On Sunday, a massive explosion rocked the Cairo neighborhood of Abbasyia. The 12-kilogram (26-pound) bomb, which was detonated remotely, had been placed near the women’s entrance to the city’s main Coptic Christian Church, St. Mark’s Cathedral, meaning that most of the victims were women and children, who were attending church as they did every Sunday.
The bombing, which was part of a series of terrorist attacks by the Muslim Brotherhood against Copts in Egypt, killed at least 25 people and wounded about 50. Attacks on Copts have recently escalated because the Muslim Brotherhood claims they supported President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi in taking power and ousting President Mohammed Morsi (of the Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party) in a military putsch.
As expected, Copts are now demonstrating en masse, demanding that Muslim Brotherhood members be put to death. Of course, Brotherhood spokesman Dr. Talaat Fahmi denied that his group had anything to do with the bombing, and blamed the el-Sissi regime members for being the ones who “intentionally harm the national fabric of Egypt, including both Christians and Muslims.”
Al Jazeera sold its viewers the bill of goods that the mass demonstrations “are directed at the president and the Egyptian Interior Ministry.” The network consistently incites against el-Sissi in the hope (shared by Turkey) of a revolution that will put Morsi back in power. Al Jazeera is the one reporting, in the service of Qatar, that el-Sissi supports Syrian President Bashar Assad against Arabs and that an Egyptian combat engineering battalion is working for the Assad regime, dismantling land mines.
Every Egyptian knows that the aim of the current Egyptian government is to create stability, eliminate Islamist terrorism, reduce unemployment, increase the country’s GDP and improve citizens’ sense of security and well-being — not to attack the Copts. The Muslim Brotherhood’s absurd accusations come after a series of terrorist attacks by the Brotherhood against Copts and a number of Egyptian security, economic, and social interests: blowing up gas lines in Sinai, violent demonstrations, assassinations of government officials, terrorist attacks at tourism sites and at military targets in Egypt and in Sinai, all intended to bring down the country from within.
Hamas, the monstrous son of the Muslim Brotherhood, was actually quick to condemn Saturday’s bombings in Istanbul which it said had been “set off against those who care for the oppressed [Hamas].”
Indeed, these are dark days for Muslim Brotherhood-style Sunni terrorists: they are being increasingly crushed in the Middle East, facing growing alienation in Europe, meeting with silence from Arab states, and expecting a turn for the worse under the policies of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, compared to those of President Barack Obama. They no longer let the Christians “off easy” (since, according to “The Table” chapter of the Quran, verse 51, Christians are allies of the Jews). Therefore, like Islamic State attacks, attacks on Christians create chaos in Egypt and a threat to the West.
On Saturday evening, before the bombing at the cathedral, Egyptian politics saw a first when 160 intellectuals published the “Egyptian Charter of National Honor,” which was titled “Stop the Rhetoric of Hatred, Incitement, Calls to Violence, Humiliation, and Accusations of Treason (Among the Egyptian People).”
The charter, which includes moral and pluralistic principles of “normalcy” in Egypt’s internal political dialogue, came out last Saturday evening in response to the events of July 2013, when Morsi was ousted. Its authors are notable figures in Egyptian public circles and represent left-wing, liberal, and Islamist political parties. It is an apolitical call for help in light of the dangerous internal dispute in Egyptian society.
The signatories to the charter, which was also signed by Muslim Brotherhood Secretary General Mahmoud Hussein and Brotherhood council member Hammam Ali Youssef, called to establish an ethical monitoring committee that would be elected annually and track the implementation of pluralistic values in the public sphere and in the Egyptian media, and would be the basis for unity and arbitration of grievances.
The timing of the attack was no coincidence. The bombing at the Coptic cathedral made it clear that the signatures of two Islamists a day earlier on a document of “national honor” was lacking in honor and intended to mislead and allow them to spy on the other signatories. Seeking to regain control of Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is preventing any hint of normalization. The bombing at the Coptic cathedral was intended to destabilize and shake up Egyptian internal security, as well as the international standing of the el-Sissi regime.
Simply put, it needs to be whatever it has to be to get whatever needs to be done past the liberal courts. That’s why water-boarding isn’t torture. It’s enhanced interrogation. Ha ha. Orwellianism can be a two-edged sword.
The SuShi Islamofascists must be destroyed soon or later. They are a danger to society!
I can think of no positive behavior connected with Islam and the only positive behavior of individual muslims is demonstrative of their distance from Islam. I have never witnessed a more evil force on the earth, other than the nazis, so obssessed with disgusting evil behaviors: violence, intolerance, terror slaughter, head chopping, honor killing, pedophilia, slavery, human traficking, degradation of women,… the list goes on and on,…. one can almost guarantee that if a despicable and disgusting behavior exists in this world that we will see muslims carrying its banner. It is no wonder they appeal to jailbirds and the lowest instincts of men….. they are like a violent steet gang offering loyalty for fealty. I want none of them around in the same way I want no nazis around me… today nazis are a minor threat but muslims are a major global threat.
Meanwhile the world slumbers on in a suicidal tragicomedy of lunatic denial. 🙁
NO, its not a religious war because that implies a war between 2 protagoniasts. It is an Islamic Muslim War on the infidels, ALL infidels. Its a muslim massacre, a muslim slaughter, a muslim bloodfest conducted by the most violently despicable idological creed on the planet.
This muslim slaughter of the Copts is the same war as the muslim slaughter of Hindus, Christians and Jews….. and any other infidel creed. it is not an isolated Egyptian event…. the main driving motivating force is not Egyptian, not arab…. it is muslim AND it is global. The muslims are waging a global war of domination and slaughter throughout the globe while their victims engage in semantics. Islam should be banned, sanctioned, cut off from the civilized world.
