The Diplomacy and Security Cabinet has declared the Northern Wing of the Islamic Movement in Israel an illegal organization. The Northern Wing is the more extreme wing of the Islamic Movement, and is headed by Sheikh Ra’ad Salah of Umm el Fahm.

The Minister of Defense has signed a decree to this effect. This means that any person or body that offers services to the organization of operates within it will be breaking the law and can expect to be jailed.

In addition, all property belonging to the group can be seized.

Following the declaration, shut-down orders have been delivered to and pasted on the offices of 17 NGOs throughout Israel. Thirteen of these offices were searched as well.

The raids took place in Umm el Fahm, Yafo, Nazareth, Kafr Kana, Turan, Be’ersheva and Rahat. Computers and cash were seized, and the NGOs’ bank accounts were frozen.

“For years, the Northern Wing of the Islamic Movement has been leading a campaign of deception under the headline ‘Al Aqsa is in danger,’ which falsely accuses Israel of intending to damage the Al Aqsa mosque and break the status quo,” the Cabinet decision said. “Within this framework, the Northern Wing established an array of paid activists – the murabitun / murabitat – for the purpose of initiating provocations on the Temple Mount. This activity has led to a meaningful escalation in tensions on the Temple Mount. Many of the terror attacks carried out recently were executed against the background of this incitement and propaganda.”

“The Northern Wing under Sheikh Ra’ed Salah is a sister to the Hamas terror organization,” the Cabinet added. “The two movements cooperate closely and secretly. The Northern Wing of the Islamic Movement is a separatist-racist organization that does not recognize the institutions of the state of Israel, negates its right to exist and calls for an Islamic caliphate in its stead.”

Salah was handed an 11-month jail sentence in October after the courts rejected his appeal of a conviction on charges of incitement. The charges relate to a sermon he delivered in 2007, in which he said that “the finest moments are when we meet God as martyrs for Al-Aqsa,” and that “we will purify the blood of innocent people […] and remove the soul of Israeli occupation soldiers who are occupying the Al-Aqsa Mosque.” Following his speech, a Palestinian Arab mob rioted and threw rocks at security forces in the Old City, wounding three Border Police officers.

He was initially convicted on the incitement charge in March 2014 and sentenced to eight months in prison, but both he and the prosecution appealed. Salah has a long history of inciting violence focused around Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.

  1. @ watsa46:
No. We, the people will never know officially. But we do know anyway.
Iran and whoever aligns with Iran except Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Soros branches, folk from Norway, Sweden, England, France, Germany, etc. Of course private cash from local Muslims. 57% of that support the movement.

ISIS IS CONTAINED! Said yer prez, sez he.
Contained all over Iraq, most of Syria, much of the Sinai, Libya, West Africa, Somalia, Gaza, all over France, all over Belgium, the MAU-MAU section of Berlin, the Muslim quarter of Berlin, Muslim quarter in Frankfurt, a football stadium in Germany and in at least two aircraft from Air France grounded today in the US and Canada. I guess it is also contained in many locations in the US, Canada and now probably Australia, and who knows where else it is contained.
Atta boy! up there. What a containment job!

  2. Watch: Palestinian kids play ‘hide-and-go-stab’

Gruesome new playground favorite in Arab town in Samaria has kids enact stabbing attacks, replete with knife and kippahs for ‘victims.’

there is probably a 95% chance that these “children” will grow up and kill, or try to kill, Jews. So, is each one a potential mini hitler that should be aborted? When not dropping bombs because they are playing at the bombsite does that restraint cost Jews their lives in the future? Will they kill Jewish children while their lives have been preserved and considered sacred and valuable? Everyone assumes their lives are sacred and their future victims are not.

I’ll bet the Jews consider their lives sacred.

If severe anti semitism laws were enacted then these kids and their families would be immediately deported.

  3. Qatar launches initiative to ease power crisis in Gaza

Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, coordinator of Israeli Government Activities in the Territories, revealed on Sept. 13 the Israeli political approval on the Qatari initiative to build a natural gas pipeline to Gaza, ……….

all this cooperation going on behind the scenes, …could it be those pesky “understandings” with the GCC?

  4. Naftali Bennett posted the following on Facebook:

My Friends, this is an historic change in direction.
    **
For the first time, we are:
    – Demolishing terrorists’ homes immediately (rather than two years later or not at all).
    – Revoking residency.
    – Dismissing principals and teacher who incite.
    – Punishing parents for their children’s terror.
    – Imposing minimum sentences for rock throwers.
    – Outlawing the Islamic Movement’s northern branch.
    – Confiscating the Islamic Movement’s bank accounts.
    – Shooting terrorists who are throwing rocks.
    – Building in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.
There’s plenty more to do, and we will continue to push for it.

This is how you fight terrorism.

Bye the way the Prime Minister is Netanyahu he has seen the light!!

  5. Only in the Jewish State could the Muslim Brotherhood legally operate when its banned in practically every Arab country.

What a disgrace! This is very good news, indeed.

  6. Finally a concrete step. Hopefully will hold for the long haul and no reversing orders will follow.
Kol Hakavod specific to this item must be given to the government.
