New coalition distances itself from Bibi’s Bar Ilan Speech

Haaretz reports

The coalition agreements signed with both parties make almost no mention of the peace process…Habayit Hayehudi added a clause to the agreement requiring the government to pass a law within 90 days mandating a referendum over any agreement that includes handing over territory.

The actual Coalition Guidelines first paragraph reads:

To the Jewish people the inalienable right for a state in the Land of Israel, its historical national homeland of the Jews.

And the second reads:

Israel will strive for a peace agreement with the Palestinians in order to arrive at a diplomatic arrangement with them that will end the conflict with them. If such an agreement is achieved, it will be brought to the Government and Knesset for approval and if required by law, for a plebiscite.

One negative element is the use of “Palestinians”.

A positive element, no mention of a “two-state solution” or the Bar-Ilan speech.

A new path begins.

  1. Hi, Anyone that continues to talk about concessions to the Palestinians with a 2 state solution, is dreaming in colors. We should never offer any concessions prior to any talks. We must say that if the Palestinians are really interested in peace, then let them come and tell us what they are willing to offer us in return. We have nothing to sell, but if the price is right, we may consider it, period…enough if enough of those stupid games of so called negotiations.

  2. Israelis are turning inwards to the point that – the anti-Israel British newsmagazine The Economist is tearing its hair out over the death of the so-called two state solution, darkly warning the Jews will soon be overwhelmed by sheer Arab numbers and Israel will become a second South Africa.

All of which is bunk! But I’m always happy to hear Israel’s supposed “friends” give it the choice between the bullet now or face the poison later in 15 to 20 years. All my life, I’ve heard dire warnings from various Cassandras, that unless the Jewish State made suicidal concessions to its enemies, the Zionist dream and a Jewish majority in the Land Of Israel was doomed.

None of them has ever come true nor will they ever come true in the foreseeable future.

  3. ….and if required by law, for a plebiscite.

What does this mean? Will a GOI just say that the law did not require a plebiscite? They always appear to want to ram a secret agreement down the citizens throats.
