  1. Hi, Peloni. You said,

Both NATO and Russia acted to preferentially support one side rather than take the position of an international referee. Both Kosovo, which was freed only with NATO support, and the Ukrainian provinces, which was only freed with Russian support, declared or will declare their secession from their mother nation while being occupied with armies of foreigners to permit such a declaration to have the force of fact.

Leaving the “mother country” bit, this sounds like a replay of the Spanish Civil War, Korea, Vietnam, even the Chinese Civil War. They’re all internal conflicts, made bloody by foreigners intervening for their own interests. I don’t share Dr. Turley’s enthusiasm for the Russians, nor the MSM’s Rah! Rah! cheerleading for the Ukrainians I think ALL the proxy civil wars of recent history ended in victory for some populist dictator — Franco, Hitler, Mussolini, Selassie, Mao, Ho, Kim.

Who will win this round? Putin? Zelenskyy? I don’t know… I need a nap.

I just started dozing off, and saw all these dictatorships, one by one, falling into black holes. Prophetic? Zzzzzz

  2. On the issue of the referendum, I believe that if you go back to the example of the conquest of Serbia and the formation of the quasi state of Kosovo, you will find more than a insignificant parallel for Russia and the Ukrainian provinces.

Prior to the 1999 ‘Humanitarian” war in Serbia, the ongoing contest between the govt of Serbia and the Kosovo terrorist movement led to claims and counter claims of mass murders, going back for many years while the Serb govt tried to eliminate the Western back dissidents. Similarly, such claims were made between Ukraine and the population in the Donbas while Ukraine had tried for 8yrs to crush the Russian ‘supported’ dissidents. A foreign extra national organization, NATO, made it their decision to intercede with the force of arms in the contest in Serbia, despite the fact that it was an INTRAnational dispute. Likewise, Russia, as part of an extra national organization embarked to intercede in the Ukraine in support of her allies. Both NATO and Russia acted without any greater level of support than the will of their respective extra national organizations. Indeed, both Kosovo and the Ukrainian provinces will be seen to have disputed recognition going forward, each with less than half the world’s nations recognizing their new status. And yet, the integrity of these two populations will be maintained by the force of arms of greater powers than themselves. In fact, it is the force of arms which made Kosovo ‘sovereign’ and which will also make Donetz/Lughanz/etc ‘Russian’. It will also only be due to the use of a force of arms of other nations which might perchance change the newly acquired status of either of these two peoples.

Consequently, irregardless of what any nation cares to promote as to their political recognition of either Kosovo or Dombas, the only substantive question to be considered is how the nations of the world will react once the respective declarations are made. Of course, if the US will continue their proxy attacks upon the Dombas once it has been declared as Russian territory, this will be a distinct difference between what took place in Serbia and what is taking place in Ukraine.

Whereas the West seems to exist on a steady diet of their own rhetoric as they have thus far been fighting to the last Ukrainian, they will now be faced with the consequences of open war with Russia, as Putin does not bluff.

  3. @Edgar G. I wasn’t even going to watch the video, but I’ll never make that mistake again. He is a bit like Jane Fonda and the whole road show of people who supported North Vietnam. I was against that war, but I never supported the enemy as Turley seems to be doing in all of his videos. Surely Ted can find videos from someone who is better informed and doesn’t dislike his own country.

  4. @Ketzel2-

Turley being so excited is his normal condition. His raison d’etre is “to be excited” That’s how he interests his listeners of his trivialities, so that he can sell his crap that he advertises. THAT’S his REAL job, not puerile political commentary that always turns out to be highly exaggerated or merely speculation.

    That’s his “parnassah”.

P.S. I also delved a little and found that he was a Christian minister in some obscure congregation.

So he’s basically a product pusher with a gimmick. At first it was just a few “vitamins”, then he branched out into T-shirts, caps-und alz ding.

Don’t know if he has toenail clippers. He does enough “clipping”, without them.

  5. I looked him up. No political science, just liberal arts and theology. Nothing wrong with that, except that he’s a Christian who claims to want to support Christianity. I’m not a Christian, but Erdogan’s behavior toward Christians for the past several years has alarmed me. I shouldn’t have watched that disgusting video, this Turley always annoys me, and he strikes me as basically a traitor. How do decent people deal with their own culture’s shortcomings? Surely not by switching sides. We can rein in or leave NATO, do all the other necessary things, without simping for anti-western dictators.

  6. Turley is so excited about the mystical pan slavic revival, the revival in India, etc. What a crackhead. Is he aware that the Orthodox churches outside of Russia have separated? How’s religious unity in India? And Turkey, which is going backward under Erdogan and oppressing Christians. This doesn’t mean NATO is wonderful either, but Turley is one of those black and white either or guys. It’s painful to watch him, and I wonder where he studied, because he wouldn’t have passed freshman comp at a real college.

  7. Israel should be concerned if a referendum on territory is binding. Arabs in any neighborhood could have a referendum and change Israel’s borders. Mexicans living in Chula Vista, CA could vote to move the border north to include their enclave. So it’s more important than ever to control facts on the ground. As I’ve mentioned before, a corrupt referendum is exactly how native Hawaiians lost their country, which had an established monarchy, it wasn’t a bunch of randoms without a government.

  8. Seriously? A referendum? Who is going to administer the referendum? Who is going to count the votes? Maybe Russia can install some Dominion voting machines. The rant about the “liberal world order” and it’s relationship to support of the Ukraine sounds like Russian propaganda.

If Russia can claim that it legally annexed regions in the Ukraine, then it can claim that the Ukraine is attacking Russian territory. That can be used as a justification to escalate the war and use weapons of mass destruction, ie. nuclear weapons.
