By Michael Diamond
It has been awhile since I have sent out an email. And yet I have read so many articles, about so many things. Unfortunately, virtually all the articles suggest that we are in a period of what I define as negative momentum- which is another way of saying we as a world are going in entirely the wrong direction, and if there is no reversal, we are not going to like the results.
Let me attempt a summary of the areas of negative momentum; there are many, and forgive me if I miss a few. But there will be enough for you to definitely get the point:
- lets start with the greatest area of concern which carries with it the greatest possible negative impact- the state of negotiations between the US led west, and Iran. It would appear the US has set a goal which will leave Iran with the ability to create a nuclear weapon. And it would appear that even to get that, Iran is not prepared to agree. Simply put, they do not believe that anyone should be telling them what to do, feel entirely free to threaten Israel daily with extermination, and get away with the whole escapade because there is no one on the other side who has the balls to stand up to them. Certainly not Obama- and this theme will resound often in this email. At one point the US led sanctions were biting- so Obama let up on the sanctions in return for what….for the agreement to enter into negotiations which are going on to this day while the sanctions remain weak and next to useless. At this stage, Iran is going to have the ability to get the bomb on Obama’s watch, and we will all live to regret the day that this incompetent was nominated by the Democrats and elected by the American people.
Iran is the largest overt sponsor of terrorism in the world (the largest covert sponsor is elements of Saudi Arabia through their wahhabi doctrine which they finance worldwide under our noses), support Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and has wreaked havoc in the world for decades. Think what this world will be like with an Iranian nuclear threat? Sorry grandchildren- I tried.
- now to the continued rise of ever more barbaric versions of Islamism; I don’t have to list the characters, but there are a whole series of them, all competing to see who can be the most barbaric, the most evil, kill in the worst ways, degrade women as effectively as possible, and encourage young disaffected Muslims, and a few non-Muslims, to join them. ISIS is so effective that it was able to get Obama to unleash limited US firepower against it through its highly effective Beheading PR. ISIS has so impacted Obama’s psyche that the US is actually cooperating with its enemy, Iran, looking for ways to stop ISIS. Really? You actually need Iran Barack?
- and lets swing over to Israel, and watch the disgusting behaviour of the Obama administration- Kerry included- as they bully Israel because that is the only country that they have the balls to bully. Under the biased watch of the UN and various so-called human rights organizations, Israel is held under a microscope as it attempts to “live a normal life” of a western country. The double standards demonstrated by the world in general, and by Israel’s so-called greatest ally, the US, are remarkable at the level of the US administration and the State department. Obama and his useful idiots are more obsessed with the building of apartments in areas which under any settlement would be part of ISrael anyway, than they are with anything else going on in the world right now. And we know what is going on and it is not pretty. There is no morality here, and worse, no strategy or common sense. Thankfully, there are significant US interests that remain Israel positive- from the military, to the security establishment, to the commercial world and Congress. That, along with the common sense of the majority of the American people (as demonstrated by the results of the mid term elections) is one positive. And I guess the other positive is that we only need to watch the damage caused by Obama for another two years before he becomes enshrined as the worst President in the area of international affairs in modern history.
- how is the world doing in its focus on improving the welfare of women and children? abysmally….
- North America is seeing more and more Islamist activity on campus and elsewhere; this is leading to more and more anti-Semitic behaviour, sometimes in the guise of anti-Israel attacks, but often pure anti-semitism….death to the Jews, Jews to the fires,,,etc…are becoming more and more common chants, particularly in Muslim dominated areas of Europe and of course many Muslim countries. Neither the media, nor most world leaders, are willing to stand up to these attacks, which further emboldens them .
- Emboldened by the Obama Doctrine- “Say nothing useful and carry a small stick”, other countries have arisen to replace the US to compete as the world’s policeman, led of course by Russia where the dictator Putin does pretty well what he wants to do both within Russia and elsewhere. There is a temporary calm in the Ukraine right now, but look for more action soon. He is not finished yet.
- the natural allies of we North Americans, the Europeans, are having a dismal time- their economy is stuck in neutral or worse, the prospects of coming out of it strongly are dim, their governance is under attack and there is much unrest, and they are beginning an internal conflict which will be required to save their societies from being overwhelmed by the Islamists (and some would suggest I say Muslims) who have taken over large swaths of territory and established what is in essence local rule.
- if there is one positive, I saw it today as I watched the well attended Remembrance Day ceremonies in Ottawa. Is it possible that all that applause for the veterans, and all that appreciation for those who have lost their lives fighting for this comparative paradise we live in here in Canada, suggests that Canadians not only value what we have, but also recognize that what we have is under attack and cannot be taken for granted? Were that to be the case, and were the Conservatives to win the next election, we actually have a good chance of stopping the negative momentum related to creeping Islamism in this country. Of course, lurking in the wings is the charming Justin, whose latest inane comments suggest that using military action to fight for our values is not something he supports. I could go on about that threat but I will wait until closer to the net Federal election.
- and in Israel itself, the Palestinians on the West Bank, and in Israel itself, are starting to demonstrate one of the many great values of Palestinianism- take a life, give your own, and become a martyr, egged on by the moderate Abbas who is in the process of putting Obama in the position of having to either veto a Security Council resolution to see the establishment of a Palestinian state (without any infrastructure or boundaries which guarantees a rogue state) or see such a state be declared. That surely will put Israel in an interesting quandary if it happens. It seems that, almost daily, Palestinians are using knives, cars and other approaches to kill whoever happens to be in their path, having no regard for their own lives. I am going to close with this item, and an article about one of the young women killed by another Islamist barbaric madman…an article which points out that in Israel, lives actually matter, but also demonstrates that in the international media, the lives of Jews do not matter at all.

My Father fell in love with the Irish when he was an English Lit major at the University of Chicago. I have his volumes of James Joyce and Yeats. I am sending you our equivalent of your New Grange, not as old but just as mystic in it’s own way.

Nice to see interest. I visited it and was inside but not on THE day. On Solstice they are there now by lottery. they wait and as the sun rises it starts to enter through the box which is quite small, perhaps A4 size and the beam beins to move around the interior but hits a particular image on a Stone. Who knows what it eans there are so many conjectures but it is certain there was sun worship and especially moon worship if that is the right Word. It was part of their lives
and perhaps this may be close:
“Newgrange was constructed over 5,000 years ago (about 3,200 B.C.), making it older than Stonehenge in England and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Newgrange was built during the Neolithic or New Stone Age by a farming community that prospered on the rich lands of the Boyne Valley. Knowth and Dowth are similar mounds that together with Newgrange have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Archaeologists classified Newgrange as a passage tomb, however Newgrange is now recognised to be much more than a passage tomb. Ancient Temple is a more fitting classification, a place of astrological, spiritual, religious and ceremonial importance, much as present day cathedrals are places of prestige and worship where dignitaries may be laid to rest.”

I always loved this side of Ireland. It is filled with mystery and the damp mists rolling in from the Atlantic made the Irish what they are … full of romanticism

Thanks for the link, very interesting.

I see this all the time and it is a huge problema. The Jewish ruling clases cannot ever break free from NATO
Diamond IS talking about the war by NATO on Russia here and he takes sides
Si when his chums mop up Russia (a small country in reality where geography is not the deciding factor in war that it was in the time of napoleon and the Nazis) and these chums come gunning for the “settlers” you will understand my point.
Besides potatoes whata you got???
Well we Irish built a sophisticated observatory 1000 years before the Pyramids

But I hate this. it is not a competition. The Jews are a great people in my opinión the greatest. the irish are a great people.

If it did would I post what I post ????????

I didn’t see where he made reference to Nato…
Not to be contentious Felix but here we produce supercomputers on threads of DNA. You Irish? Besides potatoes whata you got??? I really like the Irish even some of their most notable Jew haters, but Irish commies? Touch choice between them and Muslims.

Wrap your head around this teaching:
“Rabbi Eleazar ben Azariah says: Where there is no Torah, there’s no right conduct, where there is no right conduct, there’s no Torah; where there is no wisdom, there’s no piety, where there is no piety, there’s no wisdom; where there is no perception, there’s no knowledge, where there’s no knowledge, there’s no perception; where there is no bread, there’s no torah, were there is no Torah, there’s no bread.” (Pirke Avot chapter three, verse 21)
What insane idiots! Diamond can always cal on his lovely NATO to help out!!!
As Jews we keep ignoring the warning of Genesis 12:3. Our enemies keep accumulating evil deeds against Israel and will bring down upon themselves divine punishment. There is also global evil which contributes to destroying the environment and we are in the midst of the Sixth Extinction where many species are going extinct are a rapid rate. This is something which still remains largely unreported and hence ignored – at least for now.
yamit82 Said:
without wisdom faith is blind and without faith there is no wisdom.

bernard ross Said:
Try adding the necessary ingredient to wisdom. Faith!!! Not blind faith.
yamit82 Said:
The rational, reasonable and logical conclusions do not always predict reality whereas wisdom usually does.
@ woolymammoth:
Yes. What it boils down to is the willingness of Israeli politicians to accept the world as it is NOW. Which is not the same as it was yesterday, or ten years ago, or in 1967. This implies, of course, the open-mindedness and willingness to accept something called “change,” which is a feature of human existance. Once one sees that the world-paradigm has changed, the new world-paradigm should be dealt with in a very intense way, which will inevitably be different from how it’s “usually” handled.
Of course all this applies to governments everywhere, not just in Israel. The problem is that the people voted into government, are, in general, not suited to the purpose described.
Is there anyone on this site who 20 years ago was as optimistic about Israel as they should have been?
I wasn’t, and I was very optimistic. Israel has outperformed all expectations. It has become more powerful and more prosperous than anyone imagined, which is why the envious Gentile world is flaking out.
I expect a repeat, 20 years from now Israel will be far better off than anyone currently imagines.
So much disappointment is in store for the anti-Zionist crowd. I can hardly wait. I’m already getting a head start on some heavy duty gloating. I’m taking preemptive pleasure in their upcoming pain. 🙂
Hey! I hear the world is against us.
Rational people could not imagine that beliefs protect, yet that’s how the Jews survived—against all odds. Rational people told Moses it was unsafe to leave Egypt, and then wanted to return. Rational Jews agreed with rational scouts that Canaan was unconquerable. Rational Jerusalemites advised the king to surrender to the Babylonians. Rational, progressive Jews submitted to Antiochus and ate pork—until the Maccabees arose. Rational Jews understood that there is nothing wrong with Christianity, and converted. That Germans are a civilized people, and did not flee to Palestine. That Zionism is utopia, and stayed in Russia. That Turks and Christians would never concede Jerusalem to Jews, and accepted Uganda. That a Jewish militia cannot win against Arab armies, and urged us to abstain from proclaiming a Jewish state. That Israel was lost in 1973, and urged capitulation.
“What can we do?” is not the proper question. Rather ask, “What should we do?”
We must keep Israel a Jewish state. That includes three objectives.
One, keep Israel: concede no land to the Arab enemy.
Two, keep the country Jewish: expel Israeli Arabs to Jordan.
Three, keep the state Jewish: enshrine the values of Judaism, Eretz Israel, and Jewish nationhood in constitutional law, and ban leftist discussion of these core values.
I have known the author for many years and have followed his work on behalf of Israel both before and after making aliyah. His short bio can be found here. I am heartened to know that someone who thinks like this has an influential leadership role in Toronto. An active pro-Israel blogger, he served on the Board of the former Canada-Israel Committee as well as in support of Holy Blossom Temple. At UJA Federation he serves on the Board, on the rapidly growing Israel Engagement Committee, and on the Jewish Identity Committee and was one of the founders of the Young Emissary program of Makom / Federation.
I respectfully agree and at the same time respectfully disagree.
The iran conundrum presents opportunities for natural alliances to take root and chart a course for the only outcome acceptable.
I do not believe iran is going to prevail and get the bomb.
Obama can only resist for so long in the absence of significant iranian concessions, which are highly doubtful. The United States will not be inclined allow a situation to exist in which it can be blamed for a nuclear iran. It may be useful to review exactly how The US ddefeated in WW2. Keep in mind we had notable quislings in important positions who were pro hitler in a major way. they are still here in The “intelligence community”.
You are quite right about the bum kerry, oh i am sorry should i be more respectful of the honourable J-clERK.
Yes, the Canadian Gov’t has displayed courage, not to mention The Czech Republic, to name just a few good friends.
The midterm elections were a desperately needed turning point. The senate and house are with US; a gift that keeps on giving so…THAT development should give one pause.
I am optoimistic.
It is up to Israelis to make it clear that terrorism will not be tolerated, at all. Oslo is dead. It is time to chart an entirely new course. If the current leader(s) fail to adapt they will lose their seat.
