Robert Spencer on Politically Perfect on moderate Muslims, Muslim friends, boycotts, and more

T. Belman. When Spencer was asked what to do about Muslim friends who attack you, his only response was to “be alert, aware and careful”. That doesn’t work for me.

Otherwise he was right on the money. He should be listened to. The best thing the US, Israel and other countries can do is to enforce the law but they don’t.

  1. @Michael

    If a terrorist were to confront us, we are more likely to overcome him with our words than with any weapon;

Got any examples of that working? On the other hand, there have been recent examples of violent criminals being stopped by citizens with weapons.

  2. Ted, you said,

This is one of the rare times where I have no idea what you’re talking about. Spencer is telling Muslims, Hindus, Jews and Christians that their Muslim “friends”, even friends with close, long-standing relationships, are absolutely not to be trusted.

What does this have to do with “enforcing the law”?? WHAT law? What on earth are you talking about? There is no law, anywhere, that can keep a radicalized Muslim from suddenly turning on you for no apparent reason. As Spencer said, these are people to whom, to exactly quote him, “loyalty to Islam is everything”. They are not deterred by any law, whether it is enforced or not. As Spencer said, these are people who see the world through the lens of “strength and weakness”. This has nothing to do with law.

I do not live in Israel; but my impression of the place is that, regardless of laws and enforcement, one needs to pack a glock, know how and be ready to use it, and not trust his neighbors.

    Mic.7
[2] The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
[3] That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
[4] The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
[5] Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
[6] For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

This is reality. God does not speak idle words.

Personally, I do not own a firearm, for a very practical reason (I live in the US). It will not enhance the safety of myself nor my wife: If someone wants to kill us, they will kill us — based on their own wickedness, without any provocation from us. We are elderly and fairly frail: We are both concerned about falling, because at our age, falls can be fatal. If a terrorist were to confront us, we are more likely to overcome him with our words than with any weapon; and we definitely can NOT depend on the authorities to save us by “enforcing the law”.

I wish Israel the very best of laws, and the very best of law enforcement; but indivitual Israelis need to look after themselves. Concerning nations, like India, Israel and the US, Robert Spencer again gives us valuable information:

Spences appraises us of a very real situation developing in South Asia: The Taliban, which, thanks to Joe Biden, has become the fourth most powerful military in the world, may soon absorb Pakistan and become an advance nuclear power — A THREAT TO ISRAEL AND ALL OF US, FAR GREATER THAN THE MULLAHS OF IRAN. Pakistan is very unstable; and this could happen almost at the drop of a hat; yet I hear very little about this on Israpundit and elsewhere.

    Be well.
