Why don’t we see demonstrations against Islamic dictatorships in London, Paris , Barcelona?
Or demonstrations against the Burmese dictatorship?
Why aren’t there demonstrations against the enslavement of millions of women who live without any legal protection?
Why aren’t there demonstrations against the use of children as human bombs where there is conflict with Islam?
Why has there been no leadership in support of the victims of Islamic dictatorship in Sudan ?
Why is there never any outrage against the acts of terrorism committed against Israel ?
Why is there no outcry by the European left against Islamic fanaticism?
Why don’t they defend Israel’s right to exist?
Why confuse support of the Palestinian cause with the defense of Palestinian terrorism?
And finally, the million dollar question: Why is the left in Europe and around the world obsessed with the two most solid democracies, the United States and Israel, and not with the worst dictatorships on the planet? The two most solid democracies, who have suffered the bloodiest attacks of terrorism, and the left doesn’t care.
And then, to the concept of freedom. In every pro-Palestinian European forum I hear the left yelling with fervor: “We want freedom for the people!”
Not true. They are never concerned with freedom for the people of Syria or Yemen or Iran or Sudan, or other such nations. And they are never preoccupied when Hamas destroys freedom for the Palestinians. They are only concerned with using the concept of Palestinian freedom as a weapon against Israeli freedom. The resulting consequence of these ideological pathologies is the manipulation of the press.
The international press does major damage when reporting on the question of the Israeli-Palestinian issue. On this topic they don’t inform, they propagandize.
When reporting about Israel, the majority of journalists forget the reporter code of ethics. And so, any Israeli act of self-defense becomes a massacre, and any confrontation, genocide. So many stupid things have been written about Israel that there aren’t any accusations left to level against her.
At the same time, this press never discusses Syrian and Iranian interference in propagating violence against Israel, the indoctrination of children, and the corruption of the Palestinians. And when reporting about victims, every Palestinian casualty is reported as tragedy and every Israeli victim is camouflaged, hidden or reported about with disdain.
And let me add on the topic of the Spanish left. Many are the examples that illustrate the anti-Americanism and anti-Israeli sentiments that define the Spanish left. For example, one of the leftist parties in Spain has just expelled one of its members for creating a pro-Israel website. I quote from the expulsion document: “Our friends are the people of Iran, Libya and Venezuela, oppressed by imperialism, and not a Nazi state like Israel .”
In another example, the socialist mayor of Campozuelos changed Shoah Day, commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, with Palestinian Nabka Day, which mourns the establishment of the State of Israel, thus showing contempt for the six million European Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
Or in my native city of Barcelona, the city council decided to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel, by having a week of solidarity with the Palestinian people. Thus, they invited Leila Khaled, a noted terrorist from the 70’s and current leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terrorist organization so described by the European Union, which promotes the use of bombs against Israel .
This politically correct way of thinking has even polluted the speeches of President Zapatero. His foreign policy falls within the lunatic left, and on issues of the Middle East, he is unequivocally pro-Arab. I can assure you that in private, Zapatero places on Israel the blame for the conflict in the Middle East , and the policies of Foreign Minister Moratinos reflect this. The fact that Zapatero chose to wear a kafiah in the midst of the Lebanon conflict is no coincidence; it’s a symbol.
Spain has suffered the worst terrorist attack in Europe and it is in the crosshairs of every Islamic terrorist organization. As I wrote before, they kill us with cell phones hooked to satellites connected to the Middle Ages. And yet the Spanish left is the most anti-Israeli in the world.
And then it says it is anti-Israeli because of solidarity. This is the madness I want to denounce in this conference.
Conclusion:
I am not Jewish. Ideologically I am left and by profession a journalist. Why am I not anti-Israeli like my colleagues? Because as a non-Jew I have the historical responsibility to fight against Jewish hatred and currently against the hatred for their historic homeland, Israel . To fight against anti-Semitism is not the duty of the Jews, it is the duty of the non-Jews.
As a journalist it is my duty to search for the truth beyond prejudice, lies and manipulations. The truth about Israel is not told. As a person from the left who loves progress, I am obligated to defend liberty, culture, civic education for children, coexistence and the laws that the Tablets of the Covenant made into universal principles.
Principles that Islamic fundamentalism systematically destroys. That is to say, that as a non-Jew, journalist and lefty, I have a triple moral duty with Israel, because if Israel is destroyed, liberty, modernity and culture will be destroyed too.
The struggle of Israel, even if the world doesn’t want to accept it, is the struggle of the world.

Kenya was devastated by a Massive Drought in 2009. The Israel Longhorn Project could have helped prevent this if Americans would have funded the project 7 years ago when I first asked them to help.
Kenya Devastated by Massive Drought (Week of Oct. 20th, 2009)
Lindsey Hilsum of ITN reports from Kenya on the worst drought to strike the horn of Africa in more than a decade.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Next: the worst drought in a decade in the Horn of Africa.
Lindsey Hilsum Independent Television News reports from Kenya.
And a warning: This story contains some graphic images.
LINDSEY HILSUM: Signs of death litter the ground, and its smell lingers in the air.
Across Northern Kenya and beyond, severe drought has killed hundreds of thousands of cattle and goats. Even the wildlife is suffering. In the bed of the Uasin Giru River, dry for 10 months now, elephants desperately forage for water. The younger elephants have perished, and the Buffalo. The impala are dying of thirst.
People are digging for water in the dry riverbed, trying to provide relief for both wild animals and domestic herds. They say they will have to dig down two meters to find a drop. The Samburu are trekking their cattle further and further, searching for pasture.
This land hasn’t seen rain for nearly a year. The cattle are just scratching around for something to eat, those that have survived. What local people say is that the seasons have become unpredictable. And climate change experts say, probably, that’s the way it’s going to be from now onwards: more drought followed by flooding, more extreme weather patterns. And the people who live in this arid part of Africa, dependent on their animals, are going to have to adapt.
But they don’t have the money to restock herds when they die, nor to build dams to conserve water when the rains come. The Kenyan government neglects this part of the country. And international appeals remain underfunded.
The village of Mpagas is one of the worst-hit. The people here are barely surviving.
LERIAN LAKANA, community elder: Since I was born, I have never seen such an extreme drought. Almost all the cattle have died, and the few still standing are dying now. I had 300 goats, but only 10 have survived. Of my eight donkeys, seven died, and the last one is dying now.
Millions of Kenyans need aid
LINDSEY HILSUM: The women and children hang about under a tree. There’s not a lot else to do. The children show signs of malnutrition, and their mothers say, these days, they’re often sick. They get a little food aid occasionally, but no health worker has been here to weigh and measure them. They’re on their own.
A few miles away, in Namare, a government truck has arrived bringing maize flour. It’s not enough, but at least it’s something. The U.N. says nearly four million Kenyans urgently need food aid. The women here told me four children had died of hunger in the last month.
NKODELAN LETORE, Kenyan: The children are suffering a lot because there’s no milk. The livestock we have now are all thin. We’re struggling, and the children are sick, although some are surviving. The famine is bringing many problems to our community, especially to the children.
LINDSEY HILSUM: The Red Cross has come to do de-stocking. They buy skinny goats for 1,000 shillings, well above the market rate. The animals are taken to the rocks above the village for slaughter. The meat will be distributed to the most needy families in the community. This at least provides practical and immediate help.
LINDSEY HILSUM: The singing well, a Samburu tradition — these days, the water table is so low, the well is four men deep. The animals are desperate, and so are the people.
Pastoralism remains the best use of this arid land, but, as herders from different communities and tribes have to travel further to find water and pasture, they encroach on each other’s land. The Samburu warriors told me they were fighting the Turkana.
‘Survival under threat’
LTACHAWUA LETELEPA, Kenyan: We fight over pasture, because of water, and also for land. Whatever the situation, animals must get water. We were even raided here at this water point. A woman was shot dead here on that day. Women don’t go to fight, so we don’t like these attack at the wells.
LINDSEY HILSUM: Pastoralists carry not only their traditional spears and knives, but Kalashnikovs. Dozens have been killed in recent months. If they lose all their animals, herders end up unemployed and poor in dusty townships.
JOSEPH LAPARIYO, Community Organization for Development Support: It becomes kind of a survival for the fittest. So, they fight over that scarce resource. And that just the scenario in Northern Kenya now.
LINDSEY HILSUM: A Chinese company has brought a water dowser to the side of the road, which they’re building up to the Ethiopian border, welcome, if temporary relief. But a dead donkey lies submerged in the channel where people are scooping water to drink. Already, cholera has broken out nearby.
In the last few days, a little rain has fallen. But the remaining animals are so weak, they can’t cope with the cold and wet. If the rains now expected are heavy, they won’t restore the pasture, but bring floods and erosion, another curse.
People here don’t know what to expect from the future. They just know that drought is more frequent and severe than ever before, and their very survival is under threat.
Texas Longhorn cattle fit and thrive in desert environments. This is an educational, cattle-crossbreeding and research project that is helping Israel, Jordan and East Africa.
1. Longhorns can eat invasive shrubs and cacti (decreasing fire hazards).
2. Longhorns have higher reproduction rates and very low loss rates.
3. Longhorns have excellent calving and mothering abilities.
4. Longhorns solve the problem of rising feed costs.
5. Longhorns protect their calves from predators.
6. Longhorns are highly resistant to diseases.
7. Longhorns will use less land and less water.
Problems in Israel Beef Cattle industry
1. Their European cattle are failing to thrive in Israel’s desert environment.
2. Poor disease resistance, genetic diseases and high losses due to predators.
3. Soaring feed costs, as they do not eat shrubs, tree leaves, or cactus.
4. Calf losses as high as 30% and low reproduction rates.
5. Poor mothering skills and birth complications.
To solve these problems we are creating a small self-sustainable herd of Texas Longhorn cattle.
We will be using 22nd century cattle handle methods called, Stockmanship and ecological grazing techniques called Strategic Grazing. Both will be taught to Israeli, East Africa and Jordanian Ranchers. See below…
Stockmanship or a Method of Creating Happy Cows or Cattle
A method of moving cattle without stress, it is a method that uses the cow or herd’s body space. Just like in people when someone gets to close to you, you move away from the pressure. Cattle do the very same thing. We use pressure and release with the cattle simple by moving into their personal space and then releasing the pressure by moving out. This causes then to yield to the pressure and move off in the direction we asked for. This can be use for any kind of herd animal. Once the pressure is released the animal feels relief and stays in the pasture section where you placed them, until you move them again. Animals demonstrate a positive and pleasurable response to this method of movement, “Stockmanship”.
This method of animal handling also improves meat quality, increasing tenderness, increasing meat quantity. It decreases disease and meat deformity and discoloring. There are fewer dark cutters therefore, 30% more kosher cattle.
Strategic Grazing
A rotating method of grazing using every part of your pasture, one section at a time allowing grass and plant life to restore itself.
Dividing your pasture into equal parts and graze your herd in each area separately before moving on to the next. Resting grazed areas for days, weeks or even months, restores plant life. This can be done with electric fencing or even better with “Stockmanship”.
@ yamit82:
I used too many words to say the same thing you said. We are both right.
The strategic problem is that we Jews insist on defending our positions instead of attacking the truly unruly Leftist religious dogmas. Hate for the Left is simply a tactic. The nature of using ‘hate’ as a tool makes them as destructive to human progress as Genghis Khan. As with Stalin, for the Left Antisemitism is a crime, but Jews and Judaism must die, because they are anti-Revolutionary. Whether we like it or not, Jews, by merely existing, stand in opposition to the goals of the Revolution.
Sorry! I did it again, using too many words.
Many America Rabbi’s, Jews and Zionists have divided minds, half of it supports Israel and other half supports the Palestinians. The America left and the progressive also support Palestinians.
My question to them? Supporting Palestinians to do what? Kill more Jews, Israelis or their Arab brothers?
I don’t want to say this. I am a shamed to say this. But it must be said!
ISRAEL UNDER ATTACK: Help bring Texas Longhorns home to Israel to help defend the Ranches and Farms against this economic threat that Israel has endured. Israel has European cattle that don’t fit its desert environment. With a nominal donation from you can help make a difference. A $250 donation from 2,000 of you could end this nightmare. And a $1 from 500,000 of could do the same; then there is the Leadership donation of $1000 or more – Go to the website use the contact information or donation page with the PayPal button. http://longhornproject.org

@ jlevyellow:
There are two prime reasons.
1-They hate Jews and always have. Israel is but a substitute for Jew.
2-they are opposed to all nationalist states and Israel epitomizes such a nationalism and national identity.
I find the Left’s position on Israel to be perfectly coherent with other principles it espouses.
1) Eternal Revolution: Israel seeks stability within its tribal majority. Such a position is anathema to the Left.
2) A world without borders: The Jews of Israel seek security within its borders.
3) A dictatorship that empowers those who are currently powerless: Israel has managed a balance between social justice and capitalist appetitiveness. Such an alternative to the Left must be fought tooth and nail, since it puts paid to their plans for an end to free capitalism and a classless society.
4) The end of private wealth: Israel’s success as a middle-class venture is a throwback and must be characterized as anomalous. It must be viewed as an oppressive (Nazi) force for it to have attained its current level of success.
5) Peoples of the world must act as part of a greater whole: Individualism as expressed in conscience, ethics, and other non-materialistic concepts such as freedom are in opposition collective notions. Israel, as an example of ethical behavior in war and in family values must be actively opposed even to the point of supporting its destruction.
In short, Israel does not and should not exist because it represents a fetid reminder of concepts like royalty, law, religion, and hereditary wealth. I have heard Jews referred to as “a pain in the eye” by a German Nazi type, but this is apparently how the Left views Israel as well.
Frankly, these ideational lunacies of the Left are among the best reasons to support the continued existence of Israel and Judaism so that the principles uncovered by the Jews over the millenia will not be lost to the world and need re-creation to permit continued future progress.
