Poolamets claim that Putin is a “fake Christian” is a remarkably curious one to voice out loud. In fact, the “stupid actions” which Poolamets claims Putin, the “fake Christian”, is utilizing against the West are actually what are generally characterized as anti-Judeo-Christian actions. Indeed, the moves by the West to upend society and known facts, such as having only two sexes, is not a “stupid action” made by the West, but are actually actions being taken to uproot anti-Judeo-Christian values and identities in the West. So if we are left with a choice between the “Fake Christian” who is heralding Judeo-Christian values, or the Western leaders who are championing anti-Judeo-Christian values, which of these parties might we find to be more appropriate to support? In fact, Putin has long argued for the values of the West to be upheld, and has fairly questioned why the West has acted to undermine the values which form the foundation of Western society. Notably, if Putin is in fact a fake Christian, really, I couldn’t care less. He calls out the fraud, duplicity, and anti-Western actions being pursued and exploited in the West, for which everyone in the West is currently suffering. In fact, beyond Putin and Trump, few others in power have actually done so.
One more thing to note is that, while Poolamets claims that Putin is a fake Christian exploiting the Western ‘stupid actions’, Polamet describes the eastern European leaders as honest brokers to whom we might find honest support. Is this due to the fact that the Eastern Europeans are not part of the Orthodox Church? When Poolamet describes Putin as a fake Christian, is this the real meaning of that term? If so, he is both a bigot and and idiot.
Choosing allies should never be based upon common values, but rather upon common interests. Religion is a poor indicator of good allies, or Israel would be looking for its greater support in the US from the American Jews who are far from Israel’s greatest champions. In fact, it takes very little exposure to any history at all to understand that interests wield far greater influence upon the geopolitical stage than do the values or religions of any given nation, be they “fake Christians” or not.
