This is war, not a civil disturbance

Smotrich: Place a curfew on the Arabs

MK Bezalel Smotrich, who chairs the Religious Zionism party, has called on Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Benny Gantz (Blue and White), and Public Security Minister Amir Ohana (Likud) to bring IDF forces into mixed Jewish-Arab cities to enforce a nightly curfew, Israel Hayom reported.

The demand follows several weeks of Arab violence towards Jews, including lynchingsrock attacks, and mass riots.

“We are not talking about ‘disturbances of order,’ as is stated in the media,” Smotrich explained. “This is war, in every sense of the word.”

“This is the time to bring IDF forces in to aid the police in eliminating terror and returning peace and security to Israel’s citizens.”

Israel Hayom quoted a letter titled “urgent” and sent by Smotrich to Netanyahu, Gantz, and Ohana. In the letter, Smotrich wrote that Israel should provide “military aid to Israel Police, in dealing with the pogroms in Israel’s cities.”

“In recent days, and especially in the past few hours, there is an increase in the violent acts of terror [perpetrated] by Israeli Arabs in Israel’s cities, against Jews. Many citizens, including women and young children, are in constant and real danger of their lives. It is important to clarify that we are not talking about ‘disturbance of order,’ but [about] war in every sense of the word,” he wrote.

“Israel Police is doing all it can,” he added, while noting that it seems the police do not have the capacity to deal on their own with such large-scale events on a national scale, all at the same time. “This leaves many incidents not dealt with or partially dealt with, for a long periods of time, and endangers the lives of the State’s citizens. Civilians under attack find themselves calling the police for several long minutes, while under hellish fire, and their pleas are returned empty. This is not a localized incident, but a widespread phenomenon in various cities and at various times.”

Smotrich emphasized that there are sensitive issues when it comes to bringing the IDF into mixed cities and using military force on civilians, but “we are not discussing civilian disturbances of order, but a national and nationalist violent warlike battle, which justifies this. I ask that you order the call-up of the IDF’s reserve forces and that they be instructed to aid Israel Police.”

Israel, he said, should implement “significant limitations on movement, and even a curfew, on the Arabs in the relevant locations. The reality is that if there isn’t a curfew on the terrorists, it creates a de-facto curfew for hours upon hours on good Jews, law-abiding citizens, who cannot continue their normal routines.”

This is the time “to activate the forces and abilities of the defense system, and cut off, with a single blow, the hand which has risen against us, to destroy us in our cities.”

  1. @ Edgar G.:

    I just searched WIKI

The WorldWideWeb has been heavily edited and censored in the last 10 years or so.

I remember how it was in 2008-2010.

Someone scared the Wikipedia founders into the same heavy editing and censorship a short time afterwards.

I remember that when it was at its best, Wikipedia was actually quoted as a credible source in a college textbook.

It is pretty much worthless now except for the scientific (technical) articles and some basic info that you need to locate quickly.

  2. @ Reader:
That proposal was bruited after the first intifada and the ghettoised fools never proceeded with it. It’s come up a couple of times since, BUT…the Muslim Arafat haven had regretted taking them, as terrorists will be terrorists and they were feeling the strain.

I just searched WIKI for the past 30 mins under many different headings and can not find a single reference to Morocco and the PLO or Arafat.

They won’t take them back. Only 2 solutions……… shove them all into the Sinai and let the Arab/Muslim countries “rush” to their aid, or bundle them over the Jordan into the rightful Israeli Province of Trans-Jordan, and let THEM sort it out over there.

Which is why I strongly support Ted’s and Mudar’s Plan. May it come soon, but altered, to do it in conjunction with an Israeli assist to disenfranchise all Israeli Arabs who will not swear eternal loyalty to Israel…under pain of treason and a life term in solitary confinement….or worse. I really don’t want to see this , I want them ALL to leave.

I always supported Meir Kahane, and also Baruch Goldstein.

  3. @ Edgar G.:
    Thanks for your reply.

we’ll be back to another 2000 year wait

I am a lot less optimistic than you are – I think if Israel goes (God forbid), this time we’ll go together with it.

During the last 30 years Israel gradually relinquished the Zionist ideal.

If Jabotinsky miraculously reappeared now, he’d be arrested and jailed as an extremist.

I think in order to reverse the situation they should announce right now that they are leaving the Oslo accords because they didn’t realize then that they were signing an agreement to commit suicide.

  4. @ Reader:
You are 100% dead right. Evething you’ve pointed out is emet. No country would allow itself to be subjected to what Israel routinely goes through.

Israel, with it’s ghetto mentality still alive, has stoically accepted the position of “The Whipping Boy Of The World”, as natural. Dare we attempt to defend ourselves with REAL teeth….Noooo…!!

The hard fact is Reader, that Jews should stop acting like Jews -but more like Goyim or barbarians-or Israel will cease to exist, and we’ll be back to another 2000 year wait.. Even street toughs will half kill anyone who attacks them
    .

  5. I told you [emphasis mine]:

Abbas: We want a future without settlers
PA chairman demands that Israel put an immediate end to the “occupation”, pledges to continue the “resistance”.
    Dalit Halevi , May 13 , 2021 6:37 AM

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday sent a strong message to Israel and demanded that it end the “occupation” without delay, while pledging to continue the “resistance” until the liberation of all Palestinian lands is achieved.

Speaking at a meeting of the PA leadership in Ramallah, Abbas praised young Palestinian Arabs who led the resistance against Israel and emphasized the importance of Jerusalem in the Palestinian concept.

    https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/306127

See, they are positive that the Jews will cave in.

BTW, it looks like the Arabs want the land way more than the Jews do.

When you really want something, you fight for it instead of negotiating how much of it you’ll be allowed to keep (if any).

  6. @ Edgar G.:
I agree with you completely but this article contains the most radical idea the Jews of Israel will permit themselves to even contemplate.

They seem to be incapable of anything stronger than that, unfortunately.

They don’t even feel insulted when the “world community” kindly permits them to defend themselves from the riots and heavy rocket attacks as long as they don’t hurt their enemies.

Imagine if Mexico decided to foment unrest inside the US and shoot thousands of rockets over the US territory.

Would the US wait for the “world community” to kindly announce that the US has the right to defend itself as long as the US response is “proportionate” and they keep in mind that the Mexicans deserve security?

Would the US government then announce that the Operation Defend US will take a l-o-o-ng time, and go bomb some empty buildings making sure first that no one is inside?

And would the US tolerate someone calling these territories “disputed” and “the new Mexican state”?

  7. From this morning’s Times of Israel:

Grandmother, child, teen girl, caregiver: Victims in Israel of Gaza rockets
Since the outbreak of violence on Monday night, 5 Israeli civilians and an Indian national were killed by projectiles; IDF soldier killed in anti-tank missile strike

Since the outbreak of violence on Monday night, seven people have been killed by rocket and anti-tank missile fire on the Israeli side — five Israeli civilians, an Israel Defense Forces soldier and an Indian national.

Over 1,300 rockets have been fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip since Monday night, drawing deadly retaliatory IDF strikes in the coastal enclave.

The victims of rocket fire were identified as Ido Avigal, 5, of Sderot; Leah Yom-Tov, 63, of Rishon Lezion; Soumya Santosh, 32, a caregiver from India; Khalil Awwad, 52, and his 16-year-old daughter, Nadeen, from Dahmash, near Lod; and Nela Gurvitch, 52, from Ashkelon.

On Wednesday IDF soldier Omer Tabib, 21, from Elyakim, was killed by an anti-tank missile fired at the jeep he was in on the border with the Gaza Strip. Two other IDF soldiers were injured, along with Gil Timor, the deputy mayor of the Hof Ashkelon region, who was injured as he helped pull the other men from the vehicle.

    Killed in a fortified room

The youngest victim on the Israeli side is Ido Avigal, a five-year-old killed on Wednesday night in the southern town of Sderot.

Avigal was critically injured when rocket shrapnel punctured the window of the fortified room he was in, also injuring his mother and seven-year-old sister. He succumbed to his injuries several hours later.

    A devoted grandmother

Leah Yom-Tov was killed when a rocket hit her home in the central region city of Rishon Lezion on Tuesday night, during the largest-ever barrage of rocket fire on central Israel. She is survived by her two children, Moshe and Kfir Peleh, and five grandchildren.

The brothers told Hebrew media on Wednesday how they had both rushed to their mother’s home after they were unable to contact her by phone.

Moshe Peleh, told Channel 12 news that shortly before “the most terrible thing of all happened” his mother had spent “quality time” taking care of his daughter, aged 6.

“She brought her home and shortly after that, this happened. The rocket hit really close to her,” he said. Both brothers rushed to her home after the rocket attack when she failed to answer the phone.

“Mom was a woman full of love, giving and helping,” said Peleh, something that she expressed through her work in natural medicine. “It was felt by anyone who came in contact with her, neighbors, grandchildren, or a person in the street.”

“She worked out of great love, not for the money. It was part of her essence, to give and help other people.”

“On Saturday I spoke with her and she said to me ‘I am fulfilling myself.’ She was in a good place,” he said.

‘She wanted to conquer the world’

Khalil and Nadeen Awwad were killed when a rocket landed near their car in Lod, a Jewish-Arab city. Awwad’s wife, who was also in the car, was seriously injured, medics said.

“I know it sounds like a cliché and they always say that the best people are the ones who lose their lives, but Nadine really was a very, very special girl,” her principal, Shirin Natur Hafi, told the Kan public broadcaster.

“She was in 10th grade, studying in the biology-chemistry track. She had dreams of changing the world. She was such a special girl, such a talented girl. She wanted to conquer the world,” Hafi said.

Lod Mayor Yair Revivo early Wednesday said the slain were members of the Arab community.

“Hamas missiles do not differentiate between Jews and Arabs,” Revivo said.

    An Indian caregiver

32-year-old Soumya Santosh, an Indian national, was killed when a rocket crashed into the Ashkelon home where the caregiver was sitting with her elderly charge. The other woman, 80, was seriously injured in the strike.

Channel 12 reported that the rocket shelter was at least a minute’s run away from the elderly woman’s home and the pair did not manage to reach it in time. The home did not have a fortified room of its own.

According to the Haaretz daily, Santosh is survived by her husband and nine-year-old daughter.

No information was immediately released on the second victim of the Ashkelon rocket fire, Nela Gurvitch, 52, whose husband was also injured.

Staff Sgt. Omer Tabib, 21, from the Nahal Infantry Brigade, who was killed when an anti-tank guided missile struck his jeep north of the Gaza Strip on May 12, 2021. (Israel Defense Forces)
The Nahal Infantry Brigade’s 931st Battalion, Staff Sgt. Omer Tabib, 21, from Elyakim, on Wednesday became the military’s first casualty in the current round of fighting when an anti-tank guided missile was fired at an Israeli military jeep on the Gaza border.

Medics said the three soldiers were hurt by shrapnel and the force of the blast, while a man in his 40s, Gil Timor, the deputy mayor of the Hof Ashkelon region, sustained a moderate injury from a piece of shrapnel as he helped pull the other men from the vehicle.

According to the Strip’s Hamas-run health ministry, 53 Palestinians have died since Monday night, including 14 minors and three women, and 320 have been wounded. The IDF said more than half of those killed were members of terror groups involved in the fighting and that some, including several of the children, were killed by errant rockets fired from Gaza that fell short of the border and landed inside the Strip, not by Israeli strikes.

  8. @ Reader:
There is only one successful -AND PROVEN -response. It’s the doctrine of “Overwhelming Force”.

Let the EU Anti-Semites shout all they want to, it’s our country and our lives at stake.

  9. The only response: A sovereignty offensive!
In face of the mounting waves of terrorism striking all over Israel, we must return to the fundamental element that is driving the entire storm and respond to our attackers with a proud Zionist response – a sovereignty and governance offensive. Op-ed

The statements below are mine (not from the article):

The current government acts like a Judenrat of a ghetto, not like a responsible government of a sovereign country

If they don’t get their act together, they will have a divided jerusalem and a “Palestinian” state on their hands, and the Arab 5th column establishing their armed enclaves within Israel as facts on the ground!

And a lot more dead and wounded Jews.

  10. This is a prep for the Two-State Final Solution, and the Government of Israel is collaborating with it.

Notice how everyony is getting involved to “stop the violence on both sides!”:

    the UN Security Council meeting for the 2nd time in 3 days where our best friend and ally the United States saves us at the last moment from a nasty resolution;

    the UN ceasefire offer;

    Russia is ready to help;

and the Government of Israel prolonging the pain by pretending that it is unable to do anything quickly and decisively (implying that there is no solution “through violence” or the solution is too difficult for it to implement) in order to convince the population that the only way to have peace is to divide Jerusalem and to create a (demilitarized, of course) “Palestinian” state – the “Arab Israelis” must remain inside the country.

    Hamas is playing the winner:
    https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-official-tells-russia-were-ready-for-ceasefire-with-israel/

All of this has nothing to do with who is in power in the US, who is liberal an who is conservative, Israel’s level of preparation, etc.

It’s the usual – they want us dead and we are helping them kill us.

  11. Also from today’s Arutz Sheva:

Israel under fire: Sgt. Omer Tabib killed by Gaza terrorists
Hamas launches mortars at medical personnel attempting to treat victims of attack near Gaza border.

    Omer Tabib
Israel suffered its first military fatality in the ongoing conflict with the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists in the Gaza Strip Wednesday when Sgt. Omer Tabib was killed by an anti-tank missile near the Gaza border.

Another soldier was seriously injured and an IDF officer was moderately injured in the attack.

Omer Tabib was 21 years old. He was a soldier in the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. His family has been notified of his death,

Seconds after the attack, dozens of mortars were fired at the scene of the incident, in an attempt to make it difficult for the medical staff who arrived to treat the wounded. Hamas’ military wing claimed responsibility for the attack.

Magen David Adom paramedic Ravit Martinez, who treated the wounded in the field under fire, said: “This was a serious incident, we reached the wounded in the field with alarms going off in the background and as the shooting continued. Those wounded suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. We took care of them while taking shelter from ongoing fire. After providing urgent vital treatment on the ground, and when it was possible to escape from the missile bombardment, we evacuated the wounded to a safe place and there, with the help of an MDA doctor and other MDA forces, we transported them to the hospital.”

IDF forces and the Shin Bet today (Wednesday) retaliated by carrying out a complex and first-of-its-kind operation to assassinate four senior Hamas commanders in Gaza City and Khan Yunis.

The senior commanders are a key part of Hamas’ General Staff Forum and are considered close to the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization, Muhammad Deif.

Among those assassinated: the Gaza City Brigadier General, the head of Hamas’ cyber and missile improvement system, and the head of its production department.

  12. Also from today’s Arutz Sheva:

Curfew declared in Lod, over 20 arrested
Residents ordered to remain in their homes between 8 PM and 4 PM.

    terror in Lod
Police have announced that a curfew will be imposed on the city of Lod from 8 PM to 4 AM. By 7 PM, more than 20 suspects had been arrested for disturbing the police in Lod.

Lod Mayor Yair Revivo said: “Tonight I call on all residents of the city to obey the provisions of the law and the police and stay in their homes so we can calm the spirits in the city and begin the process of treatment and restoration, and to maintain the safety of our residents.”

“Police forces recently arrived on Giborim Street in Hadera along with a procession of civilians, while enforcing public order and freedom of movement in the city,” police said.

“After protesters began trying to attack other civilians, police began dispersing the procession and arrested about 15 suspects on suspicion of involvement in attempts to disrupt public order and attack others. The police forces continue to remain in place and peace has been maintained.”

  13. From today’s Arutz Sheva

Sderot: 7 injured, including 6 year old in critical condition
Scene of rocket attack in Ashkelon
At around 7:20 pm, heavy barrages of rockets were fired at Gush Dan and central and southern communities.

After the launches, a direct hit was identified on a house in Ashkelon. Much damage was done to the structure, but no injuries were reported.

In Sderot, a direct hit was also identified at the house, where seven people were injured, including a six-year-old boy who was critically injured.

At the same time, IDF fighter jets this evening attacked a 14-story building in the southern Gaza Strip which housed the military intelligence offices of the Hamas terrorist organization, as well as communications infrastructure used to convey tactical-military messages by the terrorist organizations.

The Political-Security Cabinet is currently convening for a special discussion in order to decide whether to expand the operation. The IDF attacked another high-rise building in the Gaza Strip and a squadron of Islamic Jihad anti-tank missile launchers.

Earlier, Sergeant Omer Tabib, 21, from Elyakim, was identified as the combat soldier from the Nahal Brigade who was killed today, Wednesday, by an anti-tank missile near Netiv Ha’asara in the Gaza Strip. He is survived by his parents, Tali and Amir, and one brother in ninth grade. His funeral will take place tomorrow.

An IDF officer and another combat soldier were lightly and severely wounded in the incident, and they were evacuated under mortar fire to Barzilai and Soroka hospitals

  14. IL IDF has never acquired deterrence for the Islamofascists don’t care using their children and hospitals as shield or kill IL children and women! A total defeat of Islamofascist is the only solution.

It is clear that the Biden’s Adm has reinstated the anti-IL belligerence of the Obama’s days! This has been a green light for the Islamofascists.
