New Study Shows COVID-19 Lockdowns 10 Times More Deadly Than Virus Itself

T. Belman. So the new CDC numbers say that only 6% of the deaths listed Covid 19 as the only cause. That is the equivalent to 0.33% the US population .  Such morbidity doesn’t remotely justify either a lockdown or a vaccine.  What it does suggest is that government policies should focus on people who have  life threatening conditions, most of whom aren’t working anyway.

COVID-19 lockdowns have shortened the lifespans of Americans much more than the virus itself, an eye-opening new study has found.

According to the study, commissioned by Revolver News, Coronavirus lockdowns are ten times more deadly to American citizens than the actual COVID-19 virus, and have devastated long term financial and social stability.

Drawing on existing economic studies on the health effects of unemployment, the Revolver study sought to quantify the net damage of the lockdowns in terms of a metric known as “life-years” and compared that number to how many lives will have been saved by the lockdowns.

… we found that an estimated 18.7 million life-years will be lost in the United States due to the COVID-19 lockdowns. Comparative data analysis between nations shows that the lockdowns in the United States likely had a minimal effect in saving life-years. Using two different comparison groups, we estimate that the COVID-19 lockdowns in the U.S. saved between a quarter to three quarters of a million life-years.

The news outlet opined that the results of the study confirm that “the COVID-19 lockdown measures that Americans have had to endure for the greater part of 2020 represent one of the most dramatic, consequential, and damaging policy measures undertaken in this nation’s history.”

The results are nothing short of staggering, and suggest that the lockdowns will end up costing Americans over 10 times as many years of life as they will save from the virus itself.

The lockdowns were widely accepted early on as a temporary precaution to slow the spread of the virus and save lives, but as time has worn on, many people have noticed a double standard in terms of enforcement, with different rules for different groups based on political affiliation. As new data emerges showing the virus to be less lethal than initially thought, Americans who have suffered dire economic consequences are feeling increasingly rebellious.

The media have consistently spread bad news about the virus, resulting in fear and panic among the populous, but as The New York Times recently admitted, the daily case counts heralded by the MSM have been wildly inaccurate.

The corononavirus death count has also been hugely inflated.

Recent data from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that only a miniscule number of Americans have died of the coronavirus alone.

An analysis of deaths between 2/1 and 8/22 2020 found that only six percent of COVID-19 deaths in the United States occurred in people without any comorbidities.

President Trump has made clear that he opposes further devastating lockdowns, pointing out in his recent Republican National Convention speech that they have had a devastating effect on the lives of many Americans.

“The cost of the Biden shutdown would be measured in increased drug overdoses, depression, alcohol addiction, suicides, heart attacks, economic devastation, job loss and much more. Joe Biden’s plan is not a solution to the virus, but, rather, it’s a surrender to the virus,” Trump declared.

Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden, meanwhile has indicated that he would impose further lockdowns if “scientists” told him to do so.

  1. Another point that has not attracted much attention. There have been several peer reviewed studies which show that the first indication of having caught the virus, although not apparent to the person, is that it attacks the oxygen in the blood cells.

Therefore is seems only wise to get one of those clip-on-the-finger Blood Oxymeters, which I’ve seen Walmart online has, for anything from $12-$25, with free delivery. Over 95% oxygen content is O.K. the reports said, but I think it should be a bit more.

  2. @ Reader:

I’ve read that several different studies have asserted the same thing, that is spreads like a wildfire. And in fact the results we see today shows that it does. I haven’t looked at anything about the Spanish Flu so I don’t know. But when I was a kid there were people who would occasionally bring it up as being so devastating. My own parents and all my elder relatives, aunts, uncles etc, also lived through it. In fact I don’t recall any discussion about any specific person who’d caught and died from it.

But from what I’ve heard and read about it over the years, they were lucky.

I can’t believe that masks are not beneficial. The virus is contained in droplets, and it doesn’t sound reasonable that a good, specifically made-for-it mask would not hinder it at least somewhat.

At the same time I can’t see how a mask would be harmful….Harmful to whom..?

  3. @ Edgar G.:
    Thanks, Edgar, for the clarification.
Actually, the Spanish flu was not a flu, it was a kind of a hemorragic fever, and it did a lot more damage than the coronavirus.
There is a lot of evidence that masks are either useless or harmful.
They are useless against viruses, for sure.

  4. @ Reader:
Excuse me for butting in. I just want to say that 600,000 deaths in 1918 with a pop of about 100 mill., amounts to over 2 mill today…so it was a HUGE toll then. It also carried into 1919. I think it was closer to 700.000 than 6., so equivalent to about 2.25 mill today.

It seems a major way that Covid-19 is different from the 1918-19 flu, is the massive damage it does to lungs, as well as being far easier to catch. Also the distancing and masking then would have no comparison to the masking today as far as scientific manufacture and effectiveness is concerned…regardless of those geniuses who say that masks today ar harmful and not beneficial. The MUST be beneficial at least to potential recipients, by keeping the wearer’s breathing and possible spreading of vapour droplets to a mnimum/

  5. There were 600,000 deaths from the Spanish flu in the US alone and no one shut down the economy, decreed “social distancing”, or made the whole population wear muzzles at the start of the 5th month of the pandemic.
Chances are, if they did, the difference in deaths would be minor but The Great Depression would have started 11 years earlier.

  6. @ Ted Belman:
I answered the question but respectfully you DID NOT read it or did NOT understand it probably because your question is not medically based (assumption).

If you are weak already by a pre-existing condition Covid-19 has a much better chance of killing one is my understanding from a doctor.

If you are 10 years old and healthy it is far far far less likely that covid-19 will kill you.

One’s age and health greatly impacts the outcomes if one gets Covid-19.

  7. Obviously, it was hyped.
If you take even a regular flu season and train all the lights only on the flu cases while ignoring all the other illnesses people die from every day, and describe those cases in horrifying detail, and keep pounding on it, counting every death by the state, politicizing it, social distancing and muzzling the whole country, etc., the result would be the same.
Except if they did it every year, we would be back in the Stone Age.

  8. @ Bear Klein:
We are suggesting that it is not as dangerous as you suggest. We feel that it has been hyped to justify the lockdown.
You didn’t answer the key question. Did Covid 19 cause the respiratory failure or was the respiratory failure a pre-existing condiition?

  9. @ Ted Belman:
You have to know the CDC’s definition of comorbidities as opposed to pre-existing conditions as opposed to causes of death.
Also, there is a standard list of causes of death (which is occasionally updated) that must be used when recording the official cause of death.
I don’t know whether more than one cause of death may be listed on the death certificate.
An MD cannot just write down anything that comes to mind.
I.E., it would take more research to figure out who is right.

  10. If you are weak already by a pre-existing condition Covid-19 has a much better chance of killing one is my understanding from a doctor.

If you are 10 years old and healthy it is far far far less likely that covid-19 will kill you.

Ted, I do not get why you and others continue to argue about Covid-19. Are you trying to rationalize that it is not a dangerous disease. How many people have died from this around the world. It is an illusion I suppose. Do not you get bored discussing this ad naseum?

  11. EMAIL REC’D:

You are assuming that the 94% with more than one cause of death listed are all, or largely, people with preexisting conditions. You have no factual basis for assuming this rather than assuming that the other causes of death, such as respiratory failure, pre existed covid rather than being caused by covid. It seems pretty obvious that in many, if not most, the opposite would be true.

Please comment on her argument. How do you read the CDC claim? Whose assumption is correct?
