Shurat HaDin: Government Abandoning Terror Victims

Organization for justice expresses outrage at PM’s decision to block witness testimony in terror involvement case against Bank of China.

By Tova Dvorin, INN

Attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the founder of Shurat HaDin (Israeli Law Center), responded with anger and outrage at Prime MinisterBinyamin Netanyahu’s decisionSunday to acquiesce to international pressure and prevent a key witness from giving testimony in a landmark case against the Bank of China.

Twenty-two families of victims killed in Palestinian Arab suicide bombings accuse the bank of participating in terror activities by handling the bank accounts used to fund the attacks.

“Israel has violated a direct promise that was made to me on behalf of the 22 bereaved families, that the government would give any and all evidence possible proving the Bank of China’s role in the attacks,” Darshan-Leitner stated. “The fact is that, once again, Israel is abandoning terror victims and their families.”

“The first time, they failed to protect them,” she continued, referring to Israel’s release of convicted terrorists as a precondition of negotiations with the Palestinian Authority. “The second time, they surrendered to economic interests over the rights of the bereaved families. We never expected such a response from the Prime Minister, who has been especially vigilant about publicly fighting terrorism.”

Darshan-Leitner added, “Israel cannot claim that the testimony of Uzi [Shaya] is a risk to Israel’s national security, because all of the information has already been published and has also been used in Israeli courts of law.” Uzi Shaya is the key witness in the case; he is a counter-terrorism expert who knew about China’s involvement in the attacks and sought to warn Israeli and Chinese officials before more damage could be done.

“Preventing Shaya’s testimony gives the Bank of China immunity and absolves them of the responsibilities of financing terrorism,” she laments. “This is the hardest message we could have received from the Prime Minister of Israel.”

Realy BR we are talking about a critically ill infant.

No, you are talking about an infant, I am taking about dead jews and hamas jew killers. You see the child whereas I see the jew killers. You may see it your way but I will see it my way. G_D has already decided the outcome for the child.

  2. honeybee Said:

Realy BR we are talking about a critically ill infant.

No, you are talking about an infant, I am takiong about dead jews and hamas jew killers. You see the child whereas I see the jew killers. You may see it your way but I will see it my way.

  3. honeybee Said:

Yidvocate brought Hitler into the conversation as a “red herring”.

not a red herring. you refer to the child as separate from its context as the hamas spawn: that is a red herring; as if the fact that the child would grow up in a hitler youth camp to libel and kill Jews meant nothing, was irrelevant. The child does not exist in a vacuum, the child has a high possiblity of going to hamas summer jew killing camp in a couple of years. think of “the omen”

  4. dove Said:

    I knew a man

We were speaking of a criticaly ill infant. Yidvocate brought Hitler into the conversation as a “red herring”.

  5. @ honeybee:

If I had taken in Hitler,as a child, perhaps it would have changed history

Possibly…but we do not have the power to change people. If you had raised Hitler you may have been able to prevent him from getting enough power to destroy.

I knew a man – a Hitler admirer who thought I could help him achieve his goal…FAT CHANCE OF THAT. When he was on his death bed he and his family wanted me to visit. He somehow believed that I could help him escape death – and his family thought so too. I did not go. He died. I had to end up reporting his family to the authorities for the threats I received from them.

I believe that Hashem did not want me to go and I am glad I didn’t.

  6. honeybee Said:

But, the child[ for now] is an innocent, until otherwise proven

as i said: reality indicates that the child growing up in the hamas hitler youth culture has a better than 50% chance of libeling and killing Jews.
    honeybee Said:

Where does it say Jewish children were denied care?

Obviously in limited resource situations someone moves back when someone jumps the line. It should be enough to know that the same day hamas promised tunnels to “enter Israeli homes and schools”. Why would they mention SCHOOLS?
Your thoughts are kind but in my view, for Israel they have proven detrimental
Within a couple of years the spawn would be at a hamas summer camp shouting death to the jews: that is reality.
G_D decided otherwise in spite of the Jews “kindness”.

  7. honeybee Said:

Are you sayinng Israelis do not treat their ill, and injured in favor treating Pals.

I used that phrase to demonstrate that when performing these actions the dead and wounded jews should be considered rather than just nice hopey changey stuff. The arabs have not responded to kindness in the way you expect, they consider it weakness and a demonstration of their strength. therefore, by performing such acts of kindness one ignores the acts of mercilessness which can breed a fear that ends the deaths of jews. The merciless american acts of killing and crippling tens of thousands in two atomic bombs lowered american deaths and created an american ally born first on fear so as to be clear on the results of aggression. The arabs no longer have that fear of Israel: the predictable and kind Israel. Israels kindness has facilitated arab terrorism.
Also, I have never seen a hospital that was not short of resources and where one has to make appointments if not an emergency. Why give those resources to the spawn of jew killers? You like to separate the child from the parents, the culture and the collective but that separation is not real; it is an idealistic view divorced from reality.

  8. honeybee Said:

The converse is just as true.

What is the converse, that by taking them in you might change them for the better? I would wager that in the hamas culture of gaza, voted in by the gazans, there is a better than 50% chance that the spawn of the head of hamas would grow up to be a libeler and killer of Jews. That is the reality, its not a hopey changey issue. I read of someone who treated a gazan who boasted that everything belonged to them and when told of it being Israel he said its the same because the jews are the muslim Dhimmis. You are projcting your values and culture on others when the evidence shows you are wrong: Two hundred pal children treated a year and yet they still find the logic to slaughter jewish children; the suicide bomber who was prior treated and returned to bomb the hospital. Americcans have a provincial cultural centrism beleiving that everyone is basically just like them and if only you would do whatever they ewill change. this drives US foreign policy which continually fails.

  10. @ honeybee:

I have adressed the Almigthy on this issue, I was told to consult the conscience that I have been given.

Then you must be delusional because had the Almighty truly responded to you He would have surely told you to consult his Torah and learned rabbis and certainly not your conscience which, like everyone else’s conscience is prone to err and influence by the yetzer horah.

  13. XLucid Said:

If some have an objection to that, then any motion for appeal this commandment should be addressed to G-d directly.

  14. Just on Monday a top Hamas spokesman threatened Israel, saying “we will enter your homes, your schools, your positions and your strongholds.”
    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/174213#.Uou138SThew

    the same day:

On Monday, one year old Amal Haniyeh crossed into Israel for treatment on a serious digestive tract infection.

    perhaps there is no war?

The World Health Organization notes that every year thousands of Gazans receive medical treatment in Israel.

What about the dead and wounded Jews?

  15. The children of Amalek are no less than future potential Jew killers.

To the extent that the commandment to wipe them out is not applied today, therefore, at least we should not save their children.

If some have an objection to that, then any motion for appeal this commandment should be addressed to G-d directly.

  16. honeybee Said:

If I had taken in Hitler,as a child, perhaps it would have changed history.

    this is an intellectual exercise: What if it would not have changed history, would you take the responsibility knowing that your action can lead to the deaths of many Jews? Acts of omission are as criminal as acts of commission. Allowing jew killers to live is a criminal act; allowing gazans to escape the results of their terror support is a criminal act;
It is absurd to send soldiers to die at the hands of hamas and then treat their spawn. Those who make such decisions should send their sons instead.

  17. 1Laura Said:

I do have a problem with Israel releasing mass murderers from its prisons.

Thank you. Mass murderers should be punished for their actions. A child’s future can be shaped. To reject a child is to deny hope.

  18. honeybee Said:

You all can argue, but I will not change my mine, I will never turn a child, any child away from my door.

no one is seeking to change you or your mind, its not about you, or me.; Israel does what it does and terror victims suffer the consequences because of the continuing charades played by Israel and jew killers. The arabs intentionally kill jewish babies because “they will grow up to join the IDF”. It is absurd that they then send their children to the Jews for healing. If you send your child, the next day there must be a change. If not, the jews must learn their perpetual lesson. did they change today? This was not the child of an inocent, it was the child of a Jew Killer. what did the jews do with this event: nothing! Perhaps it is the parents of Sderot who should be consulted on such matters. Dont you see how absurd it has become and that this absurdity is facilitated by Israel continuing to participate in this absurd charade. The doctors time and bed space probably sent a jewish child to the back of the line so Israel could be part of a PR event showing that the Jews can turn the other cheek. Thought, energy and time spent on the concerns, plights, suffering of the arabs is what has distracted the jews from their own suffering at the hands of their detractors. There is not unlimited bed space, doctors, time, etc. All this is done for them and their jew killing terrorists relaeased by those whose interest is only is pleasing others.

  19. Kind to the cruel and you’ll end up being cruel to the kind.

This is an infant. I don’t take issue with Israel treating this baby. I do have a problem with Israel releasing mass murderers from its prisons.

  20. @ honeybee:

Even if that child was sweet little baby Adolf who would later starve your baby cousins to death thanks to your nurturing?

Kind to the cruel and you’ll end up being cruel to the kind.

  21. yamit82 Said:

Save an Arab child today and pay the price when he grows up to be a Murderer of Jews

According to family history compiled by a cousin of mine,we had two relatives who were babies when the nazis march into Lodzt. They starved to death at age 2yr and 18mo. In their memory I will not turn a child away.
Because of several experiences during my own childhood, I understand how fearful it is to be injured and alone. You all can argue, but I will not change my mine, I will never turn a child, any child away from my door.

  22. Back to the topic of Netanyahu, he has proven to the world that Jews value money over justice. He has become the perfect stereotype that will cause more anti-Semitism than we have encountered for years. He will cause us to appear as Fagins, Shylocks and bloodthirsty vampires. Good luck to all of us.

  23. @ bernard ross:

Sadly I agree. Real Jewish leadership would never have allowed us to be put in this position. The great sin of the past and current menagerie calling themselves leaders is they are infested with the FEAR of what the Goyim will say…..Fear of Man and not G-d was the sin of the spies that ended up with Jews wondering in the desert for 40 years. Fear is infectious and demoralizing. 🙁

  24. honeybee Said:

I could not turn a child away for any reason,to be a child, sick and afraid is a terrible thing.

Perhaps if your children were being threatened as Sderot you might be less merciful. For my child I would destroy to cinders entire arab cities.

  25. yamit82 Said:

the ancient Judaic adage that: “He who is merciful unto the Cruel will eventually be cruel unto the Merciful” (Ecclesiastes Rabbah 7:16).

Tommorrow haniyeh will continue to plan the throat slitting of Jewish babies. It is my view that Gaza has received mercy for far too long. If
gaza had received the appropriate punishments in the past they would be far too frightened to consider digging tunnels to be able to come “to jewish homes and schools”. In my view the very thought and utterance of such a desire should bring forth an immediate destruction of many of gaza’s “homes and schools” so that they may carefully think about keeping their thoughts silent. Israel’s years of mercy have brought cruelty to babies such as the Fogels. The adage has been proved already in recent decades. Many jewish lives would have been saved if they had feared the cruelty of Israel. Thoughts must consider the Jews not the cruel enemies.

“Rejoice not at thine enemy’s fall – but don’t rush to pick him up either.”
    Jewish Proverb

“Don’t live in a town where there are no doctors.”
    Jewish Proverb

Our Sages long ago referred to as the “Mercy of Fools”, as represented by the ancient Judaic adage that: “He who is merciful unto the Cruel will eventually be cruel unto the Merciful” (Ecclesiastes Rabbah 7:16).

According to G-d’s Moral Code, traits and situations such as Kindness, Cruelty, Mercy, Hardship, Love, Hatred, Forgiveness, Revenge, Peace and War are, in themselves, neither Good nor Evil but, instead, Neutral. It is only the specific circumstances in which, and the particular motivation with which, a particular trait is exhibited or a particular situation is initiated that determines whether such a trait or situation is Good, thereby creating a Kiddush HaShem (Sanctification of G-d’s Name), or Evil, thereby creating a Chillul HaShem (Desecration of G-d’s Name).

“You shall love your fellow as yourself — I am HaShem.” (Lev. 19:16-18), meaning that a Jew, especially a leader of the Jewish people, is obligated to fearlessly and tenaciously act to protect his fellow Jew’s life to the same extent that he would so act to protect his own life.

Lastly, the famous commentary of Bonastruc ça Porta, better known to the Jewish World as Ramban (Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman, also known as Nachmanides, b. 1194 – d. 1270) on Deut. 7:16 that: “Through the Mercy of Fools all Justice is lost.”

Save an Arab child today and pay the price when he grows up to be a Murderer of Jews…. Maybe even Me!!! G-d may not be merciful as we tend to understand the term be he is always correct.

  27. honeybee Said:

The Almighty sees all and doesn’t need facebook to remind Him!!!!

Its not about facebook, its about those people who daily are digging tunnels so they can, as they say “come into the homes and the schools” of Israel. While they plan and scheme to creep in the night and slit jewish babies throats, fool jews try to save their spawn who will grow upt to kill more jews. The child would have been brought up to libel and kill jews had the child been saved by the Jews. Apparently G_D decided otherwise.

  28. bernard ross Said:

Their first move was to remove the trace of their asking from their facebook page.

The Almighty sees all and doesn’t need facebook to remind Him!!!! You do a mitzvah for the Glory of the Almighty, all children are children of G-d.

  29. honeybee Said:

Is this not a mitzvah that will some day bring blessings.

    NO!
Their first move was to remove the trace of their asking from their facebook page. By this action Israel partook in the continuing proliferation of libels against the jews. Israel reinforced the hamas narratives and libels by acceding to their charade. There was probably a jewish child waiting for the bed that was given to the hamas spawn.

  31. Benjamin netanyahu keeps proving that he is a man without honor, not to be trusted, low moral fiber, whose word is like shit, there is nothing he sould say which can be beleived… Such a leader can only bring damage to israel. Who is the one who keeps defending him here? One more of a series of corrupt israeli leaders. Once more he sells out victims of jewish terrorism for nothing in return. Would he sell his own mother, is he the sterotypical jew? Shurat ha din and Leitner are light years ahead of the low life.

  32. I wonder if BB is not on the take? Hard to believe even He is so vacuous. I have never seen BB in all the years he has been in politics ever standing up to power, threats and blackmail internally and externally. Even the worst of those in opposition would be better for us than BB.

He has put everyone of us in mortal peril by his treason and cowardliness. Somehow he has to be removed and taken down.
