MK Ayelet Shaked backed a new law that would substantially increase the penalties and punishment for thieves who steal produce and equipment from farms and agricultural facilities to help Israeli farmers.
-
Farm thefts have become a major plague throughout Israel, with Palestinian and Bedouin gangs stealing crops, animals, and farming equipment, often on a large scale. Just a few weeks ago, for example, alert soldiers in Samaria managed to stop a massive sheep heist that could have dealt a serious blow to a local Jewish couple’s livelihood.
Farmers file literally thousands of complaints over such thefts each year, but police rarely act on them, considering them not important enough to deal with. Farmers, frustrated with the lack of action by authorities, often hire private security companies to protect them.
The six month penalty that is proposed is not near enough.

@ Shy Guy:
What to do with rustlers, read a history of Maverick county Texas. John and Mary Maverick were ” neighbors” of TX’s forbearers.

My brother-in-law had a tractor and plow [ John Deer] stolen from his field, after which he would disable his equipment at night if he couldn’t barn them. By the way the famous Jewish Texican Robert Strauss passed at 95. A Texican is one whose forbearers settled in Texas before 1845. Sam Houston was baptized into the RC Church [ A requirement of the Mexican Govt] in The Strauss family home. This requirement was the main reason the Jews of Texas financed the Texas Revolt against Mexico.
Gov Perry is very proud of A&M’s connection with Israel.
Ever notice the similarities between Texas and Israel? Kinky understands this.
By the way, Texas A & M is building a campus near Nazareth. Israel will share water technology with the Texans; Texans will help teach Israelis about petroleum technology. Maybe it was in the Commentary article.

This is a terrible problem in Texas especially the closer you get to the border. The answer: SHOOT SHOVEL SHUT-UP.
Hanging is too good for ’em.
