a scant 3 months after Stalin’s death, and the murders did not cease.;
Feel free to share these neglected pieces of history with your acquaintances and family members. Neither of these reprehensible creatures were bright lights, but they did excel in brutality and lack of conscience. Their cynicism and misanthropy are evident throughout both films. Anyone thinking that the communist leopard changed it’s spots should study what is happening in the PRC, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, and other “functioning” communist dictatorships. Forget what they say, or you will be seduced. Look at what they do, and you will be appalled.
