An overwhelming majority of Israelis believe that the Iranian nuclear threat constitutes an existential threat to the State of Israel and that the only way to stop Iran’s nuclearization is by a military attack.
-
Two-thirds of Israelis (65%) think the price Israel would have to pay for living under the shadow of the Iranian nuclear bomb is higher than the price it would pay for attacking Iran’s nuclear capability.
-
60% agree that the only way to stop Iran’s nuclear program is by a military attack; 66% believe in the IDF’s ability to damage Iran’s nuclear program substantially.
-
63% believe that the price the Israeli home front will pay if the United States attacks Iran is similar to the price it will pay if Israel does so.
- A 60% majority agree with the statement that the only way to stop Iran’s nuclearization is by a military attack.
One more important consideration about dealing with Iran’s growing nuclear threat against Israel.
Barack Hussein Obama Jr has mounted an all-but frenzied effort to talk the political and military leadership of Israel into delaying any action against Iran until after the November 2012 national election for the US presidency. He is fearful that an attack before the election would throw his foreign policy into shambles and add to his growing re-election woes.
Which is precisely why Israel should ignore his blandishments and do the job on its ayutollist enemies in advance of that election. Because if that man gets a second term of office, you must understand that Israel will be one of the main targets of his long-term African Muslim-bred animosities against whites in general and Jews in particular.
Depending to major extent upon how the United States Supreme Court deals with “Obamacare” and its mandates to compel all Americans to purchase health insurance, with penalties if they fail to make such a purchase, Obama’s domestic programs and policies are being shredded into tatters.
Contributing to the destruction of his foreign policy as well as his domestic policy will make it far easier to us to turn Governor Mitt Romney into President Mitt Romney — a far better outcome both for the United States and the State of Israel.

Okay. Now it is apparently clear to most Israelis that if the Iranian nuclear weaponry centers are not dismantled or destroyed, Iran will begin assembling nuclear weapons. The Iranian religious and political leadership has made it abundantly clear that they intend to destroy the Jewish state.
And it surely must be equally clear to the same Israeli population that neither economic sanctions or diplomatic threats will stop the Iranian centrifuges from enriching their uranium into weapons-grade war materiel. Which leaves no alternative than destroying the Iranian nuclear weapons development center — above or below ground.
And it surely must be equally clear that neither the United States of America, its supposed European allies, the UNO, or any other power or group of powers will initiate military action in time to destroy those weapons development centers.
Which means that Israel’s government alone can or will initiate the necessary military action. And it must be clearly understood that if the government of Israel fails to take that action, it is only a matter of time before one or more of those nuclear devices are exploded in or over Greater Tel Aviv, or Haifa, or both.
In short, this is all like late May and early June 1967, but this time on nuclear steroids. To be or not to be.
So, Israel. What will you do about this? And will you do it in time? These essentially are the only questions that matter.
To be or not to be.
No more hasbara. No more whining or whimpering about the unfairness of it all. Action alone will save your lives and your country.
Any and all of you reading this are free to tell me if I am wrong, and if so, what exactly ought to be done.

I think Curious American is an old leftist friend of Israpundit.
As though we are not already sure that Iran intends to acquire nuclear weapons and use them on Israel.
@ CuriousAmerican:
Aha! Should we wait until you feel sure or we must believe that the monsters in there mean what they say?
Lets see? Let me think about it… Done. 77% say it.
Now please convey to the folk over there that there is not such thing as doubts here and have the fellows at the NYT accept the truth for a change.

Just be sure that Iran really is building a bomb.
An opinion poll is not needed to lead Israeli leaders to defend the country.
Israel will pay a price for stopping Iran but the alternative is simply not acceptable.
