Obama Administration Removed Faisal Shahzad from Terror Surveillance List Before Attack

Faisal Shahzad was removed from the national terrorist surveillance list before the Times Square attack.

(CBS News)

Confessed terrorist Faisal Shahzad was removed from the Department of Homeland Security travel lookout list sometime after Barack Obama came into office.

CBS reported:

Sources tell CBS News that would-be Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad appeared on a Department of Homeland Security travel lookout list – Traveler Enforcement Compliance System (TECS) – between 1999 and 2008 because he brought approximately $80,000 cash or cash instruments into the United States.

The New York Times reported that the person who bought Faisal’s apartment back in 2004 was interviewed by federal investigators.

George LaMonica, a 35-year-old computer consultant, said he bought his two-bedroom condominium in Norwalk, Conn., from Mr. Shahzad for $261,000 in May 2004. A few weeks after he moved in, Mr. LaMonica said, investigators from the national Joint Terrorism Task Force [JTTF] interviewed him, asking for details of the transaction and for information about Mr. Shahzad. It struck Mr. LaMonica as unusual, but he said detectives told him they were simply “checking everything out.”

The Strata Sphere is all over this story.

Barack Obama began shutting down Bush-era terrorist investigations last year including the investigation of Faisal Shahzad.

We all know what happened next.

Last week Faisal almost blew a hole in the middle of Times Square.

The only thing that saved the people of New York was Faisal’s incompetence.

UPDATE: Faisal Shahzad had contacts with several other terrorist leaders including the radical American-born Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki, the Taliban Chief, and the Mumbai Massacre mastermind.

ABC reported:

Shahzad also had a web of jihadist contacts that included big names tied to terror attacks in the U.S. and abroad, including the figure who has emerged as a central figure in many recent domestic terror attempts – radical American-born Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki.

Besides Awlaki, sources say Shahzad was also linked to a key figure in the Pakistani Taliban, its Emir Beitullah Mehsud, who was killed in a drone missile strike in 2009. The Mehsuds had been family friends of Shahzad, who is the son of a former high-ranking Pakistani military officer.

Egypt Bars Israeli Doctor from Int’l Conference in Cairo

Egypt has barred an Israeli hematology expert from attending an international conference set to take place this month in Cairo despite the longstanding peace treaty between the two nations.

Dr. Uri Seligsohn, Professor of Hematology at Tel HaShomer’s Sheba Medical Center, has been unable to obtain a visa from the Egyptian government in order to attend the conference, scheduled for May 22-25. It was Seligsohn who had supported a decision to approve Cairo as the location for the meeting site, two years ago.

He is chairman of the Education Committee of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), the organization that is sponsoring its 56th Scientific and Standardization Committee (SSC) meeting, which he intended to attend.

The professor told the Hebrew-language Ma’ariv newspaper over the weekend that at the time, he “thought that there were ties of peace and friendship between Israel and Egypt,” and that “with the help of the conference we would be able to develop the Egyptian medical system – but unfortunately I was wrong.

“Apparently the Egyptians are uncomfortable that a Jew and an Israeli doctor should come to their conferences.

“Since it became known that the Egyptians refuse to approve my entry there has been a tremendous commotion among researchers and doctors around the world,” he said, according to IMRA (Independent Media Review and Analysis), which translated the report. “I know of many researchers who have canceled their attendance at the conference. The management of the organization has announced that this move will have serious ramifications for scientists in Egypt.” (IsraelNationalNews.com)

  2. Neo-Nazis Murder Yeshiva Student

Ukraine police have found the mutilated body of Chabad-Lubavitch yeshiva student Aryeh Leib Misinzov, who disappeared in Kiev on April 20, the anniversary of Adolf Hitler’s birthday, when Neo-Nazis often carry out attacks on Jews.

Lubavitch Rabbi Yaakov Zilberman was called by police to identify the body, according to Chabad.info. “It was a horrific scene,” he said. The body, mutilated into nearly a dozen pieces, was found buried in a Kiev suburb.

Police have arrested the suspected leader of the gang that murdered Misinzov, but they have not announced whether they are treating the killing as an anti-Semitic crime.

The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman, who was in Israel at the time of the murder, immediately returned to Kiev to refuse police requests that the burial be delayed, in violation of Jewish law. The body is to be flown to Israel for burial.

Anti-Semitism is rampant in the Ukraine, and after Hitler’s birthday, Chabad school principal Rabbi Mordechai Levenarts discovered graffiti, including “Happy Holocaust” and Death to the Jews,” scrawled on the school’s walls. The same day was the evening of Israel’s Independence Day.

Two and a half years ago, an arsonist torched the school’s entrance.

In a separate incident last month, neo-Nazis damaged a display in Kiev’s Jewish museum. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

  3. I read this report which pretty much confirms my previous and current understanding of the situation of the Jews worldwide ;

The Coordination Forum for Countering Antisemitism – 2009 Summary
The result of the Jewish Agency’s report released on Sunday showing global antisemitism spiraling out of control recalls the memorable line in the film Casablanca, in which police Captain Renault announces that Rick’s Cafe must be closed because of illegal activity. “I’m shocked, shocked to discover that gambling is going on here!” says Renault while being handed the proceeds of his gambling wins.

While some observers of Jew-hatred in Western Europe are not shocked by the largest wave of antisemitism since the Hitler movement, many European governments, policy makers, and academics, however, tend to feign shock like Renault or simply cannot fathom that hatred of Israel is the most ubiquitous form of contemporary antisemitism.
As documented by the Jewish Agency report and the 2009 German University Bielefeld study, there is no shortage of hostile anti-Israeli acts and attitudes within such European countries as Sweden, Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Italy, Spain and Greece. The intense alliance between Hugo Chavez’s populist leftist Venezuelan government and the Islamic Republic of Iran has opened the flood gates of antisemitism in Latin America.

Ballooning global antisemitism may contribute to a growing aliyah rate. According to the Jewish Agency, there was a 17 percent increase in 2009 aliyah compared to 2008. Across Europe, aliyah spiked from 2,402 to 2,600, and South American Jewry showed immigration rising from 1,078 to 1,230.

Last December, while speaking at the third annual Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem, Dr. Daniel Pipes predicted that an “exodus” of Diaspora Jews in Europe could take place because European Jews are facing lethal anti-Semitism. According to Pipes, the migration could “replicate the post-World War II exodus of Jews from Muslim countries, where the Jewish population has collapsed from about a million in 1948 to 60,000 today.”

The Coordination Forum for Countering Antisemitism – 2009 Summary.wmv

The Jewish Agency study shows the obvious links between Diaspora Jews and Israel. While Nazi racial antisemitism has largely drifted into oblivion, European countries fail to see that the new outbreak of antisemitism revolves around turning Israel and Diaspora Jewry into a punching bag.

As the study highlighted, a broad-based coalition among left-wing and Islamic organizations is coupled with an understanding that chalks up violent attacks on Jews and Israeli as a justified byproduct of the Israel-Palestinian situation.

A telling example was the marriage of the German Left with Muslim organizations during Operation Cast Lead. While over 100,000 Germans participated in anti-Israeli rallies, where incitement to murder Jews and Israelis was chanted, the police instead seized Israeli flags for “provoking” anti-Israeli demonstrators. One young student in the gritty industrial city of Bochum was arrested and fined for waving an Israeli flag at a pro-Israel protest. The German Parliament ignored the explosion of antisemitism and did not open an investigation into the mass festivals of Israel hate.

Large European trade union federations, such as the Irish Trade Union Congress and the British Trades Union Congress, have spearheaded efforts to equate Israel with Nazi Germany and sponsor economic and cultural boycotts of the Jewish state. A 2008 Irish Trade Union report drew parallels between Israel’s efforts to block weapons smuggling into Gaza and the Nazi creation of the Warsaw Ghetto.

While England and Germany have formed commissions to monitor antisemitism, one commission member in Germany urged a focus on extreme right-wing antisemitism instead of the dominant form of Jew-hatred – Islamic and leftist anti-Semitism.

The same holds true for President Shimon Peres’s audience in the German Parliament. He is slated to speak on Wednesday, International Holocaust Day, to members of the German parliament, many of whom from the Left Party participated in pro-Hamas and pro-Hizbullah demonstrations, where calls for Israel’s destruction were advocated. Eleven Left Party MPs voted against a parliamentary resolution equating opposition to the Jewish state with antisemitism.

The more than 100 members of the German-Israeli parliamentary group spanning the six major parties (Greens, Christian Democrats, Social Democrats, Christian Social Union, Free Democrats and Left) will also attend Peres’s speech. While those MPs are supposed to advance the security of Israel, they have neither initiated a bill to ban their government’s insurance coverage for firms active in Iran nor introduced legislation seeking to curtail the flourishing German-Iranian trade relationship. The chairman of the German-Israel parliamentary group, Jerzy Montag from the Green Party, has difficulty understanding that anti-Zionism equals antisemitism.

Israel’s decision to convene an inter-ministerial task force to combat global antisemitism will do little to stem international anti-Semitism. Observers in Europe note that mainstream Europeans view antisemitism as a Jewish problem to be remedied by Jews instead of a problem driven by non-Jews who are also responsible for the cure. That helps to explain the unsettling statistics in the Bielefeld and Jewish Agency report throwing the blame back on Jews.

The results of the Jewish Agency study reveal a mushrooming anti-Israeli atmosphere in Europe and South America that will probably spur new increases in aliyah rates. Yet European policy makers, academics and politicians should not express that they are”shocked, shocked” to discover that Jews will once again flee Europe for refuge in the Jewish state.

JEWS BETTER WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE: Most are living in a bubble of delusion. Self delusion as it’s written on the wall as clear as day but those who will not see, won’t until it’s too late.

  4. Shahzad also had a web of jihadist contacts that included big names tied to terror attacks in the U.S. and abroad, including the figure who has emerged as a central figure in many recent domestic terror attempts – radical American-born Muslim cleric Anwar Awlaki.

Why isn’t this anwar awlaki arrested?

  5. If the conservative movement can’t politically cripple Obama with this one, it is time for conservatives to quit politics and find something else to do.

  6. What we ought to do with this ugly mother fu-ck-er is strap the bombs he created to his body, take him out to the desert, and detonate the bombs to send him to Allah. That is a just punishment for an ugly terrorist like this who plots the murder of innocents.
