Saturday has begun, as I write. We’ll see whether or not anything comes of this.
Is this the “European Spring”? I doubt it. Where are the leaders, on either side? Merckel leads nothing; Macron leads 18% of France; Theresa May us keading a Sucatraps revolt (Spartacus spelled backwards — a revolt INTO slavery); Juncker can’t rule a bottle of gin. Energized by the Brexit Spirit, potential leaders like Michael Gove, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are like a football team on a field without goal posts, who don’t know which way to run.
Where are the Three Stooges, now that Europe needs them to guide the continent? or the Keystone Kops? How does one raise a generation of leaders, for countries hell-bent in going out of existence? Europe us pusilanimous, aimless and doomed.
