On December 9th, US warns Russia is giving Iran ‘unprecedented military and technical support’.
That article was sub-titled “White House says Moscow moving toward full defense ‘partnership’ with Tehran, including air defense systems and fighter jets, in exchange for drones supplied for Ukraine war”
“In return, Russia is offering military and technical support to the Iranian regime, which will increase the risk it poses to our partners in the Middle East and to international security.”
But was it true or propaganda?
On Dec 11, Seth Frantzman wrote, “As Iran-Russia alliance grows, Tehran becomes bigger danger to Middle East – analysis” but offered no evidence other than the statements by US national security council spokesman John Kirby. on Dec 9th.
Many other articles were published which relied on Kirby’s accusations only.
On Nov 5/22, The Guradian reported,
The Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said a “small number” of drones were supplied to Russia a few months before Moscow’s forces invaded Ukraine on 24 February. He denied Tehran that was continuing to supply drones to Moscow.
Today, Russian envoy: Claims of our ties with Iran are a ‘fairytale’
Dmitry Polyanskiy, Russia’s first deputy representative to the United Nations, spoke with i24NEWS on Tuesday and commented on the UN calls to investigate Moscow’s war crimes in Ukraine.
“Not everything that has the names ‘international’ and ‘justice’ has anything to do with justice,” Polyanskiy said, charging that there is a “double standard” regarding Russia, as Western countries ignored what he called the “crimes committed by the Kyiv regime during the eight years of unjustified war in Donbas.”
“We repeatedly denied our use of Iranian drones. I think that our military-industrial complex is capable of producing enough weaponry for us, and we don’t need to use anybody else’s weaponry,”
Russia has in no way done anything that would support the reality of the alleged new relationship. Its deconfliction agreement is still in place. As late as a week ago, Russia asked Israel “not to hold up transfer of equipment from Syria to Ukraine“
Finally Russia and Saudi Arabia are collaborating on oil supplies and and de-dollarization. No way Russia will alienate Saudi Arabia who considers Iran an enemy.
@Peloni Yes, I read all the articles. The one I posted is no worse than denials from the Russian government and the Guardian. The Russians have been involved with the Iranian nuke program for quite a while. But they say I shouldn’t believe my lying eyes, they would never do such a thing. Let’s wait and see.
@ketzel2
Did you read the article? It is complete conjecture, not even based on “sources say” but rather stating that “It is highly possible that …”
I saw this story at Citizen Free Press, a conservative news aggregator, many of whose commenters are Putin fanboys, and yet they link to this story about Russia aiding Iran’s nuke program:
https://lansinginstitute.org/2022/12/13/rosatom-violates-non-proliferation-treaty-in-iran/
Also, I had a related meta insight about something people forget about Russia and Ukraine. IMO, neither is the good guy in that conflict, but an important fact is that Russia is a level up from Ukraine, i.e. Russia has always been a player, while Ukraine is more of an emerging colony. So to paint Ukraine like it originated anything would be like claiming people in Tahiti are attacking France. Even if Tahitians attacked France, there is context. So the Russia vs. Ukraine thing can never be discussed as a fight between equals.
I’ve noticed that the subtext of so much support for Russia is based on the conservative delusion that Russia is a country of family values. That’s Vlad’s propaganda. In reality, Russia has as many abortions, as much alcoholism, prostitution, human trafficking, etc. as the West. As usual, Vlad rides on the white horse of family values and laughs at you.
I read it, I knew most of these things, and I don’t think Russia has changed. In fact, as I read the details of America’s perfidy toward its allies, it reminded me that this has been caused in part by Communist subversion of the US government, i.e., the movie shows us stabbing allies in the back, but who directed the movie? The same commies who are subverting the USA and Israel. Don’t tell me Vlad isn’t a commie. Regardless of how capitalist Russia and China may appear, they’re commies when they control people and infiltrate foreign governments. So Vlad is nervous about how his own tactics have succeeded in rotting our government? He’s not nervous, he’s laughing.
So the problem here is that we are looking at results and not causes. Jews should never forget what history shows us about new friends. It’s mostly a plot like Lucy moving the football when Charlie Brown tries to kick it. If Israel and Russia bake some cookies together, that’s great, but we all know the later batches of cookies will be poisoned. Ditto for Arabs, blacks and everyone else we wish we could share a kitchen with. My suggestion: focus on winning back some of our own people. Why try to turn the Russians pro-Israel, we would do better to turn Jews pro-Israel.
Thank you, Peloni.

Is something wrong with the link? I get an error message.
I’ll go and read the happy story, but IMO a real indicator will be when Russia Today stops being an antisemitic hate site. Also, the carrot of reconciliation has been dangled before. I remember an especially nauseating, smarmy comment by our new best friend Putin, when he was discussing the usual threat of Russian nastiness against Israel, St. Vlad replied, there are x number of Russians living in Israel, we wouldn’t do anything against them (I can’t quote from memory, but that was the gist) and to me it was barfworthy, because why did so many Russian Jews leave Russia if not for Russian antisemitism. St. Vlad is a slimy hypocrite, and if he converted to Judaism and moved to Jerusalem, I’d think it was a plot. I hope I’m wrong, but common sense says I’m right. Okay, I will go read the happy story now.
RUSSIA AND THE NEW ME -Part IV: Can Russia be induced to use its UN veto to protect Israel
Why should any Jew whitewash Russia? Are they our friend now? Who supplied Iran with advanced weapons systems, knowing they were to be used against Israel? Who invented the Palestinian people and trained Palestinian intellectuals and terrorists? When did Russia change and become our new best friend? I seem to have missed that.
