I told Ari Briggs how glad I am that they are doing it. I also told him that every time I talk about EU criticism of Israel’s actions in Area C as being contrary to Oslo, I always draw attention to the fact that the EU is violating Oslo because they are financially backing Arab attempts to encroach upon Area C. Regavim, the research based legal think tank has announced its intention to release a report presenting tens of cases in which the European Union have actively changed the facts on the ground in Area C to unilaterally harm Israel in final status talks with the Palestinians.
In addition, following reports that the European Union has begun a new wave of diplomatic pressure against the Jewish State. The organization sent an official letter outlining some of their findings to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister today, with a call to stand strong against EU pressure.
Commenting on the upcoming report, Ari Briggs, International Director of Regavim stated: “Once upon a time, the EU would pressure Israel by funding hostile NGOs, now it has cut out the middle man and is actively engaging in settlement activity on behalf of the Palestinians. In the coming weeks we will present evidence of over 90 structures that have been built by the EU in contradiction with the Oslo accords and all international agreements. We have highlighted this to our government and call upon the EU to stop this blatant violation of Israeli sovereignty immediately.”
Regavim, a research think-tank and advocacy organization, is dedicated to ensuring responsible, legal and accountable use of Israel’s national land. By investigating building claims on the ground level, Regavim protects national land interests. 90 constructions with the authorization of IL gvt? So IL may do the same. That is fair practice. At the end, the EU is out of the EU and the Pal will have to decide for themselves. Stay as peaceful residents or move out. It is the land of the JEWS. For > 35 hundred years.
Give to Caesar what is to Caesar and to the Jews what is theirs.
There’s really nothing new in their report. The Israeli government has been ignoring violations of the Oslo accords by the arabs and the quartet for years. Netanyahu tried to insist on “reciprocity” twenty years ago. Where did that get him?
The only thing that the international community understands is that Israel is always wrong.
