Wasal Abu Yousef of the PLO leadership, said Thursday that Palestinians would not return to the negotiation table with Israel unless a deadline for the end of the Israeli “occupation” is set, London-based newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported.
He also said that, should negotiations resume, Palestinians would not rely solely on American mediation due to their “bias” towards Israel.
“Bilateral negotiations under US auspices are no longer possible,” he said.
Yousef told the London daily that the decision to refrain from returning to negotiations stemmed from the results of Israel’s latest elections and government formation, which brought to power an even more right-wing government than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s last coalition.
“We believe that the political horizon is completely closed with this new settler government,” Yousef told Al-Sharq Al-Aswat.
Peace Negotiations as soon as they renounce their made up right of return, agree to a unified Jewish Jerusalem, and Israeli security needs will meet Israels requirements in Judah and Samaria. Also they will agree to a Jewish State.
@ NormanF:I do not think there is any conceivable reason for the so called plo to “make peace” with Israel, Norman EVER. Even if they did sign some agreement because, using your logic, they had “reason”, it would only be a hudna in their eyes and in reality too. A Judenrein Judea and Samaria MUST be defined as absolutely OUT OF THE QUESTION. The UN is a terrorist enabling organization and The ICC is a sham. We should thank the so called plo for their honesty and move on, there is no peace with these people unless you wish to accept arafat’s defintion of “peace”.
PRIORITY ONE: SURVIVING OBAMA and electing a Republican POTUS. IF necessary ISRAEL should annex the territory it must keep, which is, in my view, ALL the territory it has, probably more Norman, MUCH more.
The PLO believes time is on its side and it sees no reason to make peace with Israel. After the dust settles on Iran and the Arabian peninsula, the heat will be back on Israel again.
