My book The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism includes extensive first time English translations of Tantawi’s academic magnum opus, Jews in the Koran and the Traditions. Tantawi wrote these words in his 700 page treatise, rationalizing Muslim Jew hatred:
[The] Koran describes the Jews with their own particular degenerate characteristics, i.e. killing the prophets of Allah [Koran 2:61/ 3:112], [and see Sheikh Saqr’s Koranic citations, above] corrupting His words by putting them in the wrong places, consuming the people’s wealth frivolously, refusal to distance themselves from the evil they do, and other ugly characteristics caused by their deep-rooted lasciviousness…only a minority of the Jews keep their word…[A]ll Jews are not the same. The good ones become Muslims [Koran 3:113], the bad ones do not.
Tantawi was apparently rewarded for this scholarly effort by being named Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, a position he held for 14-years. These were the expressed, “carefully researched” views on Jews held by the nearest Muslim equivalent to a Pope — the head of the most prestigious center of Muslim learning in Sunni Islam, which represents some 85 to 90% of the world’s Muslims. And Sheikh Tantawi never mollified such hatemongering beliefs since becoming the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar as his statements on “dialogue” (January 1998) with Jews, the Jews as “enemies of Allah, descendants of apes and pigs” (April 2002), and the legitimacy of homicide bombing of Jews (April 2002) make clear.
Tantawi’s statements on dialogue, which were issued shortly after he met with the Israel’s Chief Rabbi, Israel Meir Lau, in Cairo, on December 15, 1997, provided him another opportunity to re-affirm his ongoing commitment to the views expressed about Jews in his Ph.D. thesis:
…anyone who avoids meeting with the enemies in order to counter their dubious claims and stick fingers into their eyes, is a coward. My stance stems from Allah’s book [the Koran], more than one-third of which deals with the Jews…[I] wrote a dissertation dealing with them [the Jews], all their false claims and their punishment by Allah. I still believe in everything written in that dissertation. [i.e., Jews in the Koran and the Traditions, cited above]
Not surprisingly, according to Pew polling data, at least 95% of Egyptian Muslims currently view Jews “unfavorably.”
This is the irrefragable, mainstream Islamic doctrinal and historical context — uninterrupted for over a millennium — which explains why those throngs of Muslim men who sexually assaulted Lara Logan shouted, “Jew! Jew!”
Unlike relativist liberals like you, I make no distinction between any German. Without the overwhelming support of most Germans Hitler, would never have either come to power or succeeded in bringing Germany to their total defeat. In the early years he had near unanimous support.
Were it up to me I would have liquidated every German man woman and child. Their tactics may have changed but their global ambitions of world dominance still drives them today. I don’t think sexual arousal had anything to do with it. If you have ever seen the cultural preferences (types of women they find attractive culturally) of most Arabs you wouldn’t be so quick to jump to your erroneous conclusions here.
Toward the end of WWII, the Russian Army raped just about every woman in Germany. The wholesale rape was not a military measure by any standard; it didn’t serve to crush the German will to fight, which was already at the low point by then. The rape was not an expression of Russian barbarity: the female populations of Soviet-occupied Eastern Europe were largely spared. The rape was an act of vengeance and hate, and I wholeheartedly approve of vengeance and hate especially of my enemies.
Most Egyptians and probably most Muslims hate anything western and this incident was most probably a manifestation of their hatred.
I agree that his comment sucked but his “turning” the incident is simply reminiscent of the 3rd stanza of Tom Lehrer’s song, National Brotherhood Week.

But if Hamas murdered a bunch of Jews in Israel, it would be very easy to find Jews who would justify the actions of Hamas. You could find them all over the place,

Ultimately, the matter must be analysed with greater care and understanding than Samuel Fistel’s rant against gentiles.

Low value of peace treaties
Riots that erupted in Bahrain, Algeria, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Jordan illustrate just how unimportant peace treaties really are in the Middle East. Egyptian opposition figures hint repeatedly that the Camp David era is over. In Jordan, local monarchy which stayed in power on Bedouin bayonets is now trembling as Bedouins openly oppose the king. When the monarchy is toppled, the Bedouins will join hands with Jordanian Palestinians, which would leave no place for the peace treaty with Israel.
The really interesting thing would be a spillover of riots from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. Though the White House warned ‘autocrats’ about the changing world, the US cannot afford a Shiite revolution in Saudi Arabian oilfield region.
After 5 wars with Egypt in 25 years and having defeated them ea. time, I fail to see why we should have to thank Mubarak for maintaining the nonbelligerent status of the Camp David Accords. It’s the stupid Jews here who traded the most tangible assets for a piece of paper and a flag in Cairo. Name me one other country in the world who would have traded billions of dollars worth of oil and natural gas and then imported under contract some oil and gas from the same entity that received them from us for free?
Tell me Narvey what do you think Mubarak did good for us in the last 30 years? The agreement didn’t reduce even our military costs and in fact our costs increased by X3 at least what they were before our agreements with Egypt and Jordan.

Why is that? It is this simple: goyim suck. The goyim are terrified of free Jews who seem to be beyond their control. They can tolerate us in America, where they can keep an eye on us, but a free and independent Jewish State of Israel is just too much for them.
We can tell them all we want that there are just six million Israeli Jews there, in a world of six billion goyim (one out of thousand), but they will say that that is six million too many. We can tell them that Jewish Israel is just nine miles wide, and they will still say that that is “too big”.

It takes different forms at different times, with different rationales, but always comes to the same conclusion: “We cannot allow the existence of free Jews anywhere.”
We can play their game when we deal with them, and let them think they are fooling us, but at least at one time in one place let this one free Jew say: enough already.
It should be no surprise that the Egyptian street mobs are anti-Israel and brimming with Jew hatred. Whatever good Mubarek did for Israel these past 30 years, he and his regime fostered or tactly approved Jew hatred in Egypt.
In the opening days of the “pro-democracy” demonstrations, eleven members of two Copt Christian families were brutally massacred. The attack got no press coverage. The demonstrators then took to raping women (Logan was apparently not the only one), and this is the first I’ve seen of the matter. If the crowds hadn’t chanted, “Jew! Jew!”, I doubt I would even have seen this on Israpundit.
My President has glorified the Arab mobs, so the obeissant press feels obligated to canonize them all as saints. They are mobs: wicked, lawless mobs.
