Time is running out for Israel

By Ted Belman

The train has left the station. Israel prefers defense to offense. It in no way has proposed an alternate plan that would take the wind out of the two-state-solution and the demonization of Zionism and Israel, sails. To make matters worse Netanyahu has bowed to the pressure and has instituted a construction freeze even in Jerusalem.

As of 30 October 2014, 135 (69.9%) of the 193 member states of the United Nations and two non-member states have recognised the State of Palestine. Many of the countries that do not recognise the State of Palestine nevertheless recognise the PLO as the “representative of the Palestinian people“. On 29 November 2012, the UN General Assembly passed a motion changing Palestine’s “entity” status to “non-member observer state” by a vote of 138 to 9, with 41 abstentions.[3][4][5][6]

Yoran Ettinger writes in Oy Jerusalem:

“they (GOI) have demonstrated “Oy Jerusalem” feeble action, reflecting limited capability to withstand U.S. opposition to Jewish construction beyond the pre-1967 armistice line. Succumbing to U.S. pressure has yielded more, stronger pressure. Thus, they have constrained the development of Jerusalem’s infrastructure of transportation, housing and employment — a prerequisite for turning the trend of Jewish emigration around — since it requires construction on substantial, state-owned land, available within the largely unpopulated boundaries of reunited Jerusalem, not in the limited parameters of pre-1967 Jerusalem.”

The world and Israel’s position it it is changing all around us and not in a good way.

Don’t just sit there, do something.

  1. @ babushka:

Maybe what we need is a female prime minister of Israel. You know. Someone with balls, so to speak.

I agree with that statement. In the past, many governments have been successful under women leadership.
I like both Nitsana Darshan Leitner and Tzipi Hotovely are strong women with clear thinking and good character.

  2. @ babushka:

In recent years, the most prominent female voice in Israel has been Tsippi Livni. She would have been as bad or worse than Golda Meir had she become PM.

  3. In America, it is the female voices that have been most likely to challenge Obama assertively. Whomever is willing to do that, irrespective of gender, will be the prime minister who honors Ted’s admonition to “Don’t just sit there, do something.”

  4. babushka Said:

Maybe what we need is a female prime minister of Israel. You know. Someone with balls, so to speak.

Israel already had one and she was by far the worst PM in its history. She almost let a second Shoah happen.

  5. Ironically, the answer for Israel comes from the lefty historian Martin Van Creveld, who said Israel must survive by “being like a mad dog, too crazy to bother.”

Israel will have to basically threaten – whether openly or through back channels – that if she is destroyed, she will initiate a nuclear conflict that will be sure to take most of the human race down with her.

This could be done probably one of two ways:

    a) Putting a nuke on Moscow and letting Putin (or his successors) do the rest.

    or

    b) Launch a series of ballistic missiles with nukes so that they explode about 100 miles over Europe, Russia and the Middle East, causing a massive EMP attack that wipes out their electrical systems. Within a year, 90% of the people in the affected regions would be dead. Of course, Putin would then use his nukes (from subs) just like in scenario A.

  6. Don’t just sit there, do something.

But Netanyahu’s governing philosophy is to do nothing. He is constantly on the defensive. Always reactive. Always fearful to seize the initiative. Rather than trying to make things happen, he promotes inertia.

The alliance with the United States has paralyzed Israel. Begin’s masterstroke in bombing the Osiris reactor would not happen today because Israeli leadership has been emasculated by American nagging.

Don’t just sit there, do something.

Doing something significant will require incurring Obama’s wrath. Tragically, Netanyahu lacks the will. He is John McCain: brave in war, gutless in politics.

Maybe what we need is a female prime minister of Israel. You know. Someone with balls, so to speak.

  7. G-d provides opportunities for Jews to survive and to thrive. Our Jewish leaders throw every opportunity into the toilet. Before WWII there were opportunities to massively move Jews to Palestine but most Jewish leaders were opposed. In 1933 Hitler was vulnerable to a boycott but was saved by rich German Jews. In 1948 BenGurion ordered the sinking of the Altelana with its cargo of arms. In 1967 Arabs were fleeing but Moshe Dayan persuaded them to stay and he gave control of the Temple Mount to the Muslims. Attorney Howard Grief wrote the exhaustive study providing that the Jews have full legal rights to the land of Israel. All Jewish leaders refuse to cite their claim to the land and continue to promote the suicidal “two state solution’.
Harvard psychiatrist Kenneth Levin wrote the book “The Oslo Syndrome – the delusions of a People Under Siege” see http://www.oslosyndrome.com
Too many Jews have delusions that are pushing us towards suicidal actions. I fear that, on our own, we are incapable of surviving our enemies. We had all better pray for intervention by G-d.

  8. @ Per: “…come to an end….”, hmmm, but Ted certainly proves why the worst thing we could contemplate is putting someone like bho in the position of POTUS and 80% voted for him. I still cannot get over it, but understand the USA has had nearly 50 years of 70+% intermarriage. In addition to extreme anti Jewish and anti Israel sentiment amongst Gentiles, even some who at one point or another have claimed supposed love for Israel”, but who it turns out also harbor other deep anti ?Jewish feelings, the Jewish Americans are almost more likely to try to stick it to a Jewish co-worker lower on the totem pole in order to be accepted by “everyone”. So, their Jewishness is highly in question. If you eliminate these people, the number of American ?Jews is small indeed and are fairly well represented by the likes of Morton Klein and The ZOA. Israel has a similar problem, a variant. Problem is going to get worse before it gets better. Netanyahu’s hands are tied like every PM since BG. Yet we have Judea and Samaria, do we not. Never give it away.

  9. A lot of patience is required to outwait Obama and his supporters in Washington. Europe is being besieged by millions of Muslim migrants, and can be expected to respond to that threat with increased hatred of Israel. But it will all come to an end. Be patient.
