  1. Hi, Tanna. I just now saw your latest post.

The Bible has a few sibling rivalries: Cain vs. Abel, Ishmael vs. Isaac, Esau vs. Israel, the brothers vs. Joseph, Absalom vs. Amnon. The Jewish rabbis say Esau is a type of the Christians, and the Christians say he is a type of the Jews. Pick your side, and go fight, if you want to (which I know you don’t).

If one wants to weave Jesus into this saga (I’m talking about the character described in the gospels), he lived in times not too different from our own. The Jews were living in their own land (under Roman control), in Babylon (under Parthian control) and throughout the Roman Empire. Today the “Romans” are the Western World leaders (Schwab, Soros, Biden, etc.), the Babylonians are the Russians, the Parthians are the Chinese… the names change, to protect the guilty; but it’s the same war. Jesus said to submit to the Romans (who, together with the Jewish leaders, ultimately killed him), and his disciple Paul (also opposed by the Jewish leaders and ultimately killed by the Romans) said that “as much as is possible”, we ought to try to live peacabley with all men.

After every side got to have their fill of bloodletting, the Roman Empire had become nominally Christian and the Jews and Christians were both scattered throughout the Roman, Axumite, Persian and Hephthalite empires. As it says in Revelation,

    Rev. 12:
[5] And she (Israel) brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
[6] And the woman fled into the wilderness (the Gentile world), where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

That is where we stand today. Rome is still at war with Babylonia and Parthia; and Jews and Christians alike are fighting on both sides. My place of refuge is on the cross.

  2. @Michael S.

This is NOT WWII. A zealous, patriotic Russia is NOT fighting a hated, invading Nazi Germany. The “patriots” are the Ukrainians, defending their own homeland.

I would like to repeat my opinion about what is going on that I already posted a couple of days ago:

In my opinion, the West is replaying WWII, except in WWII the Uebermenschen risked their own lives to kill the Untermenschen, and in this one the Untermenschen are killing each other and the Uebermenschen are eating popcorn and watching the slaughter on their TVs.
The idea is to conquer Eurasia, and then the Anglos will own the whole world.

The more Eastern Europeans (Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Lithuanians, etc., etc.) will get involved in this meat grinder, the happier the US and NATO are going to be.

  3. Miachel,

WOW….. almost like Jacob and Esau. Twin brothers we are. Completely agree with you and I understand how difficult it is to grow to a place to understand all you said. Peace.
P.S Putin is still doing what Hashem wants done! 🙂

  4. Hi, Tanna. You said,

But how is my accepting him going to change the world I live in….. except my world of my house, my yard.

I wonder what you mean by “accepting him”. I don’t believe that’s a term that can be used objectively. Let’s see; what did I say…

“Accept that Jesus is the Messiah, and become his disciple.”

OK. You answered that. You said, essentially, that you do accept that someone called “Yeshua”

Yeshua from 2,000 yrs. ago. But not the Jesus of Christianity.

I accept that at face value; it’s essentially what I believe, if we are using the same lexicon . I guess it hinges on what we call “Christianity”. I don’t believe “Christianity” represents Jesus the way he’s shown in the Bible; and if this is your understanding also, we are on common ground. We also are in agreement, if you believe “Yeshua from 2000 years ago” is as described in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke-Acts and John), then we are in very close agreement. If this isn’t the case, though, all bets are off.

Getting back to “how is my accepting him going to change the world I live in….. except my world of my house, my yard.”, first of all, the obvious: Your “world” is much bigger than you describe it. I live in a condominion with over 50 units, and just about everyone here knows a great deal about just about everyone else. Besides this, we have a circle of friends that goes back over 50 years, and we have been in personal contact, on and off, with them over that whole span. They know people, and those people know others. I’ve talked and dined with people from all walks of life, from national leaders to drug addicts in recovery, from all over the world. My grandson was conceived in New Zealand, and spent time in Europe, Asia, Africa and America before he was one year old. I grew up in poverty, the son of an unemployed electrician; so my situation is not exceptional. Andy Warhol said we all have 15 minutes of fame. I spent two days and nights with Andy Warhol.

The bottom line is, we are all intimately affecting, and affected by, the whole world. What we say or do to our spouse or neighbor can and does change the course of history. That is why I said if we want to change the world for good, we need to become DISCIPLES of Jesus: “talmidim”; students, followers. We need to know what he actually said, believe it, and do it. If we do, then as he himself said, he will live inside us, and we will be as he was in the world.

Jesus was a human being. It’s essential, in following him, that we understand this. The Muslims reject this idea, and the vast majority of Christians are confused about it. Jesus was of exactly the same makeup as you and me. He had X and Y chromosomes. X came from Mary, and Y came from Joseph — a descendant of King David, the Jew descended of a harlot (Rahab) and a whoremonger (Judah). The Bible says he suffered in every way, just as we have; and he was tempted in all things. The only thing that separates him from everyone else in the world, is his unique relationship with God — a relationship of God’s choosing, not his own. If this is our understanding of the “Jesus” we trust in, then it is possible to follow him as a disciple. If it isn’t, then we cannot.

Jesus had a public life of some three years, and discipled a handful of people. Then he died, as the ALL deserted him. God raised him from the dead, and they didn’t believe it. He appeared in the flesh before their eyes, and some still doubted. Finally, they did believe, enough to stay in hiding together for ten days. Then, as prophesied by Joel the Prophet, the Holy Ghost fell upon them and empowered them; and as it was testified of them even by unbelievers, they “turned the world upside down”.

You asked, “How do we deal with this?” and I believe you are sincere; so I had to answer you truthfully, as I understand these things.

    Shalom shalom. Moadim L’simcha 🙂

  5. Michael,

    you said:
    1. Accept that Jesus is the Messiah, and become his disciple. That’s the ON/OFF switch to getting any power to your “change machine”. — I do live in the US. I do believe that when Messiah shows up, he will be Yeshua from 2,000 yrs. ago. But not the Jesus of Christianity. But how is my accepting him going to change the world I live in….. except my world of my house, my yard. I go to town and see all the homeless devils and the work of our government. Our newspaper has a full page or more of jail dockets. NO punishment, just part of the system paying the court monthly, see their probby and walking the street. Same people month by month. That’s why I think the only hope is for messiah to show up and start kicking ass and taking names. When I’m in charge, we start with our leaders at every level. Including in the church and Synagogue. Our world will not listen regardless of who wins the current disagreement about who he(messiah) is.

    You said:
    2. Become a precinct committeeperson in the party of your choice. That’s where the real power is in politics. — REALLY……… The only power I want is to help Messiah put this earth in order and the only way I see that happening is not natural….. supernatural should help. All the history I know shows me humankind is not going to submit themselves to GOD and his Messiah. So, to quote a Rabbi, “The only thing I see coming in the future is a bloodbath” He was speaking of the unrighteous not the righteous.

    You said:
BTW, Putin is one evil bugger. I won’t even try to rank him with the others. — Maybe you should try ranking him with the USA Presidents of your lifetime and see who has the highest body count.

The worlds in a mess my friend and I agree with you about your children and grandchildren. I fear for mine and I have them of legal age for the draft and others coming on that will be eligible for the next 25 years or so.

  6. The Russian Embassy in Israel responded to PM Lapid’s condemnation of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.

“Unfortunately, Israel has chosen to remain silent during eight years of Ukrainian terrorist attacks on the citizens of Donbass [annexed region of Ukraine], turned a blind eye to the latest murderous Ukrainian attack on a refugee convoy in the Kharkiv region, monstrous murders of civilians in other Ukrainian cities by neo-Nazi mobs, brutal murder of Russian journalist Darya Dugina, Ukraine’s terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, as well as many other horrific crimes by the Kyiv regime,” said the embassy.

  7. Hi, Tanna. Since Peloni gives you high grades for explaining things, I suppose I ought to at least comment.

you come across on Ukraine’s side

Definitely not. First of all, I have no interest in this war, except to stay out of it. Secondly, The winning “side” consists of Biden, Zelenskyy, Putin, Xi and others. All of the above profit immensely from the war, and all of them have it withing their power to control it to some degree. All of them also have an incredibly good motive to keep the fires burning, as they are all in deep political doo-doo once their citizens’ eyes are no longer focused on it.

Having said that, how can I comment on the rest of what you said?

    “buddies… ball game…”

No game. Biden, Xi, Putin et al are destroying the world, destroying my grandchildrens’ future

We can do nothing to stop it or slow down the evil unless it comes to our door.

I don’t know where your door is, but whenever I open mine, I see goons and devils all over the place: people afraid to speak their minds; people afraid of plagues that don’t exist; people completely deranged by deliberate design; homeless people’s tents, cardboard shelters and shopping carts with all their possessions on every street, thieves, drug pushers, people struggling just to keep from killing themselves with drugs… the list goes on. It’s all right in my face, and I certainly CAN do something about it, and I do.

Enough of this, Tanna. Thanks for writing. If you are in the US and want to change things, I have only two suggestions:

    1. Accept that Jesus is the Messiah, and become his disciple. That’s the ON/OFF switch to getting any power to your “change machine”. There are certainly plenty of folks here who would take issue with this. That’s their problem, not mine.

    2. Become a precinct committeeperson in the party of your choice. That’s where the real power is in politics.

BTW, Putin is one evil bugger. I won’t even try to rank him with the others. I think God has already rated him, and his score is -zero-. Unless he repents, he’s just another coal for the Lake of Fire.

  8. Michael,

from my reading of your post, you come across on Ukraine’s side and Yes, I would line up more behind Peloni and Mr. Ted.

We all here are like buddies discussing the weekend ballgame. No amount of talking, arguing or discussing the game will make one iota of difference in the game played yesterday. Also, none of us will have one iota of input into the game that will be played tomorrow.

However, we all do this and enjoy and learn a lot form the process. Who can add an inch to his height or cause his hair to grow? Not a one of us! It’s all Hashems working. Just as Job argued. Do we changed the mind of God? I think not! Although I do think there are things written into our life story and by our decisions we can change the outcome, but not stop bad things from happening.

So……. How do we deal with this? The world is changing, there will both good and evil comes out of this process. I believe each of us have to see, understand and make our best choice for our own personal life’s.

When one looks at the crime playing out on the streets of America, we see what is going on and take the necessary adjustments to our daily life’s. We can do nothing to stop it or slow down the evil unless it comes to our door. Then we do with it as we deal with it. Again, God is in control of it all……… But here is the point….. You embrace evil or unrighteousness or you fight against it at whatever level you can and if not then as one Rabbi said, If yur not for me, you’re against me! And it all starts in the mind. Choose this day whom you will serve.

Don’t say what Putin did was evil. You can’t judge his heart. What we do know is that he pleaded with the WEST and NATO to stop their advancement for the last 20 years.

The Talmud teaches that if you see someone coming to destroy(kill) you, destroy(kill) them first. Wise advice from the sages.

The American government is corrupt. They do what God wants them to do…… righteous and unrighteous acts. But you and I brother must make a choice in our mind which team were pulling for. The chances of this urkane russia fight, will most like never directly affect you or me.

  9. Peloni,

Are these Ukrainian govt officials also Russian schills?

You’ve got “shills” up the wazoo! Tell me, who were the shills in the Civil War?

    https://imgs.search.brave.com/0rnCuL99YJL9gp-An_eAvWX5Qs1awazhK8lXMcPTikU/rs:fit:1200:863:1/g:ce/aHR0cHM6Ly9mYW1v/dXMtdHJpYWxzLmNv/bS9pbWFnZXMvZnRy/aWFscy9BbmRlcnNv/bnZpbGxlL3N1cnZp/dm9yc3JldHVybmVk/LmpwZw

Who started it? Who cares? We have no business in this war; and all the cheerleading you and Ted are doing for the Russians will not save one person from the misery Biden, and Putin, unleashed — with many helpers.

What are you two going to argue now? That the US Civil War doesn’t compare to Ukraine? When the current war is over, the survivors will look the same as those poor fellows at Andersonville, and the same as my cousins in Europe after WWII. Dead and hungry people all look pretty much the same.

  10. Here is the high price of the Ukraine offensive which the Ukrainian public will have to pay, as described by the Ukrainian govt officials:
‘We’re hunting them down and shooting them like pigs’: How the Ukrainians are taking brutal revenge on the collaborators who’ve betrayed their neighbours – and country – to the Russians

Kyiv has already opened investigations into 1,309 suspected traitors and launched 450 prosecutions of collaborators accused of betraying their own nation and neighbours. Others are being tracked down and slaughtered by resistance fighters. A list passed to this newspaper by a Kyiv government source identifies 29 such retribution killings, with 13 more assassination attempts that left some targets wounded. ‘A hunt has been declared on collaborators and their life is not protected by law,’ said Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the interior ministry. ‘Our intelligence services are eliminating them, shooting them like pigs.’ Recent fatalities include Ivan Sushko, a wedding toastmaster appointed mayor of a town in the Zaporizhzhia region, who died in August after his car was blown up. ‘A hunt has been declared on collaborators and their life is not protected by law,’ said Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the interior ministry. ‘Our intelligence services are eliminating them, shooting them like pigs.’ Those who helped the Russians face long terms of imprisonment or possibly death after Moscow said they could not escape east and away from the advancing Ukrainian army.

From Daily Mail…Are these Ukrainian govt officials also Russian schills? I know they are obviously war criminals, but are they also Russian schills?

  11. @Michael An interesting paralel with Ukraine. The Vietnamese were colonialists, too.

    Repression of Chams
    Edit
The Cham in Vietnam are only recognized as a minority, and not as an indigenous people by the Vietnamese government despite being indigenous to the region. Both Hindu and Muslim Chams have experienced religious and ethnic persecution and restrictions on their faith under the current Vietnamese government, with the Vietnamese state confiscating Cham property and forbidding Cham from observing their religious beliefs. Hindu temples were turned into tourist sites against the wishes of the Cham Hindus. In 2010 and 2013, several incidents occurred in the villages of Thành Tín and Ph??c Nh?n, where Cham were murdered by Vietnamese. Cham Muslims in the Mekong Delta have also been economically marginalized and pushed into poverty by Vietnamese government policies, with ethnic Vietnamese Kinh settling on majority Cham lands with state support, and the religious practices of minorities have been targeted for elimination by the Vietnamese government.[21]

In 2012, Vietnamese police in Chau Giang village stormed into a Cham Mosque, stole the electric generator, and also raped Cham girls.[22]

The Vietnamese government fears that evidence of Champa’s influence over the disputed area in the South China Sea would bring attention to human rights violations and killings of ethnic minorities in Vietnam such as those which were committed in the 2001 and 2004 uprisings, and lead to the issue of Cham autonomy being brought into the dispute, since the Vietnamese conquered Cham people in a war in 1832, as well as the Vietnamese continuing to destroy evidence of Cham culture and artifacts left behind, plundering or building on top of Cham temples, building farms over them, banning Cham religious practices, and omitting references to the destroyed Cham capital of Song Luy in the 1832 invasion in history books and tourist guides. The situation of the Cham compared to that of ethnic Vietnamese is substandard, with the Cham lacking water and electricity and living in houses made out of mud.[23]

  12. @Michael Though actually history doesn’t repeat itself.

“The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living. And just as they seem to be occupied with revolutionizing themselves and things, creating something that did not exist before, precisely in such epochs of revolutionary crisis they anxiously conjure up the spirits of the past to their service, borrowing from them names, battle slogans, and costumes in order to present this new scene in world history in time-honored disguise and borrowed language.”
? Karl Marx, The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte

  13. @Michael Or, it could wind up as just the latest round like Azerbaijan versus Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh.

  14. @Michael Perhaps, but if so, Afghanistan would be closer to home. Reagan subsidized the Taliban and Bin Laden to catch the Soviets in a quagmire like Vietnam which, alomg with the attendant arms race, hastened the fall of the Soviet Union.

  15. These are ridiculous, irrelevant arguments. Point by point,

    1. This is NOT WWII. A zealous, patriotic Russia is NOT fighting a hated, invading Nazi Germany. The “patriots” are the Ukrainians, defending their own homeland.

    2. A far better comparison is with the Vietnam War, where a super-powerful US was fighting a small but determined patriotic Vietnam.

    3. In the Tet Offensive, the Viet Cong and Viet Minh forces suffered ENORMOUS losses in men and materiel vs. the US; but the battle turned the war to their advantage, and they ultimately won.

“The New Atlas” is yet another Russian shill.
