Obama’s Anti-Israel Bullying Continues

By Jennifer Rubin, Commentary – 05.01.2010

The New York Times reports on the opening of the proximity talks, with two nuggets of news confirming that for all its “charm,” the Obami’s anti-Israel assault is going full steam ahead.

First, the Times — presumably with some sourcing — pronounces that “many experts agree that the chances of a breakthrough are minuscule, and some say the whole exercise is simply a warm-up before Mr. Obama puts forward his own proposals for ending decades of conflict.” Some say? But the president and Hillary Clinton of late have been promising they won’t “impose” any peace deal. Are we to believe that’s just spin? Yes, we’re shocked, shocked to find there’s duplicity going on in the Obami’s Israel policy. We are, no doubt, going to hear that they gave the parties every chance to work things out among themselves, but, by gosh, now it’s time to get serious and — voila! — here’s the Obama plan. But they promised not to pull this, you say? Well, they also say a nuclear-armed Iran is “unacceptable,” so don’t take them too literally.

But the real news comes with this glimpse into the bully-boyism that now characterizes the Obami’s treatment of our ally. We learn:

The Arab League is expected to endorse the decision of the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, to return to the bargaining table, when the organization meets on Saturday in Cairo. Mr. Abbas’s change of heart, administration officials said, came after reassurances from the United States, including a letter from Mr. Obama prodding the Palestinian leader to re-enter talks with Israel. Separately, these officials said, Mr. Mitchell’s deputy, David Hale, indicated to the Palestinians that if Israel proceeded with the construction of 1,600 housing units in Jerusalem’s ultra-orthodox neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo, the United States would abstain from, rather than veto, a resolution in the United Nations Security Council condemning the move.

So much for defending Israel in international institutions, and so much for past promises by the U.S. to leave disposition of Jerusalem to final-status talks. A knowledgeable source reminds me that the Bush administration regularly vetoed anti-Israel UN resolutions, the sole exception being an abstention in January 2009, which called for a ceasefire in the Gaza War. But the notion that we would threaten prospectively to permit a condemnation of the Jewish state by the UN Israel-bashers is frankly shocking. We’ll abstain no matter what the UN says? As the source tells me, “Resolutions are vetoed one by one; language counts.” So the Obami are either making a promise to the Palestinians that can’t be relied upon, or the Obami are giving Israel’s UN foes a blank check to bash, condemn, and vilify Israel to their heart’s content.

Once again, one asks, where are the mainstream Jewish organizations? Do they find Obama’s platitudinous assurances and pretty letters so irresistible that they can’t bestir themselves to discern the true nature of Obama’s Middle East policy? The evidence continues to mount that Obama will keep turning the screws on the Jewish state and will countenance, if not encourage, the UN’s crusade to delegitimize Israel and impose a “peace” on an unwilling ally. American Jewish “leaders” better rouse themselves from their slumber before it too late to knock the Obami off their desired course. Or maybe it already is.

  1. Neither will you. Neither will Marzel. Neither will Ketzelah. Neither will Matar. Neither will Ha’etzni.

I don’t disagree and none of those you mentioned ever went public and said or claimed they were as did Feiglin.

I don’t Whine; I am past the Whining stage in my life and I think I know a leader when I see and hear him.

Feiglin reminds me of Einsteins definition of insanity: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and

expecting different results”. 12-13 Years is quite enough time to prove Einstein was wrong and to get the support of those like me. It was

never his message or even his concept but as I said he is not the one to pull it off.

I haven’t forgotten the Likud of 82′, the ideological Likud who sold us for nothing, stole my home, and tried to fuck us 5 ways to sunday

for opposing them and then fighting for our rights.

I haven’t forgotten that at a labor central committee meeting called to debate how Labor would vote I sat there in the audience and watched

Shlomo Hillel and Shoshanna Amuusolino cry like Babies but none in the Likud cried. Labor in those days was more pro settlement and right

wing than the Likud is today.

I still have a police file from those days as I was suspected of burning the car of the governments administrator of Yamit. I didn’t do it

but the file although not active is still there. I did burn the Egyptian National flag purchased by Yuval Neiman ( Father of Israels

Nukes) and advised by ha Etzni how to do it in Public (The President of Israel came to Yamit to speak) as it was against the Law to deface

a flag or national symbol of a friendly country. I did burn the flag in front of the worlds press and media and got some rave notices.

The planning meeting was Rav Ariel, Neiman, Farchan, and our lawyer HaEtzni and me. I was the schmuck elected to do the protest without

    getting caught.

I remember physically with others breaking up a closed Knesset meeting and being allowed to observe after some heated discussion. I

remember meeting with Begin just before he left for Camp David and his bravado. I saw him return a broken shell of what he was before he

departed. Bullied and beaten by the weakest American President in history till now.

After watching the performance of the religious of Gush Emunim I knew then that they would have some success but lose in the end because

they refused to confront the established authorities especially Zahal. The government did not fear them but used them against the cause of

settlement. The whole of the leadership were on government payroll including most of the traitorous rabbis.

That should speak for itself. I realized that the rabbis of Europe who told the people to stay and it would all pass were still alive and

kicking through the Gush katif debacle!

Who is wise? He who learns from past mistakes and changes.

I see no wise men today in the Israeli politi.

    Feiglin epitomizes the saying:

    Nice guys finish last? Maybe?

  2. We could slap Obama, but shit splatters.

You should ask yourself why you’re always so deeply steeped in potty humor comments.

  3. Feiglin, Shy is a pathetic Joke. He will not save Jerusalem.

Neither will you. Neither will Marzel. Neither will Ketzelah. Neither will Matar. Neither will Ha’etzni.

But the only one who tried to make a go at it was Feiglin. The only one who was in a position to potentially do anything about it was Feiglin. The one who first sounded the alarm both about losing J&J&S and the powerplays destroying the Likud was Feiglin.

What’s really pathetic is whiners like you who complain day and night that Feiglin can’t do anything while at the same time not backing him up.

    Stupid Jews!

  4. I am hoping that Obama will change that.

I am fearing that it will change too late.

We’ll see? The leftist media is supporting BB for the most part and this has the effect of mittigating a lot of internal pressure on BB. He will lie like BB always does and not publicly say or do anything that will engender internal pressure until it is a fait acompli. Then it will be all over except the wailing of the gutless and clueless.

  5. Israelis are still living in la la Land of let’s play Ostrich.

Israelis are emotionally dependent upon America.

I am hoping that Obama will change that.

I am fearing that it will change too late.

  6. In return for the Jews abandoning their source of wisdom and morals, the Torah, they have become a laughingstock of buffoons and idiots. Cause and effect. Everything is cause and effect.

A real Torah Jew who fears G-d more than he fears BB and his stupid rabbi would know what to do. There is a lack of belief in G-d mostly by the so called religious. Petty rituals, petty rituals. What happened to the Judaism of deeds?

  7. But even the Lord would have difficulty inducing the level of heartlessness, blindness, and inebriation being displayed by liberal American Jews.

I wish it were just Liberal American Jews but I haven’t seen any real outpouring of real concern, rage, disgust or any other effective Jewish public activity even from non Liberal Jews or Christians for that matter. Lots of Blah Blah. BB is laughing at them and of course Hussein is thrilled by Jewry’s lack of concern and Jewry’s disunity. He understands the Jews and he has some good tutors by his side.

Israelis are still living in la la Land of let’s play Ostrich.

I support my good friend Baruch Marzel. He is the only one who understands the score and is wiling to to put his body alongside his ranting.

  8. In Yamit I saw the worth of Gush Emonim.. Much Blah Blah. I told those boy scout schmucks that because they didn’t defend Yamit their day would come. They put on a half hearted show and tell for the media, got Begin to promise more settlements and sold out their brothers and sisters, with sad faces and much pathos but when they tell the IDF and Begin that they won’t lift a finger against them they already conceded the battle.

Give me a hundred diehards willing to die and I would have stopped Begin and the whole withdrawal.

I made a statement to the press that anyone coming to throw me out of my house by force would not live to see his loved ones… Got a lot of press that but I was alone and few except the press took me seriously. I wasn’t, but the idea was to make the government believe we were then something might have been salvaged.

I told those assholes in Gush Katif to never believe the government, If they could give up the whole of Sinai for a shitty flag they will not hesitate to do to Gush katif what they did to Yamit etc. They listened to their Rabbis like the Jews in Eastern Europe listened to their rabbis. Never listen to rabbis if you want to survive, especially rabbis on government payrolls.

Y&S and Jerusalem are a goner it is only a matter of timing, unless somebody does BB pretty quick. Feiglin, Shy is a pathetic Joke. He will not save Jerusalem.

He should read the tea leaves.

  9. The answer is not anarchy.

    It is resolve.

But as last week’s Likud vote demonstrated yet again, he or she would be a leader without followers..The answer is not anarchy.

Then that leaves anarchy . Lets call it extreme civil disobedience with resolve.

  10. Sometimes anarchy is a good thing. Somtimes the only thing!

    The answer is not anarchy.

    It is resolve.

Israel needs a leader willing to a) make the case; and b) stand his/her ground.

But as last week’s Likud vote demonstrated yet again, he or she would be a leader without followers.

  11. Netanyahu has more of a stammer.

If anyone tells you that Yigal Amir did not change or at least delay American and Leftist Israels stoop to folly I would say they are all full of shit. We may need more Yigal Amirs for the same reasons. Maybe BB with have a disabling stroke or heart attack before he really does the ultimate damage.

One mans treachery. or corruption weighed against tens of thousands of lives is a no-brainier, even under Israeli Law he could be tried for treason but who would indict and try him?

Our problem for the thousandth time is not primarily Obama it is BB and his scared rabbits and grasshoppers in the Likud. He is not worth the damage and national catastrophe he is bringing upon us.

Sometimes anarchy is a good thing. Somtimes the only thing!

    Measure for measure.

In return for the Jews abandoning their source of wisdom and morals, the Torah, they have become a laughingstock of buffoons and idiots. Cause and effect. Everything is cause and effect.

  13. Perhaps.

But even the Lord would have difficulty inducing the level of heartlessness, blindness, and inebriation being displayed by liberal American Jews.

  14. American Jews are unable to see, hear or read. Most be some kind of disease. G-d help us fight this dread disease.

I propose that the national stupor is Divinely induced. It is actually miraculous.

“He taketh away the heart of the chiefs of the people of the land, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
They grope in the dark without light, and He maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.”

    – Job 12:24-25

  15. For Obama, room to maneuver on Israel
His approach upsets pro-Israeli groups, but he retains substantial backing among American Jews overall

    There it is.

    Pro-Israeli groups are pissed.

    Jews are not.

    Got it?

  16. Ayn, don’t they see or hear?

    BHO feels confident read

American Jews are unable to see, hear or read. Most be some kind of disease. G-d help us fight this dread disease.

  17. And before he can do that, he must stop emulating Ned Beatty in “Deliverance”.

Netanyahu has more of a stammer.

  18. 4. Netanyahu should have no trouble dragging them out that long, no matter what the muslim demands.
    5. Most likely, Obama will be in a weak position when they end.

    Comment by Samuel Fistel — May 2, 2010 @ 5:13 pm

    Optimistic optimism.

  19. November elections:

    1. The November elections are now six months away.
    2. A strong Repuplican (i.e., white christian conservative) showing, possibly a landslide, is still on track, as a reaction to Obama.
    3. The inevitably fruitless proximity talks are scheduled to last four months.
    4. Netanyahu should have no trouble dragging them out that long, no matter what the muslim demands.
    5. Most likely, Obama will be in a weak position when they end.

  20. American Jewish “leaders” better rouse themselves from their slumber before it too late to knock the Obami off their desired course. Or maybe it already is.

    They won’t.

    And it is.

As each false hope that Obama will stop aggressing against Israel is inevitably crushed by reality, more and more of these pundits are becoming suspicious that Obama wants Israel destroyed.

But the time for suspicion is long past.

It has been obvious from the start that Obama’s end game is the elimination of the Jewish State.

The next step in the process is for the Jennifer Rubins of the world to cross the Rubicon and just spit out that most unpleasant truth.

Election year charm offensive notwithstanding, Obama will accelerate his jihad against Israel until someone confronts him and makes it politically untenable to continue.

I am not confident that special someone exists.
