Peloni: An excellent choice!
A Staunch Ally for Israel Takes the Helm in Global Diplomacy.

President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed that Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will serve as his administration’s U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. The choice of Stefanik, a Republican representative and an outspoken advocate for Israel, signals Trump’s commitment to strengthening U.S.-Israel ties on the international stage. “Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter,” Trump told the New York Post.
Stefanik, a well-known advocate for pro-Israel policies, has made her stance on issues surrounding Israel and antisemitism widely known. Accepting the nomination, she voiced her dedication to advancing a secure U.S. foreign policy that firmly backs America’s allies. In recent comments, Stefanik expressed her concern over the Biden administration’s handling of Palestinian sanctions, noting, “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are choosing to ignore the law and waiving mandatory terrorism sanctions on the Palestinian government.” This position echoes her commitment to combat policies that she perceives as detrimental to Israel’s security.
Throughout her career, Stefanik has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration’s foreign policies, particularly regarding Iran and Palestine, and has championed policies she believes will protect Israel from regional threats. Notably, in 2023, Stefanik gained national attention during a congressional hearing with the leaders of top American universities, where she challenged them on their policies surrounding antisemitism and safety for Jewish students on campus. She later reinforced her commitment to Jewish and pro-Israel students during a Knesset event in May, declaring that “there is no excuse for an American president to block aid to Israel.”
Stefanik has also made headlines for her strong condemnation of Hamas, describing the struggle against the group as one between “civilization and barbarism.” Her statements reflect her belief that supporting Israel is both a moral imperative and a strategic necessity. “The majority of American citizens stand with Israel,” she said, aligning herself with Trump’s “peace through strength” approach, which she credits for bolstering security for the U.S. and its allies.
As she prepares to take on the role of Ambassador to the UN, Stefanik’s established pro-Israel stance is likely to shape her actions and influence U.S. diplomacy on the global stage. She has repeatedly demonstrated her willingness to challenge any policy that she perceives as compromising Israel’s security or America’s standing as a steadfast ally.
Stefanik’s appointment marks a clear shift in U.S. foreign policy that emphasizes loyalty to allies like Israel, a move many Israelis and supporters around the world will likely celebrate.
Also, because they consider him to be too establishment.
No, he doesn’t seem that way to me. https://english.elpais.com/usa/elections/2024-11-13/marco-rubio-trumps-likely-secretary-of-state-tough-on-china-pro-israel-and-anti-ukraine-aid.html
@Laura
I thought Marco Rubio was himself an isolationist?
Why the delay in confirming Marco Rubio for Secretary of State? No doubt he is being talked out of choosing him by his isolationist advisors. Roger Stone had dinner with Trump at Mar A Lago last night. As I told you he talked Trump out of bringing Pompeo back. Rubio will not be the next Secretary of State.
I hope this means cutting the so-called defense spending and not simply killing Social Security, Medicare, and starting a new Great Depression “to clear out the trash”.
The last time 6-7 million people died of hunger in the US from 1930 to 1940 – a lot of trash was cleared out, this time it might be closer to 60-70 million (who needs all those oldsters with their entitlements, right?)!
Elon Musk thinks that Americans got lazy – he boasted that his Chinese workers stay overnight in the factories and sleep on the floor in sleeping bags!
He even slept in a sleeping bag one night with them out of solidarity.
Of course, the next economy and welfare crash will be blamed on Jews, and 150 million Americans are armed to the teeth…
Oh, I forgot, he promised to cut taxes for the very rich and for corporations which, I guess, is one of the ways to cut wasteful expenditures, and another one is to institute huge import tariffs which will make the retail prices go up, like they haven’t already, so that American consumers will be even more motivated to cut down on their wasteful expenditures.
Well, let us start stocking up on popcorn, this will be FUN to watch!

RAFI-
We ALL(?) read yesterday that she represents a heavily GOP district, so that a GOP replacement is a shoo-in.
Did you not catch it-in the same text as the report of her possibly going to the UN/????
She is terrific. Only question is will GOP be short a member in House for critical votes? GOP anticipated majority in House will be slim to start.
