Time for the gloves to come off

By Gil Solomon, INN

The Obama-brokered “peace talks” have fallen in a heap due to three main issues.

1. The unrelenting demands by an enemy that did not enter the talks in good faith and which to this day continues with the indoctrination of its population to hate the Jews and Israel.

2. The unrelenting concessions demanded by a US administration which on many occasions could have been taken for the mouthpiece of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

3. The realization – finally having sunk in to diehard Israeli leftists – that indulging the PA’s never ending claims and fantasies any further would mean national suicide.

Defying the Obama-inspired “talks” by refusing to release the third batch of murderers gives hope that Israel has had enough and is finally getting up off its knees.

Let the gloves to come off now and let Israel declare the Oslo Accords a tragic mistake that recognized a people who never existed in the annals of history and expose to the world – in clear and unambiguous language – the fiction that is the “Palestinian” narrative.

Israel must declare that the current so called “peace talks” are dead and buried, not just stopped, and that the PA’s day in the sun and limelight on the world stage is well and truly over.

Serious issues now require urgent attention. It is time for Israel to act like a sovereign power in control of its own destiny. According to Israel’s Chief of Military Intelligence, Major General Aviv Kohavi, Israel faces 170,000 rockets aimed at her citizens.

To quote General Kohavi: “Israel is surrounded by 360 degrees of actual enemies. We call this period in time the ‘Era of Fire’, in light of the amount of missiles and rockets we face as a constant threat. There are about 170,000 rockets and missiles that threaten Israel. For the first time the enemy now has the ability to hit Israeli cities hard. IAF pilots can no longer move freely towards their targets and have to dodge missiles that threaten them.”

But if we know the numbers, then we know the locations of these missiles, be they at ground level in the open (unlikely), hidden in houses with detachable roofs which can be opened and shut at will, or stored in the myriad underground tunnels in Gaza.

If ever there was a need for a pre-emptive surprise strike to take out these missile batteries, it is the present. If the “Palestinians” chose to locate these missile batteries in and around their civilian population centres, any collateral damage should be of no concern to Israel.

To those who frown upon this scenario, examine the alternative.

Can Israel afford to wait until these missiles are airborne and cause pandemonium throughout the length and breadth of the country? A devastated Israel will have profound implications for Diaspora Jewry as well.

The gloves coming off should include bringing an end to all hostility in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. No longer should the IDF be taunted by rock throwing Arabs and be expected to do nothing. In short the IDF’s current restraint and paralysis in this arena should be the failed policy of the past and any future acts of terror be confronted by ruthless and overwhelming force.

Israel should finally take control of the Temple Mount, Judaism holiest site, where both Temples stood. It was an act of insanity for Israel to have allowed the Muslim Waqf to retain control of this holy site after the 1967 war. All this because of then Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan’s desire to be seen as magnanimous in victory.

Contrary to popular misconceptions, the Rabbis greatly wanted Israeli control of this site, and were eager to research where Jews were not allowed to go (a job made difficult but not impossible due to Waqf officials sealing up various tunnel entrances once they were given control). Moshe Dayan’s decision doesn’t say much about the people around him at the time in the Israeli cabinet who allowed his decision to prevail.

Control of the Temple Mount would mean not only reclaiming Jewish heritage, but bringing foreign dignitaries there on arrival instead of to Yad Vashem, a memorial to our various graveyards.

The gloves need to now come off now.

All Israeli Arab citizens should be required to swear an oath of allegiance to the Jewish nation. After over half a century of democracy, Israel should no longer have to put up with MK’s like Ahmed Tibi, who spew treason and venom day in day out from within the walls of the Knesset. Israeli Arabs were handed citizenship as if it were confetti being showered on a passing parade.

Now it is time for Israel to take unilateral action on borders, hand the welfare of people outside those borders to the UNHCR, Jordan, Egypt or whoever and to expel all foreign and hostile NGO’s.

Bedouin land claims in the Negev need to be once and for all denied and those living in Israel illegally, including 60,000 Africans need to be deported en masse.

Arab fantasies about a capital in Jerusalem should no longer be entertained, the PA’s office in east Jerusalem shut down and a warning given that the slightest provocation will ensure that supplies of electricity to the “Palestinians” from the Israeli grid will no longer be available 24/7.

In short, the gloves are off and the party’s over.

  1. @ Bert:
If you study history you know that many so called Jewish leaders were complicit in the deaths of Jews during the Holocaust. If the people don’t wake up and follow blindly like sheep they have only themselves to blame.

  2. Gil Solomon is right but this should have been done decades ago. One would think that the loss of our Six Million would have been a permanent education against future illusions. But the Jewish leadership has not only failed to learn from experience but they are allowing the danger of another Holocaust to increase.

  3. The reason that Israeli governments have gone along with this insane peace policy is their refusal to accept the reality of the situation Israel is in. Israel, like many other countries, has a large unassimilated, hostile group of people who would like nothing more than the destruction of their governing body. Therefore, let’s give Judea and Samaria with its’ large Arab population to some mythical Arab state called Palestine. So to rid the body of a cancer you cut the body in half rather than extract the cancer itself. The Japanese call this hari kari.

  4. Now how do we get the GOI specifically Bibi, to sign on to this program. All the naysayers who claim this can never be
done because it will anger world opinion, especially the US,
have to realize whatever Israel does it will be condemned due to never ending anti-Semitism. On the other hand there
will be those nations and individuals who will take the
opposite view and praise Israel with a new found respect for
choosing the right and moral path.

  5. Ha ha. Thanks for your comments, the phoenix. Einstein wasn’t Romanian, but it sounds like something he would have said. Mind you, he would never have given up trying to solve the problem.

  6. @ Buzz of the Orient:

That is what being equal before the law is all about.

There is a saying in Romanian, which translates to:
“We understand the theoretical part… it is the practical part which kills us”
    🙂

  7. My point was that I was getting tired of the actions of Israeli Jews that do nothing more than create more anti-Semitism in the world, or justifies it for those who already are anti-Semitic. Even if Israel were to take off its gloves and stand up like a man I still think that Israelis should act in a civilized manner. I don’t think I have changed – I just don’t think that the acts of vandalism are beneficial. Look, Israel must remain a democracy and there will be citizens of all religions – I believe they must all be treated with respect. If others break the laws, then treat them just as Jews would be treated, no different. That is what being equal before the law is all about.

  8. @ Buzz of the Orient:
With due respect, counselor, I read your comments (6&7)
    I agree with them .
But I have a bit of a trouble understanding what changed since you posted your comment on the
“Nationalists Accuse IDF of Adopting ‘Price Tag’ Revenge Policy” thread?

  9. Tell the ultra-left wing Jewish sympathizers with the “Palestinian Cause” that those of us who are proud of our heritage and wary of the world’s growing anti-Semitism that they are excommunicated, no longer Jews with the right of return to the only land where our religion is not used as a swear word. Let then be forced to wear the yellow stars when “Never again” becomes “Again and again”. Don’t think that I’m a religious fanatic. I’m a secular Jew who is proud of my heritage and I know that without a strong Israel we will once again become the despised “wandering Jews”.

  10. It’s about time. Time to stop trying to please the rest of the world who hate Israel anyway, so what different will happen if Israel gets some baitzim and does what it must to survive.

  11. Gil Solomon for President.
Now we are cooking with gas!

This beautiful essay should be read every morning in every classroom from kindergarten
    to final university graduations.

This covers just about everything and it had to be said.
Now broadcast it world wide. Turn it viral.

    Thank you,
    Mickey

  12. Can Israel afford to wait until these missiles are airborne and cause pandemonium throughout the length and breadth of the country?

Absolutely not!!!!!! Prevention is better than cure!
