The world is being sold on the idea that if only Israel accepted the Saudi deal there would be peace, if not in the ME, at least in Israel.
In Israel the debate seems to focus on the price demanded for peace.
The focus should be on the fact that “peace” is a siren’s call to Israel which will lead to its destruction.
Since “peace” will never come, Israel should make no more concessions.
The Sirens I am referring to are from Greek Mythology.
“The SIRENS, they say, had maidens’ features, but from the thighs down they had the forms of birds. One of them played the lyre, another sang, and another played the flute. By these means, and by clever, knavish, and deceitful words, they persuaded passing mariners to linger, thus causing their destruction.“
It is not enough to simply cll the Saudi plan a siren whistle. If by that you mean that there is no real peace plan, and that terror attacks will continue, then be straightforard and say that Israel should never consider any plan from any arab nation. Period. In fact the Saudi plan, for better or worse, will most likely have the US. behind it, and, that being the case, Israel will attend meetings like a good little nation. He who pays the piper calls the tune.
I’d like to see Israel proposing peace plans.
Just for the PR value.
