T. Belman. Unfortunately he doesn’t mention how the US pushed Russia to the brink in the twenty years proceeding. Nor does he mention the the US could have avoided this war by not causing the Maidan Coup etc.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told Newsmax Friday that President Joe Biden is a “feckless” commander in chief who is a “major cause” of the war in Ukraine.
“When it comes to foreign policy, [President] Joe Biden has managed, for over two years now, to get everything exactly backwards,” Cruz said during an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Chris Salcedo Show.” “He has managed to alienate and abandon our friends and allies and, simultaneously, to show weakness and to show appeasement to our enemies.”
“Look at Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, his surrender to the Taliban,” he continued. “When that happened, every enemy of America looked to Washington, looked to the Oval Office. They took a measure of the man, and they concluded the commander in chief was weak and feckless and ineffective. That was a major cause of the war in Ukraine.”
Cruz added that when Biden began his term in office, he waived sanctions that were put in place on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline by former President Donald Trump, which allowed Russia’s state-owned gas company, Gazprom, to finish the project.
The undersea pipeline allows Russia to export natural gas to Europe and circumvent Ukraine.
“If Biden had just found the guts to stand up to Russia, to stand up to Putin, at the outset, we wouldn’t have this war,” Cruz said.
The Texas Republican also said that the Biden administration is playing both sides of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which marked its first anniversary on Friday.
“There’s an incoherence in how Biden is approaching it because the Biden administration is literally funding both sides of this war,” Cruz said.
“Biden is obviously sending billions of dollars to Zelenskyy in Ukraine, but he’s also refusing to enforce sanctions against Iran,” he continued. “He’s allowing the ayatollah to sell a million barrels a day of oil and that revenue is going to Iranian drones that the Russians are using to kill Ukrainians. So, both sides are being funded by Biden — it makes no sense.”
So the Feckless Cruz is calling out the Feckless Biden? Well, he isn’t wrong, but he also isn’t quite clear as to when he decided against a policy which he, himself, advocated in the early hours of the US installed Nazi/Nationalist/Monist regime:
U.S. Senator Ted Cruz: ‘America Stands With Ukraine
For context, this interview is dated from May 28, 2014. This was made 4 months after the leak exposing Victoria Nuland and Biden behind a coming coup, 3 months after the coup took place, 26 days after the Odessa Massacre which was intended to silence any protest against the American coup, 24 days after the formation of Azov which was to fight the war in defense of the American coup, and three days after the Ukrainian elections which restricted participation of millions of ethnic Russians and was employed to make the American coup irreversible. This video with Cruz was made during a fact finding trip to Ukraine, so none of these details could have possibly been unknown to him. Also, recall that the trip was made in the lead up to Cruz’ run for president, and was widely reported as such. Hence, he would hardly have been kept from being briefed on all of this, and was no doubt well aware of all of it before taking this trip, in which he simply signaled his willing cooperation to maintain the policy already established by the Maidan Massacre.
Indeed, in this video Cruz, himself, 9yrs ago, actually calls for the arming of Ukraine as well as the installation of missile batteries inside Ukraine, all in defense of the
Consequently, it does seem that many facts evaded Cruz during this fact finding trip, making his protestations against the current policy, well, the word feckless seems to fit quite well. In fairness, Cruz, having now come full circle, should explain his change of heart, his come to rationality moment, as it were, or suffer our scorn for him thinking us to be too forgetful of his past protestations advocating to do exactly what Biden is doing currently, had he become president instead of Trump.
